UPDATE WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17TH

Lily's Apartment:
=================
Brenda rushes in, fire extinguisher in hand. Just then a
frantic Ruby arrives, "Oh Lord...have you lost your mind?
You torched Lily's wedding dress!"

Mac's:
======
KatyBell walks in, carrying a tea tray, [rather hilariously,
considering the previous scene] she says, "Do I smell something
burning?"  Mac is concentrating on her problem. She tells him to
just drink some of their International Teas, and eat Robin's
Scones -- and just forget about everything else. All he has to do
is just celebrate his birthday.

The Q Estate:
=============
At the Q Estate the party is in full swing, as AJ arrives. Jason is
pretty much unchanged -- but he did keep his eyes open for quite some
time. Meanwhile a disapproving Nedly looks on as Monica calls him a
great brother. "What a guy," replies Nedly under his breath!"

Emily has a bag of confetti for Lucky -- she has a bag of flowers -- to
throw at I Promessi Sposi. She thinks it would be romantic. Em walks off.
Luke comes over to ask Lucky what is going on.  Luke asks him how is he
going to handle women. Lucky says "humor" them. Luke has a proud smirk.
He leaves and Em returns to talk to Lucky, she asks him what he was
talking to Edward about earlier. He tells her about the game, but
she thinks he may be way over his head challenging Edward to cards.

Filly and Robin arrive. They are discussing Mac party. They really
are party animals tonight: two in ONE night.  Filly wants to ask
"rude" questions about Katherine's case. Luke gets in on the act.
He tells her that Friday's is the day he stays home and washes his
hair, therefore he could not have seen her at the Outback at 11pm.
"What's the grease? Did she off Junior?" he asks? She tells him
the story, and the polices' timeframe.

Just then the happy couple arrive. Lila tells Simone that she and
Edward wish them well. They ask about MaryMae. Justus tells them
that she wasn't feeling well so they convinced her to rest -- it
was a choice either miss tonight or the wedding tomorrow. Simone,
attached to Justus goes over to talk to Audrey and Steve. It means
so much to her to have them attend. They tell her that no matter
what the situation they want her to be happy, "that's what they want
for their own children." Audrey ioes on to tell her that she loves
Simone, and will always do so.  Keesha comes up. Justus tells them
that Simone is nervous, and is worrying about everything, especially
about her dress. Keesha thinks Simone's gown if fabulous, but hers
is another story: it makes her look like a Munchkin. You are a
Munchkin replies Justus, in an attempt to get Simone to relax.
Steve tells Justus how fortunate he is. Justus assures them that Tommy
will be apart of his grandparents lives always.

Edward then questions Justus about his city council seat. They are
still deliberating, and they give him 10 more days before they make
their decision. They cannot seem to agree on anything, and meanwhile
they keep me twisting in the wind he says. But he will resign first
if need be. Edward is supportive of his grandson. He then makes a toast
to the couple, for Em on her birthday, and to Jason's recovery. At
the last part Nedly looks over at AJ, who self-consciously takes a sip
of his "non"-alcoholic drink.

At Mac's:
=========
KatyBell wants Mac to put his troubles behind him. Tonight they are
only to celebrate.  If he won't then she will by herself.  They
discuss Edward's help with the bail. She really enjoys the fact that
she one uped Edward. Edward tried to convince her to go on the run, and
thus he would reacquire the stocks. She does admit that taking him
up on his suggestion isn't that bad of an idea. Her case seems
hopeless, and no one seems to believe her -- and the evidence is
mounting against her.  She wonders maybe she could have done it.
She could have gone over to the cabin, whacked Damian, and her rational
mind just caused her to block the horrible deed out of her memory. Mac
says, "Alien abduction!  It's classic. The first thing that happens with
anyone who has been abducted is to lost time." [In an obvious X-Files
allusion] He procedes to check for scars on the back of her neck.
If alien abduction only were true, she could deal with cute, big eyed
aliens. He tells her that he is on her side, and they will manage.

Lily's Apartment:
=================
Ruby spots the dress, and is horrified. Brenda tries to apologize.
And offers to pay for the damages. But WHAT ABOUT THE DRESS? Brenda
claims it was an accident. Ruby does not buy it.  So how did it
happen "Spontaneous combustion?" She tells her the lights went, out
she went for the candels, etc., etc. But why were you in the room?
Brenda finally has to admit she wanted to see the dress. Brenda asks
for her advice. She does not know what Brenda should do, but definitely
she (Ruby) is not going to tell Lily; that is up to Brenda. Brenda does
not like this idea. Ruby insists, BEFORE Lily finds out on her own.

The Q Estate:
=============
Filly and Bobbie are watching Emily and Monica, they both are impressed
with how close they have become. Emily has grown so. Filly replies that
there is nothing like watching a little girl grow up. Suddenly she stops,
and apologizes for her insensitivity.  Bobbie tells her it is alright.
There is not a day that goes by that she does not think of BJ.  She is
always wondering what BJ would be like now, how tall she would be. She
now gets comfort watching her friends gain pleasure with their children.
Filly continues her search for a witness, by asking Bobbie. She was at
the hospital watching Jason she replies. The question of Katherine's guilt
comes up. Bobbie like the rest of the PCers wish her well if she did.

Robin and Filly leave, they first give the best to the happy couple.
They both will be attending tomorrow. Simone is very apprehensive that
something will spoil the wedding. Filly tries to comfort her, by telling
her that it is just nerves. Again she puts her foot in her mouth when she
assures her that she was nervous just before Mac and her wedding. Oooops,
BAD EXAMPLE.

Sonny's Apartment:
==================
Sonny wants to talk seriously to Lily: the question of security.
She is already feels safe with him. No, he replies there is always
the chance of some Wiseguy trying to off him, and soon he will be
returning to business. He is worried about her safety. Lily is
aware that this fear is the price of business. Sonny promises her
that she NEVER will be effected by his work. Lily asks him if he
is planning on returning back to "the old ways." He assures her he
is not.  "Do anything you must to protect us...and if I am the only
school teacher in Pc with a body guard... so be it.  Sonny jokes,
more like the WHOLE COUNTRY.  Just then the door bell rings. A flustered
Brenda tells them the story -- though leaving out some details,
like the real reason she was in Lily's room. She apologizes, the
material was old and thus more easily flamable. She offers to pay for
a new gown.  Sonny replies that she "use to be a much better lier!"

The Q Estate:
=============
Nedly gives Em a fake leopard skin bag. Em can't wait to show Lois.
Monica and Alan come over. They have another surprise for her. Next
week they are attending the opera and want her to come along. Ned
makes a comment about opera [hey what they hell is wrong with opera].
Alan tells her that it is Black-tie and tails, and thus she will get
a new dress out of it. Nedly tells Em it is okay to "humor the old
folks," but how about Smashing Pumkins or Hootie and the Blowfish
tickets. Em wants to see Green Day. They inform her of their opera
opening night ritual, oysters and canvosbacks. "How Victorian,"
replies Ned. It seems as though Diamond Jim Brady always celebrated
opening night eating oysters, roasted duck, and by drinking champagne.
Emily, doesn't have the slightest idea who he is.

Monica then questions Luke about Damian. "I wish the blonde Bell babe
popped the weaseal." Though he also thinks it is all to possible
that Damian is in the Cayman Islands, swelling Mai Tais, and laughing
at everyone in PC.  Bobbie replies it this is the case, hopefully he
will forget his sun screen and FRY. Justus walks up. He loves the case,
all the negative evidence against his client is a major challenge.

At Macs:
========
Robin and Filly arrive with his cake. Then the three women plant some
juicey kisses on a beaming Mac.  Robin tells Filly that she has been
up-graded to "Long term non-progressor." If she continues taking care
of herself she can look forward to years and years of good health. To
this excellent news the four toast their desserts to life.

The Q Estate:
=============
Outside I Promessi Sposi are celebrating with champagne. He tells her
that the way she looks at him, really gets him excited -- it's an
electrical shock.  He tells her that he is the happiest person alive.
She corrects him, no that SHE is the happiest person alive.

Sonny's Apartment:
==================
Brenda tries to apologize. Sonny is furious. No way does Lily want
her pity, and definitely does not want her to buy her new dress.
Brenda tries to get sympathy from Sonny. But it doesn't work. "YOU'RE
PATHETIC... you can't get away with it," says Sonny.  Brenda tells him
that she knows how he really feels about her -- she mentions the other
night when he told her he loved her.  He doesn't trust her. She has a
big mouth, and when things don't go her way she does something spiteful
and juvenile -- a SPOILED LITTLE BRAT!  Brenda thinks his assesment of
her is unfair.  She asks them if she had done it on purpose, why
would she be here apologizing; she accuses Lily of trying to get his
sympathy. He demands she leaves now, and Lily wants her to leave them
alone.  After she leaves Lily falls apart slightly. She tells him that
she does not plan on letting Brenda ruin her happiness. Sonny tells her
to buy a new gown on him.

The Q Estate:
=============
Brenda is in the midst of explaining the thing to Nedly. He laughs,
"that's outrageous even for YOU." He wants her to be honest with him.
"If there were anyone in the world who could appreciate this thing,
it's me." She continues to deny it, and is frustrated that yet another
person is not sympathetic.  Freud was right when said that in situations
like these there are NO ACCIDENTS, replies Nedly. Well, why did I
immediately go over to apologize? To get sympathy from Sonny replies
Ned. She needs to speak with someone more sypathetic, where's MaryMae?
Since there is no one her she can turn to she leaves the party.

In honor of MaryMae AJ puts one of her CDs on:

                 There's somebody I'm longing to see;
                 I hope that he, turns out to be,
                 Someone who'll watch over me.

Outside the love birds are getting romantic; Keesha spots them, and
motions for everyone to take a look:

                 I am a little lamb, who's lost in the wood;
                 I know I could, always be good,
                 To one who'd watch over me.

At a hot and heavy card game Lucky is fleecing Edward, Nedly, Alan,
and AJ -- as a proud Luke watches.

At Macs:
========
Filly informs them she has not found any witness. They go over the
police's time frame. At 6pm Mac leaves, if she left immediately
(and since it takes approximately 1 1/2 hours to get to the cabin)
that means she would have arrived at 8:30; with a half hour to get
settled down that would put her bonking him around 9pm, and to do
all she had to have down: dragging the body, rowing back and further,
cleaning up, and driving home  that would place her return at 3am.
If she could be proven to have return at 11pm that would shatter the
police's timeframe and thus their case. They need to find a witness!!

Simone's Apartment at the Brownstone:
=====================================
Still dressed and beaming from the party and the thoughts of her wedding
she answers her phone. She is pleased to hear it is Justus. She does not
notice at first that he is sobbing. The scene ends with him sobbing.
