Well, the college kids are about back in school and we've pretty well
done all the gallivanting we were going to this holiday, so today the
Thursday Update is in good time.

FELICIA WANTS A LIFE:
Felicia is playing with the toy puppy Tom brought her, and Maxie,
who is destined not to sleep tonight (where's that chloroform when you
NEED it?) comes in and thinks perhaps it's a surprise toy for her. No,
Tommy's Daddy gave it to Mommy. Maxie wants to know just HOW Mommy likes
Tommy's Daddy? Like Uncle Mac? No, Uncle Mac is special. Tommy's Daddy
is a psychiatrist, just like Kevin. "You mean he uses a lot of big
words?" So Felicia explains psychiatry to Enormous-But-Not-Too-Bright
Maxie. Sending her back to bed, for the moment, Filly lies down and
starts to fantasize about Tom, but he's analyzing her. She gets tired,
and it's been years since she had a man, so she's frustrated. FantasyTom
asks if she's ready to give unconditional love now? He asks about her
needs. "MY needs?" Then she realizes she's blown this fantasy by having
FantasyTom being her psychiatrist. [Line of the Day] "I can't even do my
OWN fantasies right! I'm WAY out of practice!"
The doorbell rings. It's RealTom, which confuses Filly for a
moment. She attempts to explain this to a bemused Tom. There are three
men in her life, Frisco, Mac, and Tommy's Daddy. His reaction: "I'm in
very heady company." He wants her to elucidate, and sure enough, the
doorbell rings, and it's Mac. [Rapidly getting to my MHGC list, the only
time he's noticed F. lately is to ask her to cover while he gets his
ashes hauled, again and again and again and again....] He asks for
Felicia's help, and when he fills in, she is convinced KatyBlah did the
deed, but since the deed is murdering Damian, KatyBlah has risen two
notches in her estimation. [I never used to like Felicia, and I won't
again if they bring in Frisco Yet Again, but she seems to be the only
person in Port Charles who remembers the Katherine of the past. I
discount Lucy, as Lucy has the utter hatred to color her perceptions.]
Felicia comes up with the Double Entendre of the Day: "are you sure
Katherine wouldn't go to severe measures to get out from under Damian?"
Tom is fascinated, but at this point he is beeped and has to go to GH.
Mac asks Felicia to toss the cabin with him when the police are through,
and kisses her when he leaves (heck, I think even HE *likes* Filly better
than Katherine!) She lies down and has another fantasy, a spy b&w French
thriller that I probably should know the original to, but I don't. Mac
says "the eagle lands at midnight" and she replies with "the baby cries
at three in the morning." [I'd misset the VCR, so I took this live, and
can't recreate the rest of the captions. Unfortunately, as they were funny.]
FantasyMac turns into FantasyTom, but Maxie interrupts just as things get
interesting. "I'm too WARM!" "Yeah", Felicia replies, "Me too!"

THE PLOT SICKENS
We have Mac and KatyBlah, who has apparently forgotten how to deliver a line.
"Even with the pre. Mature rumors of his demise." Mac tells her she
should have stayed put. The doorbell rings and it's Garcia, who has a
warrant for a blood sample from Katherine. Mac, the great Constitutional
scholar that he is, tells her to go ahead.
Meanwhile, Sonny is on the phone to Rivera. Rivera didn't do it,
and says his men are better trained and stopped when Sonny asked them
to. Lily (yes, I like the sultry hairdo, too) tells her daddy how much
she loves the dress and misses her mom. No regrets? Not one.
Lily is trying to find a date. Sonny wants it to be memorable.
She wants a church wedding, but can pull strings to get it before the 6
months are up. (Should just go to the priest who talked to her and
Miguel. He probably wouldn't even notice the change in grooms, I don't
think he looked up once.) Sonny jokingly suggests the day after
tomorrow, but they settle on early February.
Sonny calls Mac. Garcia says Katherine is a suspect. Snotty
Katherine seems to come out around Garcia, and she snips at him. [I know
this is an opinion contrary to Received Wisdom of RATSA, but I thought
Garcia was wooden and unbelievable today. And I'm rooting for him, I
want to see more of him.]
Later, Lily looks like she's making up grades for the grade book
(no papers or attendance sheets to refer to) when Sonny comes in. She
loves teaching and will keep working after they marry. He's going to
Mike's. She asks if Mike will be invited to the wedding and he doesn't know.

DENIAL AIN'T JUST A RIVER IN EGYPT
Mike is tossing socks at a hamper when Brenda comes by. She
feels like she's going crazy. Mike reviews the facts. Brenda is
disbelieving. What can she do? Mike tells her to do nothing. He quotes
the country song, "Denial ain't just a river in Egypt" and points out
that she is not the only person to have lost Sonny. At least they have
each other. She considers calling him Dad. He gives her a fatherly
caution re: Sonny... go for being his friend, not his lover. "You
couldn't handle being the girlfriend of a mobster, how could you handle
being his mistress?" He points out that Sonny always takes care of
Sonny, and that Brenda should follow his example and take care of
Brenda. She gives him a kiss on the cheek and leaves. Mike rages around
the apartment for a while, and Sonny comes. Mike asks Sonny if he is
really going through with the marriage.
Sonny says he is, and Mike asks why? Sonny says he wouldn't last
6 months in prison, and talks about being claustrophobic because of Deke
locking him in the closet. (Earlier, Mike had told Brenda that leaving
Sonny's mother was the best thing he could have done for her: I wonder if
this is causing him to reassess.) Mike is worried about Rivera and gang,
and if Sonny will get out of this alive.

AUDREY STILL HAS A CLUE
Tom comes by Audrey in the hospital, and asks about Katherine,
and then in a spate of gossip to make Amy envious, tells Audrey all he
learned from Mac at Felicia's. [I didn't know Tom as a younger man, and
only saw David Wallace a little: was he always a gossip? Surely this is
not a good trait in a psychiatrist?] Audrey remembers Damian's banked
blood. Tom, without looking up the number, calls Mac who says he will
tell Garcia.
