Daily Updates
From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday January 4 Date: Wed, 10 Jan 1996 04:31:07 GMT Control Thursday. Each storyline was tied into who is in control (or not, in most cases) and how we handle having no control. KEVIN/LUCY/MAC/KATHERINE: Kevin apologetically gives Lucy breakfast. They gloat over being back in one piece from Duckie Island. Lucy is really really glad to be away from Katherine, who is gloating over being away from Lucy. Sigmund starts quacking. Lucy shushes him, insisting that he be quiet before That Yuppie Couple gets Officer Ricky to come by and do awful things. Kevin points out that he and Lucy ARE Yuppies. She attempts to refute this argument, after all Yuppies are self-absorbed, etc. Kevin asks Lucy to go to Paris with him. As he leaves, he tells her, in French: "I love it when you juggle your calendar." [I didn't dust off my high school French to see if that is really what he said, though.] More Mac and KatyBlah. Garcia comes by and tells them Sonny's been sprung. Damian is in the paper, being investigated. KatyBlah should really get into the witness protection program. A flash of Snotty Katherine appears as she tells him she can't, doesn't he understand? [I would like to see more Snotty K. She was a person I really enjoyed hating as Mrs. Ashton, and then she got into the Boring & Nastysha couple and disappeared. Now she's suddenly too sweet for words? I could see it if, like Lucy, she kept backsliding.] Lucy and Sigmund read the paper. Lucy is all upset that she may have rubbed, well not literally rubbed, shoulders with a gangster. Damian himself turns up. Sigmund quacks away and nearly turns into duckie soup. Lucy puts him away, and Damian and Lucy talk a bit. "Damian, why did you come here?" "I just wanted to see your face." [Art Chick's heart melts.] ROBIN/NED/JASON Robin has spent the night at the hospital. "Ned," she asks, "Why is all of this happening?" "Robin, you idiot, because you're in a soap opera!" he replies. All right, no he doesn't. He doesn't know. It's hard on the family... "Grandmother is in Denial, and we're trying to keep her there." [I kept the place neat when I was hiding out there and Brenda was with Miguel!!] Robin asks "Why does it seem to come down on everyone I love?" [R, YI, BYIASO!] Ned admires Jason, who "doesn't worship at the altar of money and power. He has this incredible sound moral foundation, an anomaly among Quartermaines. . . . [he is] our lifeline to decency, the best of us." Just on cue, in comes AJ and Ned wilts him with a glare. Robin expresses sympathy. AJ, with Ned glowering at him, gives the Approved Version. Robin goes to tell Brenda, and Ned glares at AJ. Robin stops by her house, and Katy is there. "Why are you here?" she asks for all of us. Robin goes to fetch Katherine's clothes, and Damian sees her. AJ/KEVIN/NED/JASON Felicia and Tom are talking about Jason as AJ bumbles past. He goes to see Kevin. "I think I may have killed my brother!" Kevin won't let him escape. He tells AJ he should NOT try to handle it himself. He asks AJ how he feels about Ned's meddling. AJ is both angry and helpless. Unresolved anger leads to drinking. As does sadness, fear, guilt, a hangnail. "Ned is setting me up." "No, YOU are setting you up." AJ needs to stay near the family, but he will keep seeing Kevin. And just when I'm most annoyed at Ned, he has a monologue with ComaJason. "You are the best of us. You're the Quartermaine I admire because you are generous in the deepest truest way." Jason is good for Ned, "good for all of us." He's the brother Ned wanted. And Ned's never told him any of this. The monitors start to beep.
