                           General Hospital Update
                           Tuesday January 02, 1996
                            First Show of the Year

First off, a major change in the beginning. Some of the technical credits
were listed on the right hand side, with no distracting motion in the
background. Secondly, the show looked different - colors seemed richer.
Thirdly, they changed the ending credits also. Now instead of a roll or
credits, its a show of stills from the ep and the names flashing up.

AJ stragles on down to the main floor of the studio. He is out of it and
doesn't remember a thing. He wakes up Reginald , who is asleep on the couch,
asking what Reginals is doing there and what he himself is doing there.
Reginald gets on his feet and tells AJ to take a shower and lots of coffee.
When AJ tries to leave, Reginald blocks the way. Reginald won't tell AJ
anything, as per Weasl's instructions, but lets on that things are very bad.

Tony is in charge of Jason. Alan and Monica are there, along with Weasl who
is there to keep Tony from talking straight medicalese and to take the
"blame". Jason is in a very bad way, shape and they won't know for another 3
days -if he lives that long- if his brain will start functioning again. Weasl
is up the wall and keeping up the cover story (that he was driving). Monica
and Alan are crushed. They are also very worried about AJ and what was doing
with him.  They go into Jason's room to watch vigil. Monica starts
reminiscing, starting with how she had said "No child of that woman will live
in my house." [that woman was Susan Moore, Jason's Mom, Tracy's enemy, Alan's
mistress] Then how Jason got sick and stole his way into her heart. Alan
looks very pained and tellls Monica that she is Jason's mother as if she
actually carried him.

Weasl gets back to the studio. He tells AJ what happened. AJ is shocked and
just wants to get to the hospital. Weasl stops him, a brief struggle occurs
[poorly staged unfortunately] and Weasl fills AJ in on the cover story and
then tells him how bad off Jason is. Weasl spells out the rules to AJ:
No more drinking
No more tears
No saying sorry.     AJ is not to do *anything* that will take some of the
attention away from Jason's crisis. AJ is puzzled why Weasl is taking the
rap [as was i]. Weasl says in honor of Jason since he always defended and
looked out for him, for Monica's sake so she shouldn't lose both sons and for
family honor. Weasl badly needs a break to gather his strength and he sends
out AJ to the hospital, reminding him strongly of the new rules.

AJ gets to the hospital where he tells his parents the cover story. He gets
to spend a few moments with Jason. Keisha arrives with Jason (a reference is
made to MaeMay being too busy to come) full of worry and anguish. She is also
full of questions of what the heck happened. AJ gives her the cover story,
but she keeps asking those logical questions that people in grief always come
up with - how could it have happened? AJ is not in good shape and almost
starts to break but manages to hang in there, by telling part of the truth.
He was drinking and Jason came after him. Keisha asks when is the drinking
going to stop and he says it just did.

Tish (who was actually in the first scene of the year) is daydreaming about
the last time she was with Prince at Ruby's [ruby's rooms have fireplaces?!].
Ruby comes in to check up on Tish and finds out that she is still thinking
about Prince. Ruby looks like she wants to slap some sense into the girl.
Tish decides to take the bull by the horn and heads out to Prince's.

Prince, in his bedroom, was also thinking of the last meeting with Tish,
though doesn't seem as morose as Tish. His attention quickly turns to Lily
when she inquires how is he doing. They chat a coule of seconds then she
starts re- admiring the ring Prince gave her. They start talking about
wedding plans when someone starts pounding on the door. They try to ignore
it, but the person is *really* pounding. Prince goes to open the door and
-Suprise!- its Boris. Boris doesn't look too good and has a bullet in his
shoulder. He asks Prince who was behind it. Prince claims innocence, but when
pressed agrees to put out feelers to find out. Boris's theory is that someone
wants to do Prince a favor. Lily comes down to dress the wound and keeps on
calling Boris 'Mr Smith'. He makes a snide tangenital remark of keeping mum
about things. She points out that Prince wouldn't have called for her if she
couldn't be trusted. Boris wants Prince to help him pack a few things. Prince
takes umbrage at being a valet, but Boris's point is that people should see
them together and see that they are still compadres. Prince agrees. He later
puts in a call to Papa. Sure enough,without actually saying so, Papa confirms
that he did put out the contract on Boris. Prince asks him to pull out but
Papa says no deal. When he said he will take care of things, he meant he will
take of everything , as he sees fit. He then says,

                    "Give my love to Lily" [it was the juxtoposition]. Prince
does not look happy that he has lost control of the situation.

Tish comes by while Prince is off with Boris. They start a real argument (for
a couple of seconds it looked like they were going to get physical). Tish
wants to know what is going on with Prince and his bond , et al. Lily points
out that Tish has not exactly proved that she could be trusted with a
confidence. Tish says Papa must've done something, since that is the only
reason he would spend time with Lily. Lily laughs at her. Tish says that
Prince loves her. Lily says that's odd considering he was marrying her. Tish
is stunned and says thats insane. Tish starts up with the Papa thing again.
Lily points out that Prince and Lily were an item before the legal hassles.
Tish yells that Prince is in love with her. Lily gains the edge but telling
Tish not to raise her voice. Things go on in this vein, with Tish telling
Lily that Lily is living in a fantasy [talk about the stove calling the
kettle black]. Lily says that she trusts Prince implicity so Tish challenges
her to ask him about the previous night when he told her that Tish was the
only one for him. Lily looks a bit concerned about this revelation. Tish
presses her point and screams at Lily to ask Prince who he loves.
Unfortunately for Tish, Prince walks in at this point. He tells her enough
and kicks her out. She rants on about their last meeting and he tells her
that what he said was that they were finished. Tish crawls out. Prince then
turns to Lily and asks if she wants to ask him anything. She looks she is
about to, then remembers what she said about trusting Prince to Tish. She
says no. He tells her, anyway, that whatever Tish said forget about since it
doesn't affect them. Lily says yes it does - what does he feel today. He
tells her that he wants to be with her and provide for her. Lily says ok, the
rest of it will come with time.

Tish gets back to her room at Ruby's and hears over the words that Lily told
her about Prince not being able to trust Tish. She then screams and throws
something. Ruby comes rushing in and Tish breaks down in sobs.
