QUARTERMANIA:
Ned the Wonder Boy is laying down the law to the ELQ corporate lawyers,
what he wants them to do with L&B and Eddie Maine. They nod wisely, and
say things like "I can see that you would want that" but then shock Ned
(who is NOT used to the word "no"!) that they can't do what he wants.
In disbelief, he says "You're lawyers, you can do anything!" but they
pack up and leave, passing a gloating Edward in the driveway. Edward
takes Ned to show him a bright new red convertible he's giving to Lois, a
"gift from the heart and from the pocketbook". I was reminded of the
flashy car KatyBelle bought for herself. Edward, ruminating on how Lois
will accept this bribe, says "it's too big to blow out my ear." They are
still discussing it as Jason races by.

At the Foundation, Keesha is at the desk when AJ sloshes in. She's
appalled that he is drunk, and Justus takes AJ home. When Jason comes
in, Keesha is in tears. Jason berates her for being an enabler and then
he storms off home to confront AJ. They fight (Justus making himself
scarce) and then Edward and Ned come in, the fight gets physical, with a
crystal glass narrowly missing a horrified Emily, who runs off for Alan
and Monica. They ALL fight, with AJ stubbornly drinking straight from
the decanter. Alan tries tough love (get into a program or get out.) and
AJ storms out with Jason right after him. AJ gets into Lois' new car,
and St. Jason jumps right in after him, and at the Gatehouse, Ned hears a
crash.

SCATTERING STONE
[Grab a hanky!]
Robin is wandering loosely around her house, Stone's ashes on the table,
and the bell rings. It's Brenda. Brenda discovers the ashes and tells
Robin "You have been so amazing. You have been so dignified. I could
use a little of that." She says she can't go scatter ashes, even though
it's Stone's wish. Things aren't working out. They discuss Sonny.
Robin is very affirming, agreeing that Sonny loves Brenda. Brenda insists
that she can't, it's not about her, it's for Robin. She leaves.
Robin tells Sonny about this, and he tells her to let it go.
They go to the bridge to scatter the ashes, and they talk about the
bungee jump and Stone's wishlist. Brenda comes, and Robin asks Sonny to
accept her. Robin scatters the ashes with flashbacks of the bungee jump,
very impressive, three-hanky stuff.
Sonny and Robin back at the house. "Now it's just a box." Sonny
says "We did good. It's a good thing." Again he won't talk to Brenda.
He checks his messages, and the Grand Jury verdict is in.

Happy 1996 to everyone.
