From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday December 14 Date: Sun, 17 Dec 1995 07:45:09 GMT KEVIN-LUCY Kevin is in his office with Robin. She reassures him about Luke. She gives him the "magic glasses" Stone had for reading, and both Kevin and I break down. He will keep them on his desk as a reminder. He asks how she's doing, and she's written Yale asking them to reinstate her application, for the class of 2000. That seems so *scary*. "I know," Kevin agrees, "there's only 5 years and 2 weeks to the millenium." [I'd have thought Kevin was precise enough to insist that the millenium is 2001, but who knows?] Lucy bubbles in and Robin leaves. Lucy admires Robin: "She could teach us all to stay calm in the face of emergencies." Kevin agrees. However, something else has come up tht she needs to address. He is worried about Luke. "Lucy...I hate it I hate it I hate it... so I'm going to adopt a whole new posture... I want to let Luke off the hook." Kevin is just going to shut up and go along for the ride. The Ominous Knell of Doom is heard tolling as Lucy gloats over being completely happy! Kevin remains dispassionate until she tells him to "Skip the 'dis' and stick with the 'passionate.'" He's only too happy to oblige. They talk about Stone's glasses and Stone. [It's apparent Kevin enjoyed being a "righteous dude"!] When Robin gave him the glasses he says he made some inane remark about keeping them, because he didn't want to break down. "Kevin Collins. Inarticulate. Imagine that!" SONNY Sonny has gone to the Outback to see Mac. He asks Mac how things could get any worse? Stone's gone. Sonny tells Mac how Stone admired him, and gives Mac the ring. Mac slips it on, in a poignant moment. I'm ready to kill him, myself. Mike is babysitting Lulu at the club and Luke comes in. He had trouble putting up the portacrib. Mike says this is a Y-chromosome thing [which was especially funny to your fearless updater here, as at Thanksgiving we were giving the outnumbered menfolk a lot of grief about Y-chromosome things, like asking directions, carving turkeys, and channel-surfing!] Have you seen a mom, loaded down with baby and diaper bag and all hands occupied, and she just puts a stroller down and it unfolds and is ready to go. Sonny comes in and is amazed to see Mike with the baby. Luke suggests that Sonny should drop a couple of grandchildren on Mike [and later, when Leelee was looking so serious, I thought maybe he had!] Sonny is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Lucky is playing cards with Mike to recoup some of what he spent on the trip. [Lessee, this is craps, poker, card tricks... I begin to think Officer Johnson should spend less time on Sigmund and more on this gambling minor.] He has Sonny pick a card, and he knows what it is, even when Sonny gives him his own deck. [Seriously, *are* we planning a Lucky and gambling storyline?] Lily comes in and speaks Spanish to Lucky, who seems to remember that he has homework, and leaves. Sonny asks Leelee if she is OK [and I was sure she was going to tell him the pregnancy test was positive!] She's just mournful because she isn't sure he's ready for this party. Sonny laughs it off: "I've got the last laugh on Luke. Lucy is his partner now." Lily continues to look like her favorite brother died. Lucy comes to check that the party is ready. Mike and Luke tease her a bit, but no, there's enough food to feed an army till Tuesday. Lucy wants Mike in her 30% of the club, but Luke says they split him, "choose your body parts wisely." Back at the Outback, Mac is looking at the ring when Robin comes in. Mac wonders whose idea it was to give him the ring, and Robin assures him it was Sonny's. Mac says "it was very generous of him, and decent." He tells Robin you have to give someone a second chance. They continue to talk about Sonny, and Katherine eavesdrops. TOM-SIMONE-JUSTUS At the hospital, Audrey and Bobbie and Simone are dishing the dirt when there is a call from Tommy's school. Tommy has disappeared. They call Tom but can't call Steve because Audrey's Altheimer's has gone out of remission and she can't remember where he is. General panic ensues, but then the security guard brings Tommy up. Tommy left school and walked to the hospital because "Daddy needs me." Tom, again, reassures him. Eventually he and Tommy go off to use the computer in Tom's office on company time. Simone is unsure if this is the right approach, but the psychiatrist thinks it is. [TAN: I knew some psychologist's kids, and they were the most messed up of any of us. However, I think Tom's approach here is apt to work better than Simone's. She evidently thinks so too, as she agrees.] Bobbie (the great mother who was too busy flirting with Alan to make Lucas' birthday party) reassures Simone. Justus comes in. He and Simone are off to the photorapher and videographer. He is less-than-thrilled with the news about Tommy, and is pontificating (I like him most of the time, but he *is* stiff around Simone!) about Tom fanning the flames. Tom overhears this. Simone and Justus disagree about Tom. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, Proud Mom to Stands-With-a-Book, the Booklist Boy, the IRS Guy, the Tycoon, and Sunbunny.
