From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (N.J.Spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, December 6, 1995 Date: 7 Dec 1995 17:42:09 GMT With THANKS to Mom for filling in the blanks (NO thanks to KABC for interrupting GH to let us know Michael Jackson had collapsed *3000* miles away :-( ) here are the latest happenings in Port Charles. GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, December 6, 1995 Today's Stories The Other Side of Stone That Darn Safe (not Safety) Deposit Box What Is Being Human? The Business at Hand or Those Wiggy Qs The Other Side of Stone ----------------------- Robin returns home with Mac who is glad to have her home. Robin is looking pretty ragged and feels strange. Mac is proud that the little girl who has her mother's eyes, her father's smile and can see straight through Mac has turned into a wise and beautiful woman. Robin doesn't feel quite so wise and beautiful but knows she's lucky to have Mac. She's sorry for Sonny who has no family other than Mike and Sonny's not about to let Mike in. They talk of her immediate future and Mac supports Robin's decision to put off Yale in order to decompress and assimilate all the feelings she's put on hold while putting on that brave front for Stone. Mac is pleased she's going to stick around as he isn't quite ready to send her off to college. Later Robin is visited by Jason. As they fold laundry, linens, no unmentionables, Jason encourages Robin to allow herself time to adjust but instead of letting her fill her time with laundry he asks Robin to join him and Keesha for a burger at Kelly's and a movie. When he learns of Robin's decision to put of Yale he encourages her to accompany him to some of his classes to keep her mind active. That Darn Safe (not Safety) Deposity Box ---------------------------------------- Sonny meets Damian in the park and learns that Damian had been warned by the bank manager about the Feds seizing the safe deposit box. Damian had thought it was safe in an out-of-town, obscure bank under an assumed name. Not quite so. Seems Sonny has more to worry about than Damian since the contents of the box were the details of the money laundering arrangements as well as several offshore account numbers. Damian kept everything in *one* place so it was accessible unlike Sonny who has separate locations and encodes his records. Sonny says the cops think the source is Luke but Sonny is pretty sure it's not and Damian knows that Luke couldn't have known about the box. Sonny orders Damian to find "his" leak and shut "them" up. Sonny returns to LUKE'S where he confronts Luke about passing on the safe deposit box information. Luke denies it of course as Sonny lets Luke know that the information in the box will do as much damage to Sonny if not more that it will to Damian. Sonny wants whoever is passing along the information stopped and it's up to Luke since it's Luke's reputation that is being trashed. Luke heads on over to the Scorpio house and want to know how Luke is getting credit for the latest PCPD information on Damian and Sonny. Mac tries to explain he had no idea what was in the box, he was just going after Damian. They remind each other to look at their choice of partner (Sonny) and friends (Katherine). Luke warns Mac not to use his name or even let the appearance be that he's the one passing along information about Damian to the PCPD. Luke suggests Mac think of what Robin will think when she finds out about Mac's role in bringing down Sonny as he heads out the door. Mac talks to himself as he says he *has* thought of it. Luke returns to the club where he tells Sonny that the PCPD will be getting no more tidbits under the Spencer logo. What Is Being Human? -------------------- At GH Amy is complaining to Bobbie about having screwed things up with Mike. She heads off to call him as Tom comes by. Tom thanks Bobbie for taking care of Tommy while Tom had his panic attack the night before. When Bobbie comments about Tom only "being human" for having reactions to what he saw in Africa Tom wonders "What is being human?" Tom just knows that he doesn't know what he would do without Tommy. Tony arrives with the latest GH hospital newsletter. Seems Dr. Dorman has a philosophical piece in it about humane care for the terminally ill. Tony wants Dorman out of the medical profession as he hasn't learned anything from Steve's compassion. Seems Dorman asserts that time has come to be pragmatic when treating the terminally ill and to not extend their time of illness by wasting hospital resources. Tom ponders how Steve will feel about being "wrong" about Dorman. The Business at Hand or Those Wiggy Qs -------------------------------------- Edward is blustering at Ned for seemingly ignoring the Japanese deal and planning a trip to NY for a photo shoot. Edward isn't pleased that Ned no longer thinks of business when he's unable to sleep. Seems the night before Ned thought a lot about Stone and how many folks Stone touched in his short life. Ned's rearranging his priorities. They are going at it in the Quartermaine tradition when Monica comes in and *tries* to get them to tone it down since Emily's just home from school and is to meet with the social worker about the adoption. Only Reginald announcing the arrival of Mrs. Bertolli gets them to stop and they're all smiles as Mrs. Bertolli is announced. Ned and Edward put in a good word for Emily before Reg sends Emily in. Monica drags Edward and Ned out and has to pull Ned a second time as he gives Emily a thumbs up. Emily is asked how she feels about being a member of the Quartermaines as outside the closed door to the den Monica, Alan, Edward and Ned all try to eavesdrop, lined up against the door. They do hear Emily laughing. After Mrs. Bertolli is done talking with Emily she wants to talk with Alan and Monica and as Emily opens the door Monica, Alan, Ned and Edward scatter, trying to "act normal." Alan and Monica go in as Emily just looks at Ned and Edward before walking away. Monica and Alan are definitely uneasy as Mrs. Bertolli tells them Emily is a bright, pragmatic and realistic girl who has discovered she loves the family despite their baffling actions. Emily doesn't have a fairy tale idea of adoption which is a good sign and figures she should be able to adjust to the Qs, warts and all. Mrs. Bertolli is to file her report but all sounds fine. Alan and Monica figure they have passed and they "have" a daughter. Emily comes in as Alan and Monica have hugged. Alan want to break out the bubbly but Monica figures they should wait till after the judge makes it final. Emily has decided the Qs are where she ought to be and as Alan hugs her he "hopes before long it'll be where she wants to be." Emily goes off to do homework as Alan and Monica try to figure out how to make it work. They try to think of ways to punish/reform the family none of which will work since either Lila or Jason will always win the "nice" award and because everyone has enough $$ that no penalty will be enough. What they do decide is that they have to provide stability and to be committed to a life together. That's what Monica wants as she tells Alan she's scheduled the last of her reconstructive surgery. She also apologizes for handling it all so badly. Meanwhile Ned has returned to the gatehouse and relates Edward's hissy fit about Japan and the photo shoot being interrupted by the arrival of the social worker. Ned's take is that Emily's meeting went well since they were smiling. Lois is anxious about her partners and is worried about Brenda wanting to comfort Sonny. Ned agrees not to verbalize his opinions to Brenda since he can't control her anyways. Ah, just like he can't control his family remarks Lois. But, Ned can manipulate his family, something he can't do with Brenda. They decide they just have to love Brenda and trust her as the phone rings. Ned gets it and it's Mac with the news that Sonny is "about to be gotten." As Ned hugs Lois he tells her it was nothing important.
