From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday November 30 Date: Tue, 5 Dec 1995 19:20:19 GMT The one day of last week that wasn't completely overrun with Stone's death. MAC & KATHERINE: Mac, having just been with Robin, comments to Katherine that "She's so young, but there is a kind of majesty about her." He stayed up all night with her. He'd do anything to protect her... and Katherine (I, too, want K. to develop a conscience and make it up for that $20,000 she attempted to bilk from the Nurse's Ball. (Remember, however, that Lucy's strip act foiled this plot.) I also want PC's great PI (or her partner Mac) to find out about it, so Mac will see K. for who she really is...) Mac will tell Luke about Sonny's connection to Damian. Katherine is terrified. Luke gets Mac's call and goes off to see him, leaving Mike to sort out the orders. Oh, right. "What's up, Holmes?" Luke asks Mac. When Mac tells him, Luke is ready to kill the messenger. Luke tells Mac that Katherine is using him for the Big Bozo. Mac, of course, doesn't think so. He wants K's name left out of it, since Damian has been making threats. Later, Katherine oozes back into the office. Death has changed her perspective. [Her own would change it even more, I note.] She used to dream of great wealth and total snobbery, now all she dreams about is having a life in peace. Damian would be so disappointed. PRISON OR EDWARD? AJ CHOOSES, BADLY. At the Gatehouse, Ned is composing a song for Stone on ELQ time. But he assures Lois that Edward won't boil her in oil, since he has a much more deserving victim. And at the Big House, AJ says "Boy, this has been a Hell of a day, huh? DWI hearing, and then a funeral." Edward huffs: "The only funeral you'll be attending is your own if you don't get a move on. Pete Crater [Judge Crater, eh?] is not a man to keep waiting." AJ, puzzled, says "Last night you said this hearing is just a formality." Edward growls "Do You Have Any Idea what it's cost me in terms of chits and favors and outright bribes to get you a closed hearing before a sympathetic judge?" Alan weighs in: "THEN DON'T DO IT!" He would like AJ to take his chances with a grand jury. But Edward doesn't want to se a Quartermaine serving two to four years in prison. Alan comments, "Sure, when he could be so much more comfortable under your thumb!" He would like AJ to take responsibility for his actions. AJ "will be made to pay one way or the other, so choose very carefully." AJ looks at Alan as though he were nuts, and says that ALAN would like to see him in prison! Monica also wants AJ to take responsibility. Edward and AJ get into it, and Jason blows his top: "CAN WE NOT! DO THIS?" Jason just lost a friend to AIDS and this is trivial. Edward should stop yelling about all the favors and strings he's pulling, AJ should stop whining. [Line of the Day] "You are a lucky man, AJ. Suck it up, and live with it." He leaves, and Edward and AJ leave, slightly chastened, for the courthouse where they will meet Lee. Judge Crater [*giggle*] is not happy. He mentions the DWI of three years ago when AJ promised to attend his meetings and stop drinking. He has perjured himself. But, somehow, the breathalyzer results have been "misplaced." AJ is NOT to turn up before Judge Crater again, however, or he'll be very sorry. Back at the Big House, Edward admits to some Quartermaine peccadilloes, "but thus far we've been able to avoid incarceration." He and AJ spar about the value of an AJ promise, and Edward leaves. AJ pours himself a stiff H2O (or so I believe) and Emily comes bubbling in. AJ asks her if she's started to regret her decision to stay yet? Emily admits that she sort of missed it. AJ is glad to have a friend in the house. Emily says "I'm really happy for you," and AJ responds "That makes one of us." NOT DOING WHAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO: Lois discovers the spring inventory sheets that Stone was having so much trouble with till Robin helped him. Then they discovered his dyslexia... Lois breaks down. Play me something. Ned plays the new song, These are the Times, which while not Janis Ian, isn't bad... it includes the line "love will have the last word." Lois is blown away. OK, they'll change his sound, and she plans a video at Coney Island in the winter when it's bleak and lonely and dead. They pick Valentine's Day for it. Jason brings down some pizza which had been delivered at the Big House. (or was a Thanksgiving leftover?) He's not doing Charles Street work (or studying, or anything), not doing what he's supposed to either. Emily pops in with the news of AJ's verdict. She's puzzled because Ned seems to believe that one law for the Quartermaines and another for everyone else is the Natural Order. Jason and Emily go off to play catch with Raoul to waste some time before the funeral. TWO TRAINS ON THE SAME TRACK: Harry has bad news for Sonny. The Word On the Street is that Luke is giving the information about Damian. Sonny comments "Lucas Lorenzo Spencer, master of bad timing." He will come clean with Luke. After all, the deal with Damian has nothing to do with Luke. Harry offers to "take care" of Luke, but Sonny declines. He finds Stone's sunglasses after Harry leaves. At the office, he sends a paperwork-overcome Mike out. Before Mike leaves, he tells Sonny how sorry he is. Sonny is about to say something to Mike, when the master of bad timing himself comes in. Sonny tells him "I've got some stuff I've gotta tell you." Luke fumes "No kidding." Mike leaves, and Sonny tells Luke that Damian is his partner. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, Proud Mom to Stands-With-a-Book, the Booklist Boy, the IRS Guy, the Tycoon, and Sunbunny.
