From: jeffmj@port-charles.com (Jeff Jungblut) Subject: GH: Update for Monday, Nov. 13, 1995 Date: Tue, 14 Nov 1995 01:20:04 -0800 GH: Update for Monday, Nov. 13, 1995 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Note: I missed the last half hour of Friday's show, so I'm not sure what exactly happened with Lucky. He looks unconscious, Emily is screaming his name, and there's a rattlesnake headed their way.] Robin is in supreme denial over Alan's diagnosis that she's HIV+. She thanks Alan for stopping by and after offering a hug and his continuing support, he leaves. Then she breaks down and the tears start flowing as the slow, depressing version of the opening theme begins. In Philadelphia: Tom, still acting drunk, stumbles over to Simone & Justus' table and plants a big wet one on Simone. Justus gets up and slugs Tom. Jason and the KFC guy break up the fight. Ned wants to see what's up with Tom, but Lois says she needs his help keeping Brenda away from Sonny. In the desert outside Albuquerque, that snake slithers closer and closer to Emily. Lucky wakes up in the nick of time, but it looks like he's outside a cave and she's trapped inside. He wiggles the foam rubber fake rocks blocking the entrance while she screams in terror. Steve and Jason help clean up Tom, who's now snapped out of his pseudo stupor. Tom asks who saw the public official slug him. Steve says he must've made an unwelcome comment to Simone in order to provoke Justus, but Tom insists he didn't say a word. Then Ned comes in and wants answers. Ned says he saw Tom kiss Simone; Steve acts a little surprised and Jason takes off. Ned blathers on about Mary Mae needing respect on her night of nights. Tom apologizes insincerely, but Ned asks him to go home. Steve reminds him that Simone is NOT his wife. Brenda is making smalltalk with Sonny when Ned intervenes to recap the situation with Tom. Lily slithers over and takes Sonny away. In a filler scene, Lucy talks to Brenda about nothing I can comprehend as relevant. While Robin is sitting on the couch, still crying and contemplating the ring Stone gave her, Stone comes downstairs. He tells her about a dream he had, about the two of them going over a waterfall together, and a yellow fish and a blue fish talking to each other. He woke up and realized the fish voices were downstairs; he had heard Robin talking to someone and wants to know who it was. He tells her it was Mary Mae's music. Stone tells her about a gym dream he had. Alan, Sonny, Brenda & Mary Mae are all at the gym pumping iron. Stone is watching Robin on a bike, realizing her inner strength. [Oops -- cable went out. I missed a minute or two.] Stone goes back upstairs and Robin starts tearing up again. She cries out for her mom's help. Lucky continues pulling the huge featherweight boulders away from the cave entrance. The snake has finally made its way to what looks like Emily's ankle and she's decided she has to kill it before it kills her. Lucy stops by the Ward family table to congratulate Justus on decking Tom, who had it coming. Jason introduces Lucy to Faith, Justus' sister, then shooshes her over to the bar where Damian is waiting. Damian & Lucy bicker about whether or not they're on what could be called a "date" and how Kevin fits into the picture. Emily picks up a rock and throws it at the snake. The snake jumps and she faints. Tom comes out of the restroom and heads over to the Ward table to apologize, but Sonny grabs him first and demands an apology. Tom refuses, and Sonny gets him to leave. Lucky moves the last of the rubber rocks and frees Emily from the cave. She's not bitten and the snake is dead. She's still in a bit of shock...she starts getting a little hysterical about what could've happened, but Lucky calms her down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Robin's crying and desperately wants her mom. From behind, we see Anna putting her arms around Robin to comfort her. ANNA: It's all right, Love. ROBIN: It's not, mom. Mom... ANNA: Shhh... I know, I know. ROBIN: You do, don't you... ANNA: Yes, I do darling. Oh, I love you. ROBIN: I love you too. And I love Stone. It was the most wonderful thing in my whole life, falling in love with him. And it wasn't supposed to... oh God, how did it turn out like this? ANNA: It's not over. ROBIN: It almost is for Stone. Now I have to tell him I have this virus. Mom.. [turns to Anna] It's all my fault, Mom. I knew about protection. I wish it.. I was just so in love with him, I just didn't think. ANNA: If you want me to blame you, I'm afraid that I can't. ROBIN: I want you not to blame Stone. Just don't be mad at him, please. He's made me so happy. I'm better because of him, you know. I grew and... So did he. He had a hard life before, his parents weren't like you and Dad. ANNA: Yeah, I know. I know what you've been through. I love him too, of course. When someone adores your child, you tend to think that person's fairly special. ROBIN: Thank you. I wish you could know him. You'd be so good for him. ANNA: He's found a soul mate. And he has true friends, he knows that he's loved. He's found his path. He doesn't need me. *But you do.* ROBIN: Mom, I'm so scared. ANNA: Of course you are. ROBIN: Please, can't you just make it go away. ANNA: That's all that I want, is to keep you safe...fight this for you. ROBIN: Nobody's brave like you. When I was little, nothing could touch me because you'd stop it. I always knew that. [What about the multiple times she was kidnapped??] ANNA: But you know more now. I was only human and I couldn't stay here to protect you. My spirit is strong and I would battle this disease for you, ...but I can't. ROBIN: Maybe I wanna die. I'd be with you. ANNA: Oh, sweetheart...I'm with you all the time. Look. You are frightened and sad. But underneath these tears is a blazing will to live and that is your secret weapon. ROBIN: And Stone wants to live... I'm not Stone. ANNA: Right. That's exactly what I was thinking. ROBIN: You heard Dr. Quartermaine? ANNA: Mm-hmm. You trust Alan. Even more, trust yourself. You make good choices. ROBIN: Even though I... ANNA: Yeah, uh huh, even though. What I said to you that first day in first grade remains true. ROBIN: Have fun and don't bite? ANNA: [laughs] I had forgotten that. Hmm, yeah, that was good advice. No...you can't be perfect. Our God-given curiosity prevents that. But you can be honorable. And you have consistently behaved with honor. That makes me very proud. I also rather like the fact that you're a stunning young woman. [notices Robin's ring] ROBIN: Stone gave it to me. It already feels like a part of me. He gave it to me so that I'd never forget him. Now I wonder, who's never gonna forget me? ANNA: Listen darling, you know things a woman your age should never have to know. But it won't be wasted knowledge, you'll use it. ROBIN: How? ANNA: You'll become a teacher. ROBIN: In spite of being HIV positive? ANNA: Perhaps because of it. You will make a difference in the world. And I promise you, you will live a long, long time. And you'll always be loved. The vision of Anna is gone and Robin curls up on the couch. -- Jeff Jungblut jeffmj@port-charles.com Visit Port Charles Online, the original General Hospital WWW page http://www.port-charles.com
