From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday Nov 9 Date: Fri, 10 Nov 1995 18:33:21 GMT I think Kleenex should start sponsoring GH, they certainly were needed today! First, the least painful storyline. Felicia has gone to see Simone to ask for her opinion of Tom's invitation to Philadelphia. Felicia wants to stay friends. Simone is puzzled by her own reaction... it's more complex than simple jealousy, and Justus is a much better mate for her, but maybe she's feeling territorial, like Tom shouldn't be moving on. This is perfectly normal, of course. But since her head knows that Tom moving on is exactly what she wants, of course Felicia can go, but how does Filly feel about being used? Tom denies it. Simone thinks it might be nice to have Felicia there, as then she might make Tom behave. Felicia comments that "I'm a mother, but I'm not his. Maybe he should take Audrey." Felicia goes to the hospital and tells Tom she wants to talk about it. She can't go if she's increasing tension. "I'd like to be a person PRESENT with you and not a piece of dynamic between you and your ex-wife." She leaves, refusing to go to Philadelphia, something she did want to do, and Tom is the spoiled brat who's been crossed. He storms off to Simone and grabs her by the arm and takes her off. How DARE she tell Felicia about him! Simone holds her own and Tom is left baffled, unsatisfied. THE SEARCH FOR AUNT COREY: Lucky and Emily are at a diner for breakfast. She thought the pillows were rotten and prefers the plutonium-card life. She's thinking about checking out and refers to Lucky's plans as "convoluted", a word which stops him for a moment. She explains "it's an Alan word. Actually it's more of a Sydney word." This truly confuses Lucky and he explains that they will camp out. They will check out their gear and then look at Heseltine Street. Emily says she doesn't miss Monica and Alan, but she does miss Raoul. Edward is playing kissyface with Raoul, the puppy he once threatened to drown, as Ned and Lois come in. They express some interest in the search for Emily, mostly because if Luke and Laura still have the jet, how will they get to Philadelphia? (This from Ned.) Lois points out that they still have the van, but Ned says 350 miles in a van is a bit much for a septagenarian. Edward sputters that HE is a Sep--one of those, and he could do it. And anyone can get up and sing. Besides, Ned shouldn't be using the ELQ jet for L&B business anyway. "Don't start, Grandfather." In all reality the jet shouldn't be used on the Lucky and Emily hunt either. Ned reminds Edward of their deal, which Edward is trying to change. Ned will be on call if there's an emergency. Edward huffs off. Ned says he'll charter a plane and Lois gets all defensive. This is HER company. "What is this, some kind of power trip?" No, he just wants to give MaryMae a chance to fulfill her dreams. *****Break out the Kleenex! I think when this was written and performed, the writers and cast knew Rosalind Cash was ill, and this is by way of being a tribute to her character. I don't think they knew how soon they'd lose her, but they were laying the groundwork.***** Lois says "Are we assuming that MaryMae's dreams are the same as ours are for her?" Ned is taken aback by this, as yes he was. Lois points out that MaryMae is happiest with her family, which she has expanded to include most of the human race. The babies at the Ward house. I was blubbering like a baby myself, here. Then Ned wants to start "making our own dreams come true." (And I cynically add, he'd really like to take over L&B, and this might be the way.) Lois doesn't understand him (Riiiiight, comes from a staunch Old-Country Catholic family, and she never thought about children?) at first, then agrees that she's maybe ready to start thinking about considering it. Meanwhile, he suggests a little practice, and he doesn't mean walking the floor at 2 AM. Meanwhile, back in Albuquerque (am I good, or what? I can spell it!) Luke is on the phone to the registrar at the Boston University, who gives him Corey's Albuquerque address. Which is where, 113 Haseltine, Lucky and Emily are. They are greeted by the Landlady of the Year, who eventually tells them Corey moved out owing her $200 and everyone else a lot of money as well. Lucky drops a hint about Pasadena, but later explains to Emily that this is just to give them a couple of days while they figure out what to do next. Emily is quite discouraged. Luke turns up at Haseltine shortly thereafter and the Landlady of the Year is equally "helpful" to him, though she does remember to mention Pasadena before slamming the door in his face. OUR DREAM HOME (actually, this is pretty much the day's theme... Ned & Lois built a dream house that wasn't the Gatehouse, and of course Emily is looking for a dream family.) Robin asks Stone "what are we going to do today?" and he says he's already accomplished a lot... he got up, he got dressed, he kept breakfast down. She suggests a walk or a drive, and he asks her to read to him while he considers his options. She asks which book, Sherlock Holmes, Oliver Twist, or The Old Man in the Sea, and he says "let's go with the kid." She checks where they were, and Stone says "the old guy just pulled him from the street after the other guy sprung him from the tank... kinda like me-n-Sonny." She reads a few minutes and then explains it's getting sad, but it will get better. He admires her reading and says how much the kids will like it. What kids? Maxie and Lucas? No, Stone explains, "our kids." They head off into "let's pretend" land with daughter Anna and son Michael? Nope, too many. Jason? How about Sonny? Uncle Mac would hate that, so make it Sonny Malcolm. Anna is 5 and Sonny Mac 3 because Stone wants him to have a girl to clear his path the way she did for him. Will they live in the country with a horse? Stone asks "What's a horse?" and they decide to have a country house and a city one. They can afford it because Stone will have taken over Sonny's business and Robin will be a respected professor at Yale. Not to forget the Porsche, the only conspicuous consumption they will have. Sonny comes in as they are discussing having a red bedroom. He's going to "collect Leelee to go to Philly." Robin and Stone kiss. Is that enough? Robin says "there are never enough kisses, even if we have all the time in the world." Stone tells her to get tested again. He talks about her going on with her life. He'll always be with her. Robin says "We keep the people we love, whole, in our hearts and in our heads." *sniff* -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, Proud Mom to Stands-With-a-Book, the Booklist Boy, the IRS Guy, the Tycoon, and Sunbunny.
