From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (N.J.Spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, November 1, 1995 Date: 2 Nov 1995 16:40:51 GMT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, November 1, 1995 Today's Stories Curiosity Killed The Cat Not The Duck Hittin' The Road Bored and Restless According to Edward Compassion and Courage/Polite and Distant Curiosity Killed The Cat Not The Duck ------------------------------------- There's a knock at the door as Lucy is feeding Sigmund. She tries to keep him quiet thinking it's Kevin but no, it's Damian. Only after ascertaining that Damian isn't mad does she open the door and allow him in. Damian's there to thank her and to apologize. He has figured she went to Mac about Katherine and claims that he doesn't care about Katybell anymore, so long as Katybell stays out of his hair. Lucy and Damian compare their breakups. Damian claims his was a clean break and is actually cathartic but Lucy's hurts. Lucy can't understand Damian's calmness and gets him to "explain" his relationship with Katybell...one of feeding off each other's competitiveness. Damian knows he won't reconcile with Katherine. He starts to give Lucy advice but stops saying he only came over to say thank you to Lucy. He leaves and once outside Lucy's door smiles, almost believing what he's told Lucy as inside Lucy just wonders. Hittin' The Road ---------------- The hobos, Emily and Lucky, stop by LUKE'S. Lucky has to talk to Luke about Laura. Seems Lucky wants to make sure Luke knows he's leaving early for school in the am to help with party cleanup and that he has soccer practice after school. All in case Lucky doesn't see his mother to tell her himself. Lucky congratulates himself on the way out for having laid the trap...yes, Luke is suspicious of Lucky's actions. Next it's to the Quartermaine mansion for Emily to make an appearance before "going up to bed." They interrupt Ned, Edward and Lois for just a moment but Emily isn't even out of the room before they are back to their argument. Lucky waits outside and is almost found out when Edward is later getting prepared to take Annabelle on her nightly constitutional. Annabelle sniffs around Foster and Lucky but is pulled away by Edward. Emily has changed and gathered up her gear so the duo is off the Spencer house for Lucky to change and gather his gear. He hopes he doesn't run into Laura but while Emily cools her heels outside Lucky encounters Laura who has been waiting up for him. She wants details of Maxie's party. Lucky reluctantly answers her questions and then tells Laura about the school cleanup and soccer. She's prepared to not see him until after school. Lucky gathers his stuff, says goodbye to Foster and then he and Emily are off to the bus. Once aboard Emily reveals it's her first time on a bus at night, but it's not the first for Lucky. However, it will be his first visit to Boston and so the adventure begins. Bored and Restless According to Edward -------------------------------------- Edward has summoned Lois and Ned to the main house. He has an Asian pharmaceutical proposal for Ned which would require Ned to spend six months in Tokyo. It's a no go and Ned is furious. There's no way he's going away with a new Idle Rich promotion about to begin and besides he's not leaving Lois for that long. Edward suggests Lois go with him and Lois catches on and is just as furious as Ned. Edward claims things have been going so smoothly that Ned is becoming restless and he's just trying to keep Ned out of trouble. Edward reminds them of how they met, a CEO going undercover to checkout a rival hotel chain and then leading a double life as a rock-n- roll singer. He even reminds them of Ned's simultaneous marriages. Lois questions if Ned's tinkering with the Idle Rich is a symptom of his restlessness. Ned claims no. Edward bails on the discussion but urges Lois to talk Ned into Tokyo, it may save her marriage. The Ashtons return to the gatehouse where the discussion continues. Ned claims Edward is just trying to control them. Lois thinks Ned IS bored and just won't admit it. Ned starts to fear Lois is thinking like a Q. Lois noted that Ned's eyes sparkled when he first read the Japanese deal but Ned claims he has a man in Tokyo who can handle it and Ned will only have to make a couple week long trips there. Ned's take is that Edward is trying to get rid of Eddie Maine any way he can and that Lois' paranoia is due to shoving Miguel off on his own, the troubles with Sonny and not seeing a lot of Brenda. As Ned assures her they deserve a little stability Brenda arrives. (see next story) Compassion and Courage/Polite and Distant ----------------------------------------- Sonny leaves a jumping LUKE'S to take a walk and to go to GH to pick up Stone's things at GH. However, before he leaves Luke offers to take LUKE'S to the penthouse one night for Stone. Lily comes in to see Sonny. Before she's goes to GH to find Sonny Luke tells her the news about Stone. Over at GH Brenda bounces into Stone's room only to find it empty. Even his stuff is gone. When Sonny walks in and says Stone's checked out Brenda assumes the worst. She pleased to hear Stone's gone home but when Sonny's face falls as he tells her the news she sees Sonny can't even look her in the eyes. Sonny and Brenda are civil to each other as they discuss Stone and preparing for the next six weeks. Brenda is sensitive to Sonny's pain. He admits he's not in control and has never been since the beginning. Brenda wonders about visiting Stone at the penthouse but Sonny offers to make himself scarce when she visits. It won't be hard, he needs bread crumbs to find his way to the front door. They laugh about the prospect of Sonny with a maid/butler and just then Lily arrives. Everyone is polite but distant as Lily wonders about going to the penthouse with Sonny. But no, Sonny wants to give Robin and Stone time alone. So Lily offers to take Sonny to dinner. They leave Brenda standing alone. At the gatehouse Brenda tells Ned and Lois the news about Stone. They are devistated. When Brenda tells about seeing Sonny and how vulnerable he was Ned allows that Sonny's compassion toward Stone is Sonny's one saving grace. Brenda tells of wanting to reach out to Sonny but was thwarted by Lily. They agree to comfort each other. Lois points out to Brenda that Lily keeps Brenda from slipping back and that Brenda isn't just missing Sonny, Brenda's also missing Miguel and thinking of losing Stone. It's a sad end to the day at the gatehouse. Over at LUKE'S Lily and Sonny talk about death and how different folks approach it. Sonny figures he'd be scared. Lily decides to take upon the job of cheering up Sonny as he stand by and supports Stone.
