Subject: GH: The Why Me, Oh Lord? Update Thursday Oct. 19
Date: Fri, 20 Oct 1995 19:31:22 GMT

And to think I nearly missed this, by missetting my VCR and going out.
Not-so-luckily I realized it and got a friend to tape it. For my next trick,
I'm trying to figure out how to do an update blindfolded.

CAN SHE KEEP ALL HER BALLS IN THE AIR? (You should only pardon the
expression!)
Outside the Outback Damian is practically forcing KatyBelle through the
door and she's reluctant, not wanting to hurt Mac's feelings. Damian
wants to know why he should give a rat's ... uh... ear... about Mac's
feelings? Katherine asks for compassion [you know, (Heretical statement #1)
I am beginning to feel sorry for the lying, conniving, scheming,
blackmailing, manipulative wench!] especially since with Stone's
illness, he's having a hard time. [Well, maybe because she's more
conscious of Mac's feelings than Lois is of Sonny's in the same situation?]
She comments that Damian is playing games, that he should be ashamed of
himself. [Looks like this is the one female in PC the water is actually
good for!] He is sadistic and jealous. They turn to go, and Mac comes
to the door to invite them in. He has been sitting at the bar with Kevin
planning the downfall of Maia at the exorcism-uh-cleansing, and thinks
they should have a rehearsal. [Nooooooo! It's going to drag ON!]
Mac thanks Damian for his message, and Damian looks suitably
confused. He wants to hear Mac's version of what's going on between him
and Katherine. Katherine keeps trying to escape, but Damian presses on,
and Mac's answers (about being mature about rejection) can be taken
either way. Katherine twists slowly in the wind, but just as they turn
to go, in comes Lucy. Kevin attempts to distract her, but she gets in a
couple of digs (which again can be taken either way) before going to lunch
with Kevin.
At Katybelle's apartment, Damian is suspicious and scared. He
apologizes for going to Italy. Katherine says she thinks they are growing
past each other, but she is no longer dependant on him. "Please let me
go." He refuses, holds her, and next thing we know she's in a black
teddy and they are in the bedroom. The doorbell rings. It's Mac.

PLEASE STOP NOW! (THE VIDEO AND CONCERT)
[Heretical statement #2: I actually don't mind Ricky Martin's music (find
myself humming this one, for instance) as long as I don't have to watch him!
I wish him all the luck in the world on his concert tour, and hope he's such
a huge success he doesn't need GH any more!]
Ned and Lois are watching the tape of the video. This updater demands
hazard pay for not once hitting FF. The phone rings, it's someone who
wants an interview. Ned thinks the video is a knockout. Icky and
BrainDead come in, all excited. They mention Stone and get somber for a
minute, then they mention Sonny and get all paranoid when there's a knock
at the door. It turns out to be the World's Greatest Music Producer, Mr.
Cepeda. He looks like the classic gangster. He wants to buy the
company, but Lois doesn't want to sell. Ned, natch, horns in here,
pointing out that this could be a way of getting rid of Sonny. [Me, *I*
think it's out of the frying pan into the fire. Looks like mob stuff to me.]
Mr. Cepeda wants to do it now, as he has a world tour leaving next week
for three months, and he wants Miguel to sub for the lead singer who
wrapped himself around a tree. [Me, I'll take the three months! Better
than nothing!] (What will Brenda-the-slut do without her main squeeze?
Maybe Ned, after all, they are "just good friends", too.) He leaves, wishing
them luck (not to "break a leg", he should know better!) and Ned points
out the advantages to Lois. Lois, though, HELLO, NED? doesn't want to
sell the company. They'll have a meeting after the concert and she
dashes into the stands to tell Sonny. "An offer I can't refuse, you
should only pardon the expression." Then the concert starts. Ned
murmurs something about Sonny, but I was hoping for a submachinegun ending.

MISCELLANEOUS STUFF AT THE HOSPITAL
Alan tells Stone he has a brain infection. Stone is of the "shoot me
now" school, which upsets Robin. Amy tells Robin about a blind date (Mike
is apparently not serious) she had where he washed in the finger bowl.
Amy's going to places where they have finger bowls? Luke comes in and he
and Robin talk. She understands how Mac must feel... when Stone bled on
him, she was mad at Stone. She's worrying about Mac. Luke sees Alan and
asks if he's made any quick trips to New York recently. They chat about
Emily. Bobbie comes in, Luke leaves, Boobie and Alan have been thinking
about each other. I get the awful feeling Bobbie is going to get out of
this one, just as she did the Catacomb-Damian thing, scott free. Blech.
