From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (N.J.Spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, October 18, 1995 Date: 19 Oct 1995 16:02:18 GMT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, October 18, 1995 Today's Stories Lots of Little Fibs or Whoppers? Losing Control Something May Go Wrong Heading to The City Lots of Little Fibs or Whoppers? -------------------------------- Katybell and Damian return to her apt. Damian is disconcerted by Katybell's concern for Stone AND Mac. He thinks Mac was stupid, Katy thinks Mac was heroic and has turned away from her cynical ways. Damian want to know why Katherine has changed. Katybell tries to get Damian to leave citing a pile of correspondence but Damian wants to find out if Katy has been telling him little fibs or big whoppers. Seems finding her at the Outback after she had claimed she didn't want to run into Mac or Felicia has set off alarm bells in Frank's son's mind. Katy spins a tale of the fight being over her flirting with Mac, Filly calling her on it, and then Mac coming to Katy's defense. She was at the Outback, with no reporter, and decided to mend fences....da, da, da... Damian warns Katy he might react very badly should he lose her to someone like Mac. Katybell's phone rings as she and Damian are embracing. He won't let her get it. As soon as she hears Mac say he's at the hospital she picks it up. Mac wants to visit Katy but she pleads other plans. Mac figures he'll go see Kevin. Katy is defensive about Mac and Damian calls her on it. When she throws Lucy back at him he questions her intentions towards Mac and as he leaves warns Katybell to be "very careful." Later Katherine is at loose ends. She calls Mac and get his machine. She leaves a message that she's free if he wants to talk. Losing Control -------------- Steve cleans Mac's hands with a stronger disinfectant, seems Mac has not even a hangnail for the virus to take opportunity from but still advises Mac to have an HIV test in 6 months. Mac is concerned with Stone and the reason for the seizure. At GH Stone is frustrated with the numbness of his right arm, right leg and the right side of his face. Alan tries to tell him that it's residual affects of the seizure and that Alan doesn't know the immediate cause of Stone's seizure. It could be one of the medications. They're running a few tests and when they know something they'll let Stone know. As Stone thanks Mac Robin arrives and is upset to hear about Mac getting Stone's blood all over his hands but Mac tells her to worry about Stone. Mac excuses himself. Stone is frustrated that he can't feel Robin's hand holding his. Sonny calls Lois to bail out of NY. (See below) Stone is ready to give up the fight. Lois is half in the room as Sonny gives Stone a moving "Rocky" speech and reminds Stone of all the people in Stone's corner. Once the "Rocky" speech is over Lois comes all the way in and Stone apologizes for making her have to replace him and for the $$ spent on his plane ticket. Lois lets him know he's not replaceable and once he's up and around again his job will be waiting for him. Lois keeps is short and she and Sonny walk out together. She wonders about the bag of contradictions that is Sonny. She wants to think of him as a heartless self-centered rat but then he pulls something like his Rocky speech and she misses what they used to have. As she leaves she starts to ask why he has to bring Lily but stops herself. Tony comes up to Sonny. The test results are back and they're bad. A microorganism that comes from eating undercooked meat, normally not a threat unless one is pregnant or has a compromised immune system is attacking Stone. He's got a small brain tumor. The litany of symptoms lead to a coma. There are some drugs they can treat Stone with but Sonny asks Tony to wait till morning to tell Stone. Something May Go Wrong ---------------------- Lucy arrives at the lighthouse and enters tentatively, calling to Ryan and nearly jumps out of her skin when Kevin says hello. She calls Maia to see if Maia has made a decision and lo and behold Maia "had just been thinking of calling Lucy." She's willing to do the cleansing, no not an exorcism. She gets Kevin on the line to make sure this is what he wants and then asks to come over to "get the lay of the land." Kevin is willing to "try" anything to get rid of Ryan. As they wait for Maia, Lucy is frightened but is sure of what. When Maia comes she "moves" around and doesn't "sense" Ryan's presense but does stop where Lucy and Kevin had seen the green blob and says Ryan "had been" in the lighthouse. She warns them of the dangers of the cleansing and wants to make sure they want to break the connection between Kevin and his brother. They set an appointment for Friday evening, as Maia has to gather her "equipment." Lucy is thrilled that she and Kevin haven't argued over Maia and that Kevin is exploring the situation with Maia. Mac has told Kevin and Lucy about Stone and about the glances he saw between Alan, Steve and Tony. He figures there's more to Stone's problem than just a reaction to the medication. Kevin suggests Mac stay for dinner, "Lucy is cooking" and Mac wonders "Duck?" While Lucy goes off to tear up more greens for the salad Kevin tells Mac about Maia's visit and that the "big event" will take place Friday evening. Lucy sees the two toast and wonders. At the lighthouse Lucy is cleaning up in the kitchen, breaking dishes as Mac and Kevin finalize their plans for Friday night. Kevin is concerned but for Mac it's a breeze compared to Norma and Eve. It will be "one great big spectacle" if they pull it off. Heading to The City ------------------- In the afterglow, Ned and Lois revel in their happiness despite all that is going on around them. As they talk of The City, Lois recalls her grandparents winning a jitterbug contest at Birdland. When Ned offers that he would take Lois to Birdland if it was still in existence Lois fantasizes that they are, and are dancing the jitterbug. Back to reality, Ned figures Lila never went to Birdland but instead would have frequented formal, intimate supper clubs. Lois say, ah, like Fred and Ginger, and fantasizes they are Astaire and Rogers "Dancing Check to Check." (Nedly is no Fred Astaire but does do a mean soft shoe..and..SUH-WOON...looks great in tails) Ned figures their grandchildren will think of him in his leather pants prompting Lois to promise Ned that once Miguel is launched she will concentrate on Eddie Maine. Lois gets call from Sonny who has arrived at Stone's room. He tries to bail out of NY but Stone won't let him. When Lois asks what happened he puts Robin on to explain. Robin apologizes for not calling earlier but Lois isn't concerned about that. Lois decides to head to GH to visit Stone on the way to the airport. When Ned and Miguel want to go with her she say no, Sonny's there. She leaves Ned with instructions to bring all her stuff. Once she's gone Ned informs Miguel Sonny might be taken care of and tells him about the phone tap. Miguel is thrilled but is concerned that Ned hasn't told Lois and Brenda about it, especially since Ned promised not to mess with L&B. But for Ned, it goes far beyond L&B.
