GH: Blow-by-blow update for Monday, October 9, 1995

At the Q mansion, Emily and Lucky play with the dogs and banter about her
problem with Alan and the rest of the Quartermaines. She continues to act
bummed because she doesn't know who to talk to about the Alan/Bobbie
situation and she's still unable to trust anyone. Monica overhears the
end of the conversation.

Damian and Katherine make smalltalk. She acts distant and he calls her on it.

At the Outback, Kevin and Lucy talk about Felicia and what a one-of-a-kind
woman she is and how Lucy's sorry that things didn't work between Mac &
Filly. Lucy then demands to know what's up with Mac and the Queen of
Mean.

Mac avoids all the personal questions fired by Lucy and gets defensive of
Katherine. Mac rambles on about how warm, intelligent, beautiful,
engaging, etc. Katherine is. Lucy asks him if he's been watching those
old DOOL tapes again. It then dawns on her that Mac & Katherine have
boinked and she's now livid that she's the last to know.

Damian wants to know what Katherine's mood is all about. She makes
excuses about having to do PR stuff. Damian dials his contractor to get
the ball rolling for the megastore in Charles Street.

Monica walks in and puts on the charm with Emily and Lucky. Lucky tries
to bow out and take off but Emily wants him to stay. Lucky claims his mom
needs him [as if he would care, if that were true] so he leaves. Monica
says she owes Emily a big apology.

Monica says she doesn't blame Emily for being angry or confused. She's
sorry that the argument got out of the privacy of her and Alan's room.
She says she knows it's not the kind of scene Emily's mother would have
caused, to which Emily barks that she doesn't want to talk about her
mother. Emily is concerned about an impending divorce; Monica tries to
reassure her that she and Alan want her in the family very much and the
situation with Alan will work itself out. Then Emily drops the bomb that
she doesn't want to be there.

Damian gets the news that the proposed parking lot for Dayco butts up
against some wetlands where an endangered bird species lives. Katherine
says "oh, please" a lot and Damian figures it might be a cover for the
Wards & Spencers, not the overzealous greenies. He takes off to
investigate and talk to the city commissioner who rejected the building
permit.

Mac assures Kevin & Lucy that Katherine has promised to break up with
Damian as soon as he gets back from Milan. Lucy gets a real kick out of
that one. She's amazed and can't get over the fact that no one will
believe her about Katherine. Then she leaves to go feed Sigmund.

Mac asks Kevin if he's had any more visits from the undead. He reminds
him that if & when Ryan's Ghost appears to secure the premises and call
him, and watch what he says because the place may be bugged.

Katherine arrives at the Outback and apologizes for canceling last night
(when she boinked Damian). She asks for reinforcement; she's not totally
sure it's what she wants to do. She admits she can't imagine her life
without Damian. [This surprised me. The last thing I expected from her
was honesty, unless this is just another con I'm not immediately
recognizing.]

At the commissioner's office, Damian claims there's more going on than
meets the eye. He accuses the commissioner of taking a bribe from Edward
Quartermaine and threatens an investigation unless he lets Damain top the
Quartermaine's offer and authorize the parking lot construction in the
tweetiebird safe zone.

Monica tells Alan that Emily has knocked her off her high horse. They
talk about how embarrassing last week's family fight scene was with Emily
watching. Monica goes on again about how she's tried to get close to
Emily, blah, blah, blah [insert any other day's Monica scene here.]

Mac pumps up Katherine's ego a bit, but she's still hesitant about dumping
Damian. Mac tells her that he's not into competition and she either dumps
him or he doesn't.

At the lighthouse, Kevin sits down for a quiet read when the green smoke
appears with Ryan's maniacal laughter. The cloud quickly disappears and
Kevin calls Mac with the news. Mac tells Katherine to go do her thing
with Damian [bad word choice, big guy] and he takes off for Kevin's.

Alan apologies to Emily and tries to take the blame for the whole mess.
Emily tells him it makes her wonder if anything anyone in the family says
is true. He tells her about how the family sticks together no matter
what, and yes, there's a lot of yelling--everyone speaks up. He tries to
joke that she's the only person in the house that no one is mad at, which
falls flat. He tells her that they all love her and she's very important
to all of them. Alan continues his spiel about how much she's loved and
wanted in the family while she sits there with this look on her face like
Alan just ran over her dog.

Back at Damian's, Katherine pours herself a drink and gets the news from
Damian about his success in bribing the city commissioner. He suggests
celebrating at the Outback but she quickly snaps No. She starts to tell
him about something that happened with Mac while he was in Milan.

Over at the lighthouse, Kevin turns up the tunes [it was that U2 song that
plays during the closing credits of Batman Forever, for those who care].
Mac arrives and asks what Kevin saw. Mac whips out his tricorder and
starts scanning the room for modulated neutrino pulses and techyon fields
in the upper EM band.

Alan tells Monica how Emily completely shut him out. He also tells her
that Emily may not want to go through with the adoption and they may lose
her. Monica looks distressed some more.

Emily talks to Raoul about how she can't trust or believe anyone in the
house. [At least she's not talking to herself this time. Insert any
other recent Emily-thinks-out-loud scene here.]

Damian wants to know what happened with Katherine and Mac. Katherine
tells Damian that the "thing" that happened while he was gone wasn't with
Mac; actually, it was with Felicia. Damian gets a wicked grin and asks if
he can watch next time. [No, not really...] She says she had a fight
with Felicia and Mac took Filly's side. Therefore she wants to avoid them
at the Outback. He asks her how things are going with her sabotage plan
with the Charles Street foundation and when she plans on "letting Carla
loose."

At least fifteen minutes and several commercials later, that same U2 song
is playing at Kevin's place. Mac is busily scanning his tricorder along
the walls for anaphasic graviton particles and other stuff. All of a
sudden it starts beeping and he calls Kevin outside to tell him what's
up. He says that Ryan's voice is coming from sound devices hidden in the
stereo speakers and there's a micro-projection device buried inside one of
the walls and probably in the ceiling. [Wow. Forget the tricorder, where
can I get one of those holographic projectors?] They'll meet at the
Outback tomorrow to talk about what they can do next.

And that's all for Monday...
