                            GH Update for 09/22/95
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Scene 1
At the Outback, Mac and Kevin rehash the previous night's escapades. Mac
whines about the guy who hit on him. Lucy pops in to taunt Kevin about his
involvement with Norma and says she wants to see Eve and Norma right away to
discuss financial matters, knowing the guys will be interested.
Scene 2
Stone brings some publicity photos over to Mae Mae at the Ward House for her
approval. While there, he chats with John Hanley.
Scene 3
When Ned returns home after a sweaty run, he begins to bring up the subject of
Sonny, but Lois cuts him off immediately telling him it's time he backed off
and let her deal with Sonny and L&B. He argues that it's more than just L&B
since Sonny poses a physical threat to people. However, before long he
promises not to go after Sonny behind her back, and they head for the shower.
[What is it with showers on this show? Maybe it's part of the wet woman on GH
syndrome.]
Scene 4
John Hanley tells Stone about losing his lover to AIDS and how he came to be
working at the Ward House which he says helps him as much as them.
Scene 5
Lucy continues to complement Mac on his supposed relationship with Norma and
tells Kevin she really must have him meet Norma.
Scene 6
Brenda comes over to visit Lois and whine that even though she loves Lois and
Ned dearly she'd really like to scratch their eyes out for being so happy. She
goes on to say that if she had everything to do over again, she wouldn't wear
the wire. [Good thinking, Bren-duh, 'bout time some neurons fired (above the
waist that is)] She claims she knew the truth, but it was her pride that made
her do it. Needless to say [then why am I saying it], Lois is a bit hacked at
Brenda's backsliding.
Scene 7
LeeLee comes to the back room of Luke's to see Sonny. He apologizes for not
calling her, but she says love is never having to say you're sorry [no wait,
I'm having a bad movie flashback]. She really said that he never has to
explain to her where he was or who he was with [hmm, maybe *that's* what Ali
MacGraw meant after all]. They discuss Brenda and Sonny's lingering feelings.
He insists he's done with her, but LeeLee disagrees.
Scene 8
Kevin tries to double talk his way out of meeting Norma saying he needs to let
Lucy grow on her own, but Lucy, enjoying his discomfort immensely, continues to
press him until Katherine arrives to talk to Mac alone. When he immediately
asks her what Damian did now, she admits bitterly he split to Milano without
her.
Scene 9
Fisher-of-men Lucy throws out a line for Kevin saying Madame Maia is going to
let her see all the financial plans for the new Psychic Center. Taking the
bait, he asks if he could see the plans too. Lucy then sets the hook declaring
that they're just for the conference women.
Scene 10
Back at Luke's, LeeLee says even though she's over Miguel, Brenda still can't
have him. Sonny tells her Miguel is not worthy of her. Looking intently at
him, she says she's not thinking of Miguel now. With the fluid motion of a
spastic croupier, Sonny clears all the poker chips off the table and antes up
the eager LeeLee. The conversation went as follows:

LeeLee: Oh, Sonny, you always have such good hands.
Sonny: Yes, but you sure have a nice pair there.
LeeLee (with a flush): But I'm not sure I can take your straight.
Sonny: Depends on what you have in the hole.

Scene 11
Alan presents Stone to speak to a class of kids (which includes Emily) about
how he got AIDS. When one of the girls says her boyfriend won't wear a condom,
Stone suggests she take control of her own life. The boyfriend, however, who
incidentally was voted most likely to stick a PEZ dispenser in one of his
orifaces, takes umbrage with this advice and confronts Stone. Alan has to
intervene before they come to blows and escorts the teenage cretin and
cretiness out of the room, leaving Stone to openly question the class,
"Doesn't anyone get it?"
Scene 12
LeeLee and Sonny have a post-coital chit-chat as well as search for a couple of
red chips which seem to have gotten lost somewhere.
Scene 13
Brenda explains to Lois that she just wanted some sense of control over Sonny.
Lois attempts to put a different spin on the distasteful thought saying what
Brenda really wanted was respect [ya, right, that was it sure].
Scene 14
Outside the lecture room, a student tells another that he was just lectured to
by that guy with AIDS over there. As the latter walks by Stone, he mutters,
"faggot." Stone stops him and angrily tells the kid about John Hanley's work
and says faggot is a cruel word for someone who can love that much.
Scene 15
Katherine, finding no solace or compassion in Mac, storms out just as Ned
arrives to mooch some coffee and discuss Sonny. Despite his promise to Lois,
Ned tells Mac that it's full speed ahead on the Sonny investigation but warns
mums the word to Lois and splits as Madame Maia pops in.
Scene 16
Emily and Lucky talk about Stone and how their lives don't look so bad, but
Emily makes a valid point that she would like to be able to feel bad about
things in her life without guilt, even though she knows other people may have
it worse. She says Raul is behaved enough for her to sleep over if his mother
wouldn't mind. Lucky says great and asks how things are going at the Q's. She
tells him sadly that they'll have to work out, because she doesn't have
anywhere else to go.
Scene 17
Ned returns home and finds Lois bitching and fretting even as she tries to
practice yoga to achieve inner peace and tranquility. He gives her a beautiful
bracelet [guilt, perhaps at his deceit] which she loves; however, she uses the
word honesty a bit too many times for Ned's taste.
Scene 18
Kevin and Mac wish they could quit the masquerade, but they naively feel that
they are near bagging Madame Maia.
Scene 19
Meanwhile, Lucy and Madame Maia plot yet another excruciating evening for the
deluded drag queens.
