Date: Sun, 3 Sep 1995 14:11:47 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 09/01/95 (Corrected) GH Update for 09/01/95 By John R. Andrews, UIC Today's episode contained several very well acted scenes, particularily between Luke and Laura. Also, the scenes of Mac and Kevin are wonderful and really need to be seen to be appreciated. I urge the Web page keepers to be sure to add some entries of Mac and Kevin in drag, and a couple of sound bites of their "accents" would be great. Scene 1 At GH, Alan looks for Monica who is missing without notice. Tom appears and threatens to make a scene if Simone won't join him for lunch to discuss the divorce papers served on him. Scene 2 At Kelly's Sonny jokes to LeeLee that he got suckered into going camping with Luke and Lucky. She finds the whole idea of Sonny roughing it amusing. Scene 3 At the house, Luke and Lucky prepare for camping. Laura arrives and is surprised at the plans she wasn't told about. Luke angrily counters that she went behind his back to Sonny. He tells her that buying out Sonny is not an option. She tries to explain that she was just trying to help, but he's not buying into her motivations. Scene 4 Sonny and LeeLee banter easily about his camping, or rather lack of, skills. She tells him she never camped and isn't dumb enough to start now. [I have, and I agree with her.] Brenda arrives, and LeeLee splits. Afterwards, Sonny saunters over to Brenda and asks with a touch of venom, "How's the video, and, uh, Mee-gel?" Scene 5 Madame Maia tells Lucy that she's excited that big time expert, Dr. Norma St. John-Pahwah [a note for non-Anglophiles, St. John is pronounced "sin-gin"], will be attending the seminar. Of course, we all know it will be Kevin in drag. Scene 6 Mac and Kevin humorously play dress-up and practice walking in high heels [you really should see this to truly appreciate it], while working on their English accents. Scene 7 Tom kvetches to Simone that he can't believe she'd actually divorce him. She says believe it. He argues that she may say it, but it's just her pride speaking. [Men. They just can't seem to understand that when a woman says yes, she means yes.] Scene 8 In a particularly well acted scene, Laura continues to bring up the tape of Sonny, but Luke won't listen to her argument. He maintains Sonny isn't the problem, and Laura and he had an agreement when they settled in PC; She got her house and roses, and he got the club. She wants to know what good is their bargain with Sonny if Luke won't use it. The argument grows in intensity until Luke explodes saying, "If you want me to stay out of your life, stay out of mine." When he calls to Lucky to get ready, Laura asks, "Without discussing it?" But Luke snaps back bitterly, "Don't even try it! I'm taking my son camping." Scene 9 Brenda tells Sonny Miguel is none of his business, but Sonny replies, "Yes, he is." Besides he wants to see some money coming back from L&B. Scene 10 Lila and Emily discuss quilting as Emily tries to finish a quilt her mother started. Alan comes in and asks about the still missing Monica, then stops to chat with Emily who seems to be growing up at soap speeds in real life. Scene 11 At GH, Bobby asks Tony about Monica; he asks if she's been avoiding him. "Just a little," she answers. They discuss therapy, and this time he is reaching out to her, but she's a bit remote. Scene 12 In very well-acted scene, as Lucky prepares to leave, Laura and he get embroiled in another emotional confrontation. He blames her for their family's problems and says Loulou is better off since she doesn't remember how it used to be, then leaves his mother teary-eyed while he goes outside to wait for his father. Scene 13 Simone gripes to Justus about Tom. He advises her not to let Tom use Tommy to guilt-trip her and to let him see Tom again. Scene 14 Hilariously, Kevin and Mac in dresses and wigs keep practicing their accents while Kevin confers with Norma St. John-Pahwah on the phone for instructions on how to wrap a sari. When a delivery man comes to the door, they get a chance to show off their "stuff." After he leaves, Kevin expresses his concern that Mac is "liking this too much" when Mac claims the guy was attracted to him. Scene 15 In the woods, Sonny is not exactly Daniel Boone and stands around watching while Luke builds a lean-to. Meanwhile, Lucky wanders off alone into the woods. [I hope they don't do any lame-oid thing with him] Scene 16 Alan moans to Bobbie that he thought they decided to work on their respective marriages. He wonders why she was so honest with Tony, and when Tony suddenly appears announcing, "I found her," Alan looks startled and guilty, but Tony continues, "Monica, I found Monica." [Note from The Contra-Costa Times courtesy of KE: Monica sneaked off for her reconstructive surgery.]
