Subject: gh update 8/28 Date: Mon, 28 Aug 95 14:57:46 PDT From: kathy@gundog.lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) The General Hospital "Real Time" Update for Monday, August 28, 1995 The grizzled philosopher/martyr and the sensitive new-age girl ================================================================= Lucy visits Luke to tell him how sorry she is about Lucky getting hurt in his go-cart accident. She tells him that he's had more than his share of grief lately. She tries to gently pry some info about how he and Laura are doing. Luke replies that the situation couldn't be worse. He gasses away about his and Laura's relationship, mostly placing the blame on Laura. Lucy draws a parallel between his and Laura's relationship and hers and Kevin's. Luke cautions Lucy not to change anything about herself in order to please Kevin. She tunes into Luke and has a "psychic" message about something in his and Laura's past. Unimpressed, he dryly suggests that he should book her "act" into the club. Then Lucy explains how she snaps the rubber bands on her wrist every time she's tempted to blab about her secrets. Luke tells her that he thinks he knows the secret she's keeping; he promises she'll be very sorry if she spills the beans. Maia strolls in and says she was "drawn" to Luke's. Lucy starts to blat on about her "psychic vision" and Maia congratulates her. Lucy tells her she can't wait for the conference. Maia asks her if she can keep a secret; she's thinking of establishing a center for women who want to cultivate their psychic powers. Lucy says she's good at raising money and that PC would be a perfect site for such a center. Maia says she was thinking about Evanston, IL, where she has some land. Maia exits; she's got lots to do before the conference. Kevin wanders in and joins Lucy. She immediately starts in on her "psychic vision" she had for Luke. She merrily chatters away about the psychic center but Kevin is totally skeptical about Maia's motives. That's not a bar of soap...and, WHOOPS!, that's NO rope! =========================================================== Damian starts to work up a snarl for Mac and KatyBell, who underwent "scrubbus interruptus" when he walked in. Outside the bathroom, Damian mixes a drink and gets angry at Mac who refuses to be drawn into his rage. Mac says that Katy's not satisfied with Damian's wedge of cheese and he'd better hunker down and work hard to keep the slippery gal under his thrall or his Gouda will simply roll away. "Next time I may not show much restraint" retorts Mac [rather churlishly this updater thought] as he leaves. Damian and Katy argue. He congratulates her on getting his attention in such a dramatic way but denigrates her choice of beefcake. She replies that it was nice spending time with a man who didn't have Lucy on his mind. He backs down and agrees to go to Italy with her. Damian admits he IS jealous, despite his attempts to be blase. Katy says she's attracted to Mac. First, flirting with Mac was a game, a way to get even with Damian, but she said it turned more serious when Mac responded to her. Damian wants to be assured that what she feels for Mac isn't REALLY serious, though. Katy says she doesn't feel loved by Damian; he replies that they're too much alike. He says their insecurities feed on each other's. He rather eloquently states how he sees their relationship and he promises to never leave her. She says she wants him in her life. They kiss, etc. Kath tells him that she'll give up Mac if he'll give up Lucy; she wants to be numbah one with Big D. He agrees she'll always be "on top"! Doc, it hurts when I do THIS. Then don't do THAT! ===================================================== Robin phones Stone, whose vision seems to have stabilized under the influence of the new AIDS drugs. He wants to see her and she explains about having a sore throat, etc. Stone is upset and guilty. He insists that Robin tell Mac about being sick; she says she'll tell him tomorrow. Mac returns home later on to find Robin in bed. He asks her why she's not working at the Charles Street Foundation. She lamely replies that she's taking a day off. Mac spies the antibiotics and Robin explains that she's got a sore throat. "It's not what you're thinking" she tells worried Unkie Mac. "Probably not" he agrees. Meanwhile, at GH, a frantic Stone is searching for Alan. Amy promises to round up the dithering Doc [hint to Amy: try the linen closet with Bobbie]. Mac buzzes over to GH and has a meeting with Alan. Mac fills Stone in on what he learned but that they all have to wait until the HIV test results come back before they can breathe easy. In a touching conversation with Mac, Stone lays his emotions bare to Mac about how he feels about Robin. Stone admits to Mac that he feels like Robin's executioner and is consumed with guilt about what he might have done. He drones on, getting more upset, and starts to cry. Wordlessly, Mac embraces him and Stone cries and snots into Unkie's manly shoulder.
