From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (N.J.Spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, August 23, 1995 Date: 24 Aug 1995 15:52:08 GMT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, August 23, 1995 Today's Stories A Man With A Plan A Sudden Jolt Divided Loyalty Fizzle Fallout A Man With A Plan ----------------- Justus visits Simone at GH. He has a plan to move her divorce forward but isn't sure if she'll like it. He wants her to file for divorce on grounds of abandonment, file for full custody of Tommy, restrain Tom from living at the brownstone and sue for child support, even retroactive child support, since Tom is not being reasonable. Simone does want Justus' representation but hates going to these extreme measures. However, since she doesn't want to reconcile with Tom she is faced with no other choice. She signs the papers. Justus then visits Tom in Tom's office and lays out the legal actions about to be filed against him. Tom's response is full of sarcasm and Tom finds the actions excessive and punitive. Justus lets Tom know it's just the beginning. Tom isn't frightened, this is nothing compared to what Tom faced in Africa. Later Tom comes about Simone near the nurses station. He lets her know he can't believe that what Justus has told him is "her" choice. They each believe the other's actions are unconscionable. Tom's hope is to regain Simone by refusing to agree....he won't sign the papers. The only conclusion they can come to is that they are both using Tommy. Tom closes the conversation by announcing he won't be kept from his son. A Sudden Jolt ------------- Luke returns to the club with the good news about Lucky. Luke is also feeling hopeful that this crisis will put him and Laura back on track. (Oops Luke wrong idea!) While Luke is upbeat, Sonny has more of his own problems. Sonny tells about the fizzled plan to get Ned and that now Lois is truly mad at him. Sonny isn't about to give in...it's a stand off. Luke wonders if maybe Sonny shouldn't take the $$ from Ned and run but Sonny isn't about to roll over and play dead. With that Sonny heads off to visit Stone. Laura arrives at the club to see Luke and first questions to find out if Sonny is present. Luke can't believe she actually went to Ned to hear "the tape." Luke tries to claim the tape has no bearing on the Spencers but Laura doesn't buy that. "Sonny is a full-blown mobster" and as soon as Laura says that she realizes Luke has known all along. Luke is convinced Laura knew all along as well. Then Luke brings up the goons that attacked "Laura" because of her stance on the incinerator and tries to use that as an example of "your fight is my fight" but Laura doesn't buy it... then they were the good guys. That really gets to Luke, now he thinks she doesn't love him anymore. [Get a grip Luke.....] Laura can't convince Luke she still loves him. He feels blindsided and that she listened to the tape to find reasons to leave. He feels she has thwarted his attempts to get back [what attempts...you don't see her point at all Luke] and suggests she walk out, and if she won't he will. He heads to the office. Laura sobs and finally leaves. Later Luke is drowning in his booze when Mike comes in. Mike can tell not is all well. Mike takes his life in his own hands...he warns Luke to think long and hard about walking away, or allowing Laura to push Luke away...as Luke claims it is. It happened once to Mike with a woman he lived and breathed and there are some things once left behind that one can not get back. Divided Loyalty ---------------- The bright and cheerful Braindead and Migless duo arrive to visit Stone. They talk about Stone's billing on the video but as the "closeness" of the duo is apparent [but oh how sickening] the conversation becomes awkward. Stone has a problem, anyone who hurts Sonny hurts Stone. Brainless tries to let Stone know she has "put herself and Sonny in the past" and it has nothing to do with Stone. Braindead actually understands Stone's feelings but claims she's been hurt too. Migless even offers to step aside to make things easier. The duo want Stone to be able to accept their friendship. Stone admits holding grudges isn't good for his karma. Then Migless notices the sand from the "beach party" and they laugh about the fun until Sonny arrives. He offers to come back later but Braindead has to follow him out into the hall. She tries to suggest they call a truce for Stone's sake when they are around Stone. Sonny would rather they avoid each other so Stone can have some peace of mind. Sonny walks off to return later and Braindead returns to Stone's room. She puts on a "happy" face saying she told Sonny they have to be civil around Stone and that Sonny "agreed." Later Sonny visits an obviously tired Stone and tells Stone not to fight Sonny's battles, Stone has much more important ones. It's ok with Sonny for Stone to be friends with the brainless duo. Stone notes that Brenda still gets to Sonny...Sonny can't be in the same room with her. Sonny claims that's not the case and yawning, suggests Stone get some rest. Fizzle Fallout -------------- When Lois returns Ned isn't thrilled to learn she visited Sonny, even if all she did was throw the pictures at Sonny and tell Sonny in no uncertain terms what she thinks of him. Ned is concerned that Sonny could be gunning for them and that they need to get their strategy in place. Lois doesn't have the patience to setup a strategy...she'd rather just face the blows head on. One thing Lois is certain of, she doesn't want Brenda to know Sonny was behind the blackmail, figuring Brenda is dealing with enough as it is. Later Brenda comes by and is surprised to see Lois in a good mood, considering the mood Lois was in when Brenda left. Lois explains she believed Ned, especially when he showed Lois the photos with the bimbo and that it was a shakedown. Brenda immediately thinks it was Sonny but Lois says Ned told her these kind of strong-armed tactics have plagued the Qs before. Then Brenda mentions seeing Sonny at the hospital. As much as she's hurting she sees Sonny is hurting deep inside...and saw a piece of the child in him with his concern for Stone. Lois warns Brenda not to feel sorry for Sonny. Brenda's better off without him. Till Next Time -- (c) Nancy Spera, 1995 - reprint permission to other bbs - available from "njs@chevron.com". -- -- Nancy J.
