Subject: gh update 8/21/95 Date: Mon, 21 Aug 95 14:58:06 PDT From: kathy@gundog.lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, August 21, 1995 He Ain't Heavy -- He's my Ectoplasmic Manifestation! ============================================================================== Lucy and Maia chat over coffee at the PC Hotel. Maia tells Lucy that she can sense something is troubling her. Lucy says that Kevin would like Maia to keep her insights about Ryan to herself. Maia agrees to knock off the RyBaby stuff. She tells Lucy that the root cause of Kevin's problem is Ryan...himself! In another part of town, Kevin meets with Mac and tells him about Ryan's ghost. He tells Mac that he saw an apparition materialize in Lucy's apartment. Mac is totally skeptical and Kevin explains it. He says there was a light that had a shape to it, a semi-translucent light that spoke. "We heard a voice that seemed to emanate from the light" said Kevin. He said he recognized the voice as Ryan's. Then Lucy ran outside and the light disappeared. Kevin insists that "something happened" here and wants Mac to find out what happened. Mac says he's not a ghost-buster. Kevin wants Mac to find out if the voice of Ryan was man-made or not; whether he was set up or not. Mac says that stuff like this is way out of his league. Kevin insists that Mac sweep the house and look for hidden microphones, etc. Mac reluctantly agrees to have the place swept; he'll call in a special team. Meanwhile, the gals are still quacking over coffee. Lucy asks Maia if she really believes the dead exist someplace else in another form. Maia says that dead people haven't traveled a distance but are merely in a different "space". Lucy asks her what if Ryan came back...what form would he take? Maia questions her and Lucy blabs about what happened the night before. She says that Ryan appeared as a blob of light and spoke to them ("Keh-eh-eh-vinnnnn"). She tells Lucy to overcome her fears. Lucy gets all excited and wonders if she has "the gift" (of second sight) because she was able to see Kevin's "ghost". Maia agrees that she might have special powers that could have lain dormant for years. Maia tells Lucy that her powers sharpened Kevin's sense of perception and allowed him to see Ryan's "ghost". Lucy asks for Maia to teach her; Maia warns that it's more a responsibility than a gift. Then Maia invites Lucy to join her seminar on Spiritual Women [Womyn??]. Lucy is jazzed. Later on, Maia checks in with Damian and says she invited Lucy to the seminar. She also tells Damian about Ryan's ghost; Damian doesn't seem shocked. Maia tells him he's outdone himself this time and will he have a guy in a sheet pop out at Kevin and Lucy next time? Over at the apartment, Mac gets the verdict that the place is clean of bugs. Kevin starts to freak out at the possibility that the ghost may have been real. When You're Out of Brain Surgery, Young Man, will YOU be in the Doghouse!! ============================================================================= Over at GH, Lucky is finished with surgery and, in Tony's words, is holding his own. Tony is encouraged and fills the family in. Luke is worried because Lucky isn't awake yet; Tony suggests they talk to Lucky and it might help him come around sooner. Bobbie mentions that it's Lucas' birthday. Laura starts talking to Lucky, pleading with him to wake up. They tell him that they know what happened to him was an accident, just wake up. Then Luke and Laura start to blather on about the old days and what a cute, impish scamp Lucky was. Laura orders the kid to open his eyes and he obeys, sick to death of listening to them gas about the past. They fill in Lucky on what happened. He promises to wear a helmet in the future. [a double-yawner] Outside the room, Luke talks to Laura. He tells her that Lucky is aching to have them reconciled again. He says that getting back together is way overdue; they're a family so why not get together again. Nope, she says, not yet. Ned is confused: is this the afternoon following the morning after the night before...or what? ============================================================================= Brenda breezes into the gatehouse and runs into an angry and tearful Lois. "My weasel has come out of his hole again!" she tells Brenda. Brenda begs for an explanation and Lois tells her that some babe answered the phone in Ned's room instead of hubby. Lois then says that she took a flight to Ned's hotel and found him passed out, covered in lipstick and stinking of cheap perfume. Brenda tells her to slow down and that there has to be a rational explanation for his condition. Just then Ned blows in and says he needs help. He tells Lois that he woke up with a bad head and surrounded with cheap underwear. Then he asks her if she was in his hotel room. He doesn't remember a thing but he knows he's in troule! Lois tells him that he's been busted. She's hurt and says that despite his promises, he's back to his old cheating ways. Brenda splits. Ned says that no matter what she thinks, nothing happened. He tells her what he remembered. He was in the hotel bar..alone..and a fan came over. Then he had a drink and felt sick. The next thing he remembered was waking up this morning with a bad head. Ned pleads with her to believe him. Lois tells him that she saw all the evidence in his hotel room and it looks bad. He reiterates that he did nothing with that, or any other, woman. Ned tells her that Lois had a hard time waking him up, didn't she? She agrees. So how could he do "anything" in his condition. And why would this mysterious woman leave her underwear around, he asks [good question, Nedly]? He says he couldn't have cheated on her and he knows she believes him, underneath. Lois stops to think about it and agrees that there's something fishy going on. But still, she's got her nagging doubts. Okay, she says she believes him and forgives him. They end up hugging and kissing. The phone rings and Ned answers. It's Sonny and he wants to see Ned "pronto"...Ned agrees and says he'll meet him at Luke's Club. Over at Luke's Sonny gloats over the candid snaps of Ned and the bimbette. Ned ambles in and Sonny hands him the photos of the night before. end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end end
