From: chips@eskimo.com Subject: GH: Update Tues July 18 General Hospital Tues July 18, 1995 The fallouts continue ... Stone comes down to Luke's Place on his way out to the hospital to see if he made it into a test group and sees Sonny having morning coffee at the bar. Stone makes a crack about Brenda and is stunned when Sonny tells him that Brenda is outta there. Sonny tells him the whole story and how it didn't turn out the way he had hoped, with him and Brenda laughing about the whole thing. Stone comments that this puts him in a strange position as his girl is Brenda's best friend and he works for Brenda. Sonny tells him not to say a word to anyone about what happened or happens. Stone goes on his appointment with Alan, Robin in tow. Alan tells him that he is in the test group. Stone then tells Robin that Brenda & Sonny split and that someone had tipped off Sonny about the wire. Luke gets a visit from Bobi who asks him to move to Ruby's and tells him why. He makes a crack about the woman in his life showing him the door and regrets it when he sees Bobi's reaction. Anyway, he agrees readily enough. Luke gets further bad vibes from Sonny, who is doing bookkeeping early in the morning. He ascertains that Sonny is worried about things and Luke knows that his chances with Laura fall as Sonny's trouble increase. Luke rushes off to the Outback to demand that Mac layoff. Mac stands up to Luke. Luke says Mac has nothing but suppositions. McUgly (who had just come in) says isn't it funny how everybody is supposing the same thing. Luke then accuses Mac of going after Sonny to get back at Stone. Mac tells Luke to take his pop-psychology and stuff it. Luke then tries the nice route [he is really desperate] and Mac just tells Luke that Sonny was a known commodity when he went into partnership with him, and the heat was going to increase if anything. Ned and Lois come back from upstate NY and find Brenda and McUgly sleeping at the studio. They realize it is not good news and hear all the details about Sonny's discovery. Ned is thrilled that Brenda is split from Sonny, Lois is upset that Brenda is so unhappy [My take on Brenda- You reap what you sow, and she acted so blindly to what was going on, that i've got no sympathy.] and ponders what to do. Robin comes by to comfort Brenda and mentions what Stone said about Sonny being forewarned. EdQ and Lila are having breakfast with EdQ complaining about the CSF press conference and Ned's lack of being there. Allan,Monica and Emily enter the room. Lila asks about the trip to Arizona and Emily gives a nice description of the scattering of ashes ceremony. Then EdQ starts ripping into Allan and Monica about the CSF fiasco. Allan, remarkably, sticks up for AJ. The trio really start arguing about who was responsible for the mess to begin and about the press conference. Emily looks on with trepidation and asks L I N E O F T H E D A Y "Does AJ always get into such trouble?" Lila calls for a halt to the proceedings. Monica and Allan try to make nice with Emily but she is not receptive and leaves to get her self resettled. The trio start arguing again a few minutes later and when EdQ says 'Who should be blamed?' Ned walks in. He joins in the fun and maintains that his not being there was a bonus, as it showed that ELQ did not consider this a big deal and besides, how are the breakfast pastries. Emily had re-entered the room and is stunned to see yet another hot and heavy argument. Much later on, Ned is reading some boring business reports in the den when Emily passes by with Raoul. He starts telling her how he was scared as a child when the family started arguing. As an escape, he used to go to a room which had old pictures of Q's. Ned sees Monica standing in the doorway, but doesn't mention it and keeps on talking to Emily. That room is now in the East Wing, and the next time Emily gets caught in the same room as an argument she could go looking for it. She must keep in mind though, that the Qs argue as a way of communication and they would fight twice as fierce against an outside intrusion. He then looks up and says Hi to Monica. Emily gives her another cold shoulder and leaves looking for Raoul. Before Monica can even sigh, Ned tells her that he has it easier dealing with Emily since he doesn't remind Emily of Paige and he was somewhat an orphan himself. Monica says thanks. Lois goes to Luke's Place to confront Sonny. He accuses her of betrayal, she says look at the stove calling the kettle black. She demands that Sonny get out of L&B, he says he never got L&B involved with business and refuses. She threatens, he comes back with lawsuits. Lois goes back to Q mansion and tells Ned about going to Sonny. Ned says let the lawsuits begin, the Qs can bleed Sonny dry and are more vicious. Lois goes to the studio, where Brenda is pacing and trying to figure out who could've tipped off Sonny. For some dumb reason, Lois starts thinking outloud and comes up with Lily. Brenda storms out to Ruby's to find Lily. Ruby is there and sees that Brenda is unhappy, though pleased to find out why. Lily then enters the cafe.
