Subject: gh update 7/17/95 Date: Tue, 18 Jul 95 08:02:12 PDT From: kathy@gundog.lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, July 17, 1995 At the Outback Club... Filly pokes at Mac over his horseplay with KatyBell. Damian wanders in, looking for his cowgirl, and is told she went home after the seltzer fight with Mac. Lucy blows in and engages in an exchange of unpleasantries with Damian. Then Damian tries another tack; he wants to draw Lucy in and figures she's a sucker for psychic experiences. He tells her he saw an apparition while he was lying, gravely wounded, in the catacombs. True, he did see the ghost of Catacomb Charlie, but now he embellishes the tale into a near-death experience. Eagerly, Lucy responds and tells D about her own near-death experience after the birth of Serena. Damian nods understandingly. Then Lucy gets hold of herself and pulls back (physically, emotionally, spiritually) from Damian. She tells him that they can never be "close" because of the terrible thing they did to the Jones' marriage. Damian insists that they've got a psychic connection and that they're destined to remain connected. Lucy surprises him when she tells him to stop trying to fool her by acting like a nice normal person. He claims that he intuitively knows that Kevin isn't the right man for her. She lectures him on how strong her feelings are for the Kevin-Bunny and then surprises him by wishing him luck in his own spiritual quest. Damian gives up and goes home. As they are closing up, Filly confronts Mac about his spending time with Kath. She says that Kath is a con artist; Mac responds that KatyBell is bad because of Damian's influence and that she's okay by herself. ===================== ===================== ===================== At Luke's Place... Luke and Stone mess around together. They discuss the experimental drugs Stone is about to take. Luke tells the kid to remain optimistic. [much fast forwarding here...sorry to disappoint Stone-lovers, but it's just too boring]. At Sonny's apartment above the club... Sonny and Brenda face off. A horrible scene. Sonny is holding the tape recorder. "It's all here, Brenda, the whole ugly truth!" he says, his teensy mobster voice trembling with emotion. Then he plays back their last, emotional conversation while Brenda, in tears, tells him that her recording wasn't a betrayal. Then Sonny starts trashing the place, screaming at her and demanding to know where the rest of the tape recorders are hidden. He tells her to take the tape to Mac or Garcia or whomever she's working for. He then admits that he knew in advance of her plans to record him. Brenda wants to know who ratted her out. Then she tries to tell Sonny why she agreed to tape him; she says if he had only told her the truth in the beginning that none of this ugly scene would be happening now. She clings to him but he shoves her aside and she falls down and cries as he storms downstairs. He slams some furniture around to get Luke and Mike's attention then tells them that Brenda was trying to record him saying something incriminating about... Without really saying "about WHAT?" Sonny tells Luke he's heading outside to cool off. Upstairs, Brenda is sobbing and wandering around the trashed-out room. She cradles the photos of Sonny as a child and cries some more. Then she starts tossing her things into a duffel bag. Tearfully, she stumbles down to the club. Mike and Luke are stunned when she admits to wearing a wire to record Sonny. Brenda then tells them that Sonny has been lying to everyone, not just her, about his involvement with organized crime. Luke is silent here, undoubtedly he's picturing what Laura's reaction would be to THIS little gem of news if she was to hear of it. When Brenda challenges them, Mike is silent but Luke gets all defensive about whether or not he knew about Sonny and his "connections". Finally, Brenda wonders aloud to the boys if they knew who ratted her out to Sonny. Mike looks as wise as a "tree full of owls" but stays quiet. Brenda leaves for the gatehouse. Shortly thereafter, Miguel comes in looking for her. He tells Luke and Mike that she had been upset at their rehearsal. Mike tells him to try the gatehouse. Mig does find Brenda, sobbing on the couch in the gatehouse. Quietly, he sits down behind her and puts his arms around her. "I've got nobody" she wails. "You've got me" he says, softly planting a kiss on her head. In another part of town, Sonny is wandering the docks. LeLee, who is sitting in Kelly's, spies him through the window and hurries after him. He tells her that she was right about Brenda, about everything. She grabs his cappelini-like arm and he covers her hand with his own. "You're a true friend" he tells her. end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end end ------- End of Forwarded Message
