                            GH Update for 07/15/95
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Scene 1
[Chicago Weather Alert...Heat Index hits 115. In layman's terms that means
hotter than a convict just before a conjugal visit.]
Scene 2
Lucy chit-chats with Luke about her stock market bonanza. She wants him to
meet Madame Maia there later.
Scene 3
Meanwhile, Madame Maia fills Damian in on the progress of her dealings with
Lucy. Damian suggests that he bump into them at Luke's.
Scene 4
Brenda tells Mac that she was on the verge of taping Sonny but couldn't do it.
Felicia joins in the questioning and urging. However, Felicia says Brenda must
be certain, or it will be too dangerous, and they can find another way to nail
her scum of a boyfriend, no offense. Eventually, Brenda insists that she'll go
through with it but again refuses to promise she'll turn over the tape
afterwards.
Scene 5
Lucy blabbers to Luke about coffee; then, they briefly discuss Laura with Lucy
expressing her opinion Laura is making a big mistake. Madame Maia arrives and
immediately senses a strong aura around Luke. Luke suggests that perhaps it's
because he hasn't showered yet since his two week camping trip.
Scene 6
Lily sits down at Ruby's for a quick cup'o joe. Miguel stops by on the way out,
and surprisingly, they have a cordial conversation about his video.
Scene 7
Katherine bellies up to the Outback bar and starts a not unwelcomed flirting
conversation with Mac much to Felicia's annoyance.
Scene 8
Damian stops by Lucy's and Madame Maia's table at Luke's and after Lucy
seemingly introduces them, Damian feigns extensive familiarity with
Madame Maia's work as Lucy sits by incredulously. [Buzz, buzz, Lucy, wake up
and smell the coffee you're buying.] He claims he's always wanted a reading
from her, so she does a quick aural readout and announces that he is drawn
between a dark angel and light angel. She feels the light one will win in the
end.
Scene 9
At L&B, Miguel embraces and comforts an obviously distraught Brenda. She tells
him Sonny has hurt her. They decide to practice their dancing for the video,
but soon Brenda breaks down sobbing.
Scene 10
[A highly amusing scene] Back at the Outback, Katy Bell and Mac continue their
extended mating ritual. As they banter, she playfully picks up a seltzer bottle
and aims it threateningly at Mac who responds by grabbing the bar dispenser and
pointing it at her. When a patron yells out, "Heads up! Seltzer fight," Mac
says not to worry she's just bluffing; however, she wasn't and shoots him in
the chest. He immediately blasts her with a soaking stream, and the situation
erupts with people scurrying away from the fight while cheering on both sides.
When Felicia tries to intervene, Katy gives her a good shot too. Finally,
under a withering fire from the bar hose, Katherine surrenders laughing. Mac,
also soaked to the skin, strips to the waist for a gratuitous show of beefcake
before going off to change his shirt. While he's away, Katherine takes her
leave to the supportive cheers of the crowd. On returning, Mac learns from
Felicia that Katy has left, so he goes after her. Outside, he insists that she
allow him to give her a ride home, as Felicia glares at them from the window.
Scene 11
Back at Luke's, Brenda shows up to see Sonny, but first Lucy latches on to her
and introduces her to Madame Maia. Later, as Madame Maia touches both Damian
and Lucy, to Lucy's horror, she claims a phenomenal electricity exists between
them.
Scene 12
Upstairs, Sonny fondles Brenda as usual; she asks for a hug before she starts
the interrogation. She also asks that he be straight with her. When he goes
to get her a requested brandy, she turns on the recorder. She tells him she
knows something is going on and wants to know everything. What he was under
Frank Smith; what he is now.
Scene 13
Lucy insists there must be a mistake, and Damian pretends agreement. As he
leaves to sit at the bar, Madame Maia tells him enigmatically not to neglect
his business at home. Afterwards, she tells Lucy that Lucy and Damian may have
had a connection in past lives.
Scene 14
Mac delivers Katherine home, and they banter a bit on her porch. When he asks
about Damian, she snaps she doesn't care about Damian. Finally, she invites
him up for a drink.
Scene 15
When Lucy goes off to powder her nose, Madame Maia talks briefly with Damian at
the bar. When he mentions her nice touch about saying he should mind his
business at home, "That was no touch," she replies, "that was the truth."
Scene 16
Meanwhile back at KT's place, Mac declines her drink but thanks her for the
offer. As she turns to go in, Katherine stops and returns to tickle Mac's
tonsils with her tongue. "Looks like you ain't a private dick anymore,"
she teased afterwards looking at his noticeably bulging pants.
Scene 17
Sonny tells Brenda she asks a lot and that he trusted her more than any other
woman [big deal, it doesn't take much to be greater than zero]. Chokingly, he
tells her that he loved her and thought she loved him too. When she replies
that she does, he plaintively asks, "Then why do this?" As he takes her in his
arms and kisses her, he suddenly pulls the recorder out of her jacket. She
covers her face in shame and fear while he glares at her with a very cold and
menacing look.
