General Hospital Update for Monday, July 10, 1995

Lucy visits Kevin at GH and tells him she's begged another appointment with
Madame Maia. In her room at the PC Hotel, Maia and Damian go "nyah-AH-AH"
together and discuss their plot to ruin Lucy. Damian tells Maia to tell Lucy
to invest in coffee futures. He figures coffee will rise in price because of
a frost in South America. This should ensure Lucy's confidence in Maia and
then Maia can start Damian's campaign to break Lucy and Kevin up. Sure
enough, later on Maia tells Lucy to expect "bad behavior from Doctor Kevin"!

At the gatehouse, Brenda tells Ned that she has doubts about tricking Sonny
into telling her mob stuff. Ned replies that she'll actually be helping Sonny
in the long run to extricate himself from the mob's influence. Mac arrives
and tosses in his $.02. Brenda finally agrees to wear the wire. Mac calls in
Garcia and tells him what's going on. Garcia doesn't like it that Mac bugged
Harry's office, and likes it even less when Brenda starts dictating terms.
She wants to wear a mini tape recorder so that only she and Sonny are privvy
to their conversation. Then Brenda will decide whether or not to give the
tape to the police [wonder where she's going to hide it??]. Garcia reluctantly
agrees but both he and Mac tell Brenda that they can't protect her if they
can't hear what's going on. Brenda dumbly asks them what she has to be
afraid of??

Tom sees Simone at GH and they discuss the anonymous letter that accuses both
the Charles Street Foundation and the Quartermaines of "sharp business
practices". Tom tries to get in a dig at Justus, but Simone staunchly
defends her big pork chop. Then Simone ends up fawningly thanking Tom over
and over [what for?].

Meanwhile, Ned has taken over damage control at the Q mansion. He soothes
Edward's savage breast and says he'll handle Tom personally. Ned and Tom meet
later that day and Ned promises to whip the Charles St Foundation into shape
if Tom agrees to not make the letter public. Tom agrees. Poor Ned, unknown
to him KatyBell, who has been tearing apart the newspaper looking for the
Charles Street Foundation "scandal", is fed up with her plans going awry. She
phones the newspaper and gives them an anonymous tip, mentioning tax fraud,
the Charles St. Foundation and the Quartermaines. She leaves the reporter
salivating over the juicy news.

Lastly, Ned and Lois travel to Schenectady so Eddie Maine can be interviewed
by some radio bimbo. They'll only be gone overnight.
