General Hospital Update for Monday, June 26, 1995

Our favorite Port Chuckians rise and greet the dawn...

In the Scorpio kitchen Mac and Robin continue to thrash. Robin confesses she
didn't sleep at all the night before after she told Mac about Stone. Mac ad-
mits that he was wrong to yell at Felicia about advising Robin to go on the
pill. Robin insists Mac feel some empathy for Stone; he replies he can't for-
give the young slug just yet. Mac tells her that he can only focus on Robin
and her health right now. He beats himself up for what happened and says he's
the one to blame for what happened. Robin assures him that as an uncle, he's
been the perfect loaf of lunchmeat and she loves him dearly.
Later on, Kevin is in his office at GH, on the phone, when Mac stumbles in
, looking bad. He tells Kevin that he needs help in understanding all the
ramifications of what Robin told him. Kevin calls Alan, who joins them and
explains exactly what it all means. He tells Mac that it's important for them
to maintain a positive attitude. After Alan leaves, Mac turns to Kevin and
says "what do I do now?" Dramatically, he blames himself for being
overprotective and driving Robin into having unprotected sex with a
one-eyebrowed pageboy-hairdo'd doofus. Kevin suggests that he take the blame
for the Middle East, too, since it makes about as much sense. Kevin tells him
he's learned that, ultimately, we can only be responsible for ourselves.

Lucy and Kevin breakfast together and she combs the newspaper for articles on
the Nurses Ball. Then she fixates on an advert about Madame Maia and Kevin
makes fun of the seeress. They bicker about Maia's presence in town and what
her motives might be. HE reiterates his warning to be careful and SHE repeats
that she's going to make an appointment to see Maia today. Lucy says she's
desperate to find out more about Serena. After another round of aardvarking
Kevin tries again to dissuade her. She leaps up and gets dressed to go in
search of Madame Maia's book signing.
And somewhere in Port Chuck, Maia is baiting the trap, setting her books out
and getting ready for the book signing.. Damian wanders in and the two of
them huddle. Maia tells D that Lucy is on the hook; D cackles with glee
["nyah-AH-AH!"]. Maia suggests that Damian give her a bonus for getting to
Lucy so quickly; he says he'll think about it. Lucy blows in to the book
signing, shoves her way to the front of the line and buys 10 copies of Maia's
tome. She also wants to make a private appointment with the psychic, but
Maia puts her off and says she's too busy. Of course, this makes Lucy even
more frantic to see her. Eventually, Maia "relents" and agrees to see Lucy
privately in her suite at 1:30 that afternoon.

Luke tells Stone that he's got a job for him. Stone asks him if he heard the
news; Luke says "what news?" Stone can't believe he didn't hear about it at
the Nurse's Ball the night before and he breaks the news about having AIDS.
Luke is stunned by the news. Stone said he was afraid Luke would be angry
with him. He explains about Robin testing negative but that she has to get
retested in six months...and since Luke was Robert Scorpio's best buddy..etc.
Luke asks if Mac knows yet; Stone says yes. Luke assures him that he still
wants him to work at the club. Then we insensitive, moronic lunkheads in t.v.
land are treated to another AIDS "mini lecture" from Luke. Later on, Luke and
Sonny discuss Stone's condition. Luke says he's worried about Robin; they
agree that Mac was too hard on Stone. A knock at the door interrupts their
conversation: it's Robin looking for Stone. Alone, Robin and Luke discuss Mac
and his reaction to Stone, etc. She starts to berate herself for being a
stupid kid but Luke interrupts her and says he understands and she's not an
irresponsible little twit. Luke tells her that the most important thing is to
make Stone's life better from now on; Robin is touched and says that sounds
like something her Dad would say [oh, right! He'd say that directly after he
finished ripping Stone's lips off]. Anyway, Luke offers to be a safe haven
once the caca starts raining down. Stone returns from his errands and he and
Robin agree that Luke is a good guy. Stone has an upbeat, positive attitude
and tells her that he wants to take his medicine and eat right so he can be
around for a long time.
