Date: Sun, 18 Jun 1995 02:21:12 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 06/16/95 GH Update for 06/16/95 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 Lucy takes Kevin to Luke's to let off a little stress. Luke offers him a good Havana cigar as a gesture of friendship. Lucy is taken aback when she sees Tom Hardy at the bar. Scene 2 Justus comes to visit Simone after talking with Tom. He tells Simone he just wanted to make his position clear to Tom, but now he'd like some clarification of some things Tom told him. Scene 3 At the prom, Stone and Robin flit around talking to various friends. Scene 4 Simone explains to Justus about her two previous affairs. One was a football player who died, and the other was Doc Harrison after she miscarried. Justus tells her Tom implied that every time they had marital problems she headed back to the hood for companionship. Simone was very upset at this suggestion. Scene 5 Lucy quickly passes Tom at the bar hoping to avoid his seeing her. However, once seated she Freudianly orders a Tom Collins to Kevin's surprise. In a desperate attempt to prevent a Tom/Kevin meeting, Lucy tries to get Kevin into Luke's back room for some blackjack. At first Kevin balks, but finally the babbling Lucy gets him to relent. Unfortunately, as they rise to go, they run directly into Tom. Scene 6 Tom, Lucy, Kevin banter humorously with each other. Kevin and Tom spar about the hospital position, and Tom appears to get great satisfaction in teasing Lucy with innuendos about their past relationship. Scene 7 Simone assures Justus that her prior affiare d'amour have nothing to do with him or how she feels about him. Tom was being manipulative and unfair, but that's all she's going to say on the subject. Scene 8 Later, Simone tells Justus that Tom told her some of what happened in Africa. Though she is sympathetic, she doesn't feel sorry for him and is not reconsidering the divorce; however, she does believe he needs Tommy and her for support, because she thinks he may be close to having mental problems. Scene 9 After a bit more between the lines conversation, Tom splits, and Kevin remarks, "So that's Tom Hardy. I feel like I've just been shot in the back." On his way out, Tom stops to ask Luke about Laura saying insultingly, "I always thought she'd do to you what she did to Scott." Luke replies, "Is that overt hostility, or are you just stupid?" Scene 10 Robin and Stone continue to float around the prom entwined like a couple of lovesick teenagers [oh, I forgot, they are a couple of lovesick teenagers, never mind.] Scene 11 As Justus and Simone do a little post-coital cuddling in her bed, Tom Jr. barges into the room and cries out, "Justus you're in my spot." [Is your pediatrician a pedophile? Next on HardCopy] Scene 12 Brenda strolls into Luke's to see Sonny. She wants to know if he's coming home. He appears disinterested. She says they shouldn't go to bed angry to which he replies curtly, "then you're not going to get any sleep." She tries to apologize, but he tells her it's not up to her to get mad when she wants to and then make up when she wants to. After she storms out, Mike approaches Sonny and says, "I guess it's official; you are a real bastard." Scene 13 Robin and Stone jam around the after prom party at the Outback. Mac whines to Felicia that he is no longer a cutting edge with it guy just a chaperone. Felicia advises him to chill out and enjoy it. Scene 14 At Robin and Stone's table, when one of the guys tells a couple of crude AIDS jokes. Robin, like a lioness defending her cub, metaphorically leaps for his throat and verbally eviscerates him in front of everyone loudly calling him a disgusting, stupid, bigoted pig and finally ordering him out of the party while Stone sits quietly looking more embarrassed than insulted. After the outburst, Mac comes over bewildered as usual to see what happened [probably figured Robin was talking about him]. Robin just says that she doesn't have to take that ignorance. Stone suggests they go outside for some air. Scene 15 Mike lays into Sonny about being selfish and cold. Sonny counters by saying ok, Pop, here's your chance to explain why you walked out and why you came back now. "Forget it," Mike tells him, "I'm not going to jump through hoops for you." "Ok," Sonny says walking out. Scene 16 As Tommy crawls over Justus he manages to give him a good knee to the groin, thinking to himself, "that ought to take care of you tonight homeboy and get me a few bucks from Dad, I think." When Tom Jr starts to ask a few too many questions, Simone tells him that when he grows up and gets married he'll sleep with his wife too. "But you're not Justus' wife, you're Dad's wife," he replies with seeming innocence yet mentally chalking up a few more dollars from dear old Dad. Simone quickly changes the subject to their needing to tend to Tommy's ant farm. Scene 17 As everyone continues to party down at the Outback, Robin apologizes to Stone for what happened. He says not to worry because he has to get used to it, and even though AIDS will rob them of their future, they can't let it take their present. Scene 18 Simone returns to Justus this time locking the door. She asks if he was ok; he replies he was but will be switching to soprano in the church choir and wouldn't it be nice if they just cuddled for the rest of the night. Scene 19 Mike laments to Luke that he finally had his big chance to explain everything to Sonny, but he blew it. Luke, trying to be positive, says that at least the door was cracked open a bit, even if it did slam shut on his foot.
