Date: Mon, 5 Jun 1995 17:18:07 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Mon 06/05/95 Written By: kathy%gundog@lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, June 5, 1995 Luke's O.K. but the Marriage was Fatally Wounded ============================================================================ At the Spencer house, the wind is moaning and night-things flit by in the darkness. Lucky, voice breaking, squeaks and alternately screams at Luke to "wake up"...but he's out for the count. Laura bursts through the front door and hysterically asks what happened. Good scene. Lucky is in shock, babbling and moaning that he killed Luke. Laura is shouting and crying out, "Luke, don't do this to me!" Laura bends over Luke and listens for a heartbeat; he wakes up. Turns out he hit his head and was unconscious for a while. Lucky, in tears, blubbers that he's sorry, he's sorry. Luke replies that he's not going to die, that "it's okay!" Laura gets pissed off all over again when he says that and she shouts "It's NOT okay!" Luke insists the shooting was an accident; he was concerned for them so he came over to check things out. Lucky had been edgy after the home invasion and there was an *accident*...nobody's fault, okay? Laura tells them that from this point on there are absolutely no guns allowed in the house. She turns on Luke and screams "IT'S FINISHED! I want you out of this house! I want you GONE!" Lucky murmurs that it's not fair and Laura snaps at him to shut up. She runs into the house to take care of Lesley-Lu, who's started crying. Luke and Lucky talk man-talk downstairs. Luke assures Lucky that what went down is NOT his fault; he says Laura will get over it. He says he'll talk to Laura when she comes downstairs and smooth things over. When Laura comes down she sends Lucky up to bed but the kid gets out of sight and listens in. Luke wants to talk things out...she doesn't. Laura says that the problem with Lucky is that he wants to be just like Luke, putting himself in danger. She also says that she doesn't feel personally safe around Luke any longer. Luke says that the whole situation wouldn't have happened if Laura hadn't thrown him out [perhaps echoing the 'ho-like Bobbie's selfish sentiments here??]. Lucky simply overreacted because he was protecting her, etc. Laura tells him that Luke has made himself a target for danger with the result that the rest of the family gets sucked into the danger vortex. He says he'll figure out something. She repeats that she wants him gone, and not just out of the house but out of her life. "I mean it" she says tearfully. Lucky, who had been eavesdropping, jumps into the argument and says it was all his fault, etc. and please don't split up on account of him. Luke gets mildly angry and tells the kid again it was NOT his fault. Then he hugs him and tells Lucky he loves him, is proud of him. Then Luke leaves. Lucky angrily turns on Laura and screams at her "I can't believe you're doing this to him...to me!" Lucky shouts after Luke, "Dad, don't leave, please don't do this, come on!" Luke pauses, in emotional agony, on the front porch and listens to Lucky crying after him. Then, like one of Satan's heifers, Laura heaves out with an unearthly moaning-wailing-sob [eesh!]. Whoa! Fear and Loathing at the Brownstone...The Return of the Hardy ============================================================================ Bad JuJu on the doorstep of the brownstone. Justus and Simone have just entered her apartment, giggling and smooching. The light is switched on and there sits a vision in white. Nope, it's not Casper the Ghost, it's Tom Hardy in the oh-so-real flesh! Simone is in shock at seeing Tom lounging on her couch and asks why he's there. He answers that it's HIS home and he wants to be in HIS HOME with HIS wife and HIS child! Justus simply stands there in shock, staring at Tom, mouth hung open. Tom snidely asks Justus if he had a good time with his wife. Justus replies that doesn't Tom mean his "ex-wife" but Tom says he never signed the divorce papers. Justus sneers Simone can still get a divorce without his signature. Tom agrees but says it'll be a more complicated, uglier process. Tom says he wrote to Simone that he would not be returning to Chad; she says she understood he was going someplace else in Africa. Tom says he was surprised to find himself back in Port Chuck. He then asks Justus to leave because he wants to talk to Simone in private. He also tells Justus that he's back in PC to stay and that he intends to work things out with Simone. Justus asks Simone if she wants him to stay; she replies that it's probably better if he leaves. Tom snottily offers to duke it out with Justus [the writers have given him an arrogant in-your-face Justus-like attitude...sparks should fly between the two]. Justus tells Tom that he doesn't intend to drop out of the big picture, just because Tom has come home. Justus leaves. Tom tells Simone that he loves her and wants to give their marriage another chance. Simone replies that it sounds as if his girlfriend threw him out. Tom replies, haughtily, that he was too intense for her; she couldn't handle him. Then he said that when he got the divorce papers he simply couldn't sign them if it meant not being part of her and. Tommy's life...yadda-yadda-ya. He claims that the only reason he came back was that he missed her and Tommy; she insists that it must be something else and demands to know "what happened to make you return"??? She says that his sudden return is not fair. She says that he can't just waltz back and expect to have a helping of her "pot-pie", if you know what I mean. They start to argue but he breaks it off before she can get cranked up. He suggests they sleep on it and she asks where he'll be staying, the Hardy seniors or a hotel? He is shocked that she won't let him into his "own" bed. As he's walking out the door he says, "I may be leaving now but I don't go that easily!" Stone's Ever-Diminishing Options ============================================================================ Stone and Robin discuss his illness. He says he dreads telling Mac because he just knows Mac will try to keep Robin from seeing him any more. Stone also says the wedding made him realize all the things he's going to miss after he's turned in his lunch pail...things like exchanging wedding vows, walks in the park, dressing as a sheep on Australia Day and taunting Unkie Mac. Robin runs and gets a lace mantilla that belonged to Anna when she got married. She tells Stone about Anna and Robert getting married. She and Stone recite mock wedding vows to each other. She makes him promise to never push her away or try to cut her out of his life, no matter how tough the going. A Pushy Brenda Finally Learns Stone's Secret ============================================================================ Sonny and Brenda drag themselves back to Sonny's apartment. They're both exhausted but she wants him to dish the big secret he's been keeping. Sonny claims he's too tired to deal with it but she presses and pokes at him until he blurts out, "Stone has AIDS...okay, are you satisfied?!?" Brenda is in shock and disbelief about Stone. She's worried about Robin and even though the kid tested negative she's going to have to be tested every 6 months for a while until they're sure she's clear. Brenda is totally upset and Sonny sits her down and tells her the facts [insert public service message here]. Brenda apologizes for beating the secret out of Sonny and bursts into tears. Sonny tells her to tread easily around Stone because he doesn't want it blab- bed around PC about the AIDS. "How sick is he?" she wants to know; Sonny replies that it's an advanced case of AIDS. "What does that mean" she wants to know but Sonny doesn't have an answer. Brenda asks what they can do for Stone. Sonny says he had big plans for the kid; he was going to give him the breaks that Sonny never got as a kid. "It's not fair" he murmurs. The Ashtons Moosh it up on their Honeymoon ============================================================================ Ned and Lois snuggle and talk. Ned proposes that they have a wedding every year because the first one was so great. The boat will be repaired by tomorrow and they plan to sail away. Later on Lois talks to Ned about the pre-nuptial agreement he wanted her to sign, to give her half his fortune. She says that although she is touched by his pre-nup offer, she loves him for himself not for the Quartermaine money. "You deserved to be loved completely and unconditionally [for yourself]" she tells him. Ned, deeply touched, is in tears as Lois pours out her heart to him, "all I want is who you are" she says. She sees his tears and he says, "all this is, is happiness beyond my wildest dreams!" [awwwww...sniff!] end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end end
