From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (N.J.Spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, May 31, 1995 Date: 1 Jun 1995 15:24:03 GMT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, May 31, 1995 Today's Stories The Splitting Spencers Everything Will Be Alright Where Is The Bride? The Splitting Spencers ---------------------- Bobbie visits Luke at the club on the way to work to check on him. He is down as can be expected with his wife across town and him camping out at Bobbie's. Bobbie thinks Laura has gone too far this time but Luke joins the Slapping Brigade, he doesn't like anyone trashing his wife. Bobbie goes on about "them" (Laura & Tony) trying to change "us" (herself and Luke) but as she continues to babble on Laura is seen entering the club. Luke explains Laura's actions are a result of having to kill someone in her own house and that circumstances have changed as in the persons of Lucky and Lulu. As he says that he notices Laura and Bobbie hears a patient calling and leaves. Laura notes that Luke did "hear" what she was saying. Laura acknowledges that Bobbie does love Luke a lot but Luke points out Bobbie doesn't know everything. [but Bobbie would like to think she does] Laura takes note of the changes in the club since the fire before they hit the heavy stuff. Laura hates the separation but she knows of no other way to handle the situation. She can't ignore her guts and finally needs to trust herself. She needs to feel safe and feel her children are safe. Luke wants to keep them safe but doesn't know how to convince Laura the danger is over. However Laura points out that there will only be another crisis around the corner. Laura is worried about the distance between them and is concerned if the gap gets too large they may never be able to bridge it. What really scares Laura is that Lucky has taken to heart Luke's talk that Lucky has to be the man and protect his mother and sister, figuring he can find a way to fix it. Lucky needs to find out he can't fix it since it's not his fault. Luke offers to have a heart-to-heart but Laura figures another of Luke's heart-to-hearts won't help. It's the last one that's created some of the problem. All they can to is let Lucky know they love him. Everything Will Be Alright -------------------------- Page awakens in her bed and Monica is awakened by Page's slight movement as she has slept in her clothes on Page's bed. Page comments the morphine makes her feel as if she is out of her own body and a concerned Monica determines that Page does know Monica. Then reality sets in and Page feels the pain. She has to stay in her own body until Emily comes home. The phone rings and it's Alan (see below) to check on Page. Monica learns about the damp yacht party and how Sonny bailed in his Armani suit. He learns Page is too weak to talk on the phone so Monica relays that Emily looked like a princess. Learning that Page is getting critical he asks if he and Emily should return home but Page says no, Emily should get to be a princess. Alan warns Monica they need to get a letter of intent for the adoption from Page. Monica sends her love to Ned and Lois. Before Page attempts the letter Monica asks if Page has any second thoughts but there are none. Page's problem with writing the letter is that she feels like she's abandoning her daughter. She wants to dictate it to Monica but the legalities make Moncia nervous. Page finally writes a short letter and is ready to sign but they have no witness. All the rest of the family is at the wedding and Monica gave the staff the day off. Monica will have to be the witness. Later when Page has dozed off again and Monica is staring out the window Page talks in her sleep, something about "hello, but I can't go yet Hank." Monica awakens her. Page says Hank was there waiting and told her everything will be alright. Where Is The Bride? ------------------- Emily and Brenda arrive at the Cerullo house to find Lois such a nervous wreck she has almost chewed some fingernails. Lois approves of Emily's dress and Brenda informs Lois of the impromptu bachelor party the guys threw the night before for Ned. Ned, meanwhile, is suffering from a huge hangover and Alan comes in to check on him. While Ned gets dressed Alan calls Monica. When he gets off the phone he passes along Monica's love and then offers to help his nephew since the "best man" has gone on to Brooklyn. Ned gratefully accepts his uncle's help. Two of the bridesmaids are checked out by Lois (I wouldn't trust those folks judgement again Lois....stick to picking out the dresses yourself...better yet get Lila to help...her dress is beautiful) and Lois pronounces everything great after she switches the identical bouquets. Lois is presented with a beautiful nightgown for her wedding night by Brenda. Gloria finally orders everyone else out so Lois can finally get the dress on. "Holy smokes" is Emily's reaction to the dress as everyone oohs and ahhs and gets all teary-eyed. At the church meanwhile the guest are arriving. Sonny recalls going to this church with his mother. When Stone worries that not having been in church for a long time or thinking about God could be the reason he's sick Robin disabuses him of that notion. In the vestibule Kevin and Mac tease Ned about his throbbing head. Back at the Cerullo's the checklist is gone over and finally Lois finds something borrowed. The bridal party except for Lois, Carmine and Gloria heads for the church with those three to follow shortly. Carmine moans about being superfluous but Lois reminds him he was the first man she ever loved. Carmine is sent to check the car and Gloria asks Lois if she has any last minute marital questions which causes Lois to laugh. If there had been a problem in that area Lois figures Ned wouldn't be going through with this wedding. Lois heads upstairs to get a special lipstick and as she does Danny Z arrives. He wants to stop Lois from going through with the wedding. Gloria tries get him to leave but he's not moving. Just as Gloria says Lois has already left for the church Lois returns with her lipstick. Danny Z chases her around the kitchen after asking her on bended knee not to marry this other guy. He won't let her out the door. Danny claims she's only marrying this other guy to punish him, she belongs to Danny. Back at the church Ned has been frantic. The bridal party was "only" 20 minutes late. Ned takes time to thank Brenda and he means for everything, keeping his secrets, supporting him and working to get him and Lois back together. He'll always cherish her friendship. With the twins doing somersaults and leap-frogging down the aisle Ned finally has waited long enough. He's going to "find his wife."
