Date: Sun, 28 May 1995 01:16:23 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 05/26/95 GH Update for 05/24/95 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 Mae Mae visits Ned and Lois before the wedding to settle on what she is going to sing at the ceremony. Scene 2 A rapidly failing Paige tells Emily to fetch Monica. Scene 3 Sonny comes to see Laura to apologize for the trouble brought into their home. Laura tells him she doesn't blame him or Luke because it all seems inevitable given Luke's particular karma. Scene 4 Luke comes to see Ned and Lois to tell them that Laura and he will not be able to make the train ride. Luke gives them a small wedding gift of a cassette tape of wedding related songs like "Love Train" which he recorded illegally and is selling bootleg versions of for just $19.95 + $5.95 S&H. Scene 5 In increasingly emotional scenes, Alan and Monica attend Paige who says she's in great pain and won't be able to make the wedding. Monica suggests that Emily go with Alan, and she will stay to watch over Paige. At first Emily declines, but when her mother insists she agrees. Scene 6 Mae Mae expresses concern to Luke over Laura and him and asks what he is into right now. Luke assures her he isn't into anything [not as long as he's on the couch that's for sure]. When she asks about Sonny, he says he can't speak for Sonny. He tells her he'd be nothing without Laura, but she disagrees and says no matter what happens he'll always be somebody to her. Scene 7 Laura relates some of Luke's and her past to Sonny and says how she misses the old days of travel and adventure, but reality requires changes, and the children need safety and stability. In a good scene-segment between Sonny and Lucky, the Emmy winner asks if the trouble is really over or are they just saying that for his benefit. Sonny once again states things are now under control. Scene 8 Aboard The Passion Express, Lois is astonished at the luxurious settings. Alan and Emily arrive, and Lois treats Emily to a secret about what the party favors are. Scene 9 Monica and Paige chat about missing the wedding. When Paige comments that Monica seems to be close to Ned, Monica reveals her past affair with him to her. They also talk about Emily becoming Alan's and Monica's daughter [Foreshadowing 1]. Scene 10 Damian and Katherine discuss Ned's wedding. He is amused at her being miffed she wasn't invited and wonders why she is so obsessed. She returns the taunt saying he seems to be obsessed himself with Lucy. Scene 11 Everyone chit-chats aboard the Nuptial Non-stop before leaving. Most of the regulars are there, Mae Mae, Keesha, Steve, Audrey, Simone, Justus, Lee, Gail, etc. Audrey privately mean-mouths Simone to Lee and Gail until Steve quietly slaps her down verbally saying it's none of their business. Sonny and Stone arrive, and Ned starts in on them about the shooting, but Lois interrupts and changes the subject. Kevin arrives sans-Lucy. When Robin and Stone are seated at Mac's table, he makes some pointed comments to Sonny who restrains himself and heads for the bar leaving Brenda standing at the table. Scene 12 Damian tells Katherine he is going to use Madame Maya to mess with Lucy's head and screw up her relationship with Kevin. Scene 13 At the bar, Sonny cozies up to Lily and pays her some compliments basically saying she knows when to shut up. Back at the table, Brenda stares daggers at them. Scene 14 Mac continues to rag on Stone and once again offers him a job at the Outback. Eventually, Stone splits to take his pills secretly, and Robin gives Mac a whining "leave him alone." Scene 15 When Jason borrows Emily, Lee and Alan discuss her adoption. Lee strongly suggests that they get something in writing from her mother. Alan agrees and says he'll take care of it. [Foreshadowing 2] Scene 16 When Miguel arrives, Brenda immediately points out the barflies, but Miguel says to cool it; however, Brenda storms over to LeeLee and Sonny accusing him of telling her all the secrets he won't tell her because she is just his lover. Scene 17 As Lucky toils at his homework, he blurts out that he wishes his father were there but then feels guilty since Laura was sitting nearby and apologizes to her. She tells him not to worry about it; he should miss Luke, and she does too. Scene 18 Monica reads to Paige who is very quiet. When Monica finishes the poem, she gets no response and looks over at her. Alas, Paige, it seems, has booked passage on the river Styx. [If you have any sense, Monica, you'll forge a scribbled note about Emily.] Scene 19 Sonny angrily drags Brenda away and tells her to lay off that secret crap because she's beginning to upset him [me too]. As their fight gathers momentum, Lois alerts Ned and stages an intervention with him taking Brenda and she Sonny. Ned quickly plays Luke's tape, and as the Amtrak Amore pulls out, everyone is soon partying to "The Love Train." Update Bonus: Since thankfully Miguel has been scarce lately, let's turn our attention to another. SONNY (sung by Brenda) (to the tune of Sunny, of course) Sonny, yesterday my blood ran down the drain. Sonny, you smiled at me as though that eased the pain. Oh, the dark days are come and the wiseguys are here, My Sonny one lies so sincere. Oh, Sonny one so true, I love you. Sonny, thank you for the happy birthday. Sonny, thank you for the words you never say. Before you came I looked so small, But next to you, I'm 10 feet tall. Oh, Sonny one so true, I love you. Sonny, thank you for the truth you've kept from me. Sonny, thank you for the facts from A to B. My life was dull just a total dud, Then a rock was formed when I gave blood. Sonny one so true, I love you. Sonny, thank you for that smirk upon your face. Sonny, thank you for the lies that flow with grace. You're my spark of weapon fire, You're my sweet funeral pyre. Sonny one so true, I love you.
