Subject: gh update 5/22/95 Date: Mon, 22 May 95 15:07:12 PDT From: kathy@gundog.lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, May 22, 1995 Stone is Advised to Forget About Making Plans for New Year's Eve, or Christmas, or Thanksgiving, or even Halloween. Er, Labor Day? ============================================================================ Robin tries to comfort Stone; he tells her that his life has taken on an air of Dickensian unreality [well, maybe not in those exact words]. He urges her to dump his infection-riddled self and find some guy who isn't crawling with microbes. She declines and says she's signed on for the long haul. Robin even chirps that if Stone is feeling better maybe they can bop around on Memorial Day. Stone replies that he doesn't want to think about the future. Alan and Kevin blow in with the test results. Alan breaks the bad news. Stone has advanced AIDS and they advise him to zip himself into a baggie immediately and the only sex he should consider is over the phone. Stone, in tears, hears Alan prescribe the drug AZT. He tells Stone that there is no alternative treatment; Stone says to go ahead with the AZT [guess that blows the Memorial Day picnic, huh?]. Kevin tries to comfort Stone and tells him that he mustn't lose hope; he tells him to keep an upbeat attitude. Robin insists they're in this thing together; "I hope not" Stone replies. Later on, Robin calls Unkie Mac and tells him that she's spending the night in the hospital [Mac has visions of I.V.'s dripping Spanish Fly and those hospital beds that crank into about 75 different positions]. She assures him that they'll talk real soon. Monica and Paige Sort Through Her New Mexico Junk ============================================================================ At the Q mansion, Monica, Paige and Emily sort through the goodies from Paige's apartment in New Mexico. Alan gently teases Emily about the start of the school year and why doesn't she bring her pet tarantulas to school? Alan gets a call from the hospital lab. He is distressed and exclaims into the phone, "that's impossible!" Later on, as they're sifting through the dreck, Emily's feeling a bit low. She tells the gals that it feels weird to be going through her stuff in a strange place. Monica keys in and reminds her that the Q mansion is home now and that Monica is there for Emily to confide in. Boring dialogue between Paige and Monica, yadda-yadda-yadda, about being friends, missing each other, being frightened. They cry, they hug. The Wedding Juggernaut Rolls Inexorably Forward ============================================================================ In the Cerullo kitchen, somewhere in the Bowels of Bensonhurst... Lois' mom is baking the wedding cake. She's beavering away, making a "test" cake when there's a banging on the door. There stands a guy named Danny who demands of Mrs Cerullo, "is it true that Lois is getting married?" Upon seeing him she throws up her hands in despair/disgust and says "do I need THIS?" Danny Zakarowitz is the guy's name. He claims he wants to keep Lois from making the "biggest mistake of her life". This guy was a member of a band Lois once managed. He was insanely jealous of Lois and broke up the band (literally). She escaped from him and ran from Brooklyn to Buffalo. Danny said one of Lois' brothers told him of the imminent marriage; he claims that if Lois could make the choice now, she would choose him over this bum, Eddie Maine. Meanwhile, back in Port Chuck. Lois and Ned are still deep into the marriage doo-doo; she is worried about how to haul all the junk she needs from Port Charles back to Brooklyn for the wedding. Then Lois gets a premonition of disaster; something's going to go wrong! Ned reassures her that everything's on track. Back in Bensonhurst, Mrs Cerullo sings Ned's praises and threatens to personally geld Danny if he shows his scummy face at Lois wedding. He insists that Lois will forgive him if he could only see her. She finally tosses him out of her kitchen. Later on, Ma Cerullo phones Lois and tells her about Danny's visit. She tells Lois that Danny wants to pick up the old pieces then says she threw the guy out. Lois is worried that Danny will do "something stupid" but Ma assures her that there's nothing to worry about. They hang up. Ned inquires if anything's wrong; Lois says everything's PEACHY!! Lucy Confides in the Livestock, Damian Rings her Chimes ============================================================================= Lucy seeks out Kevin and tremblingly tells him it's the one-year anniversary of B.J.'s death. She claims she needs some of his excellent psycho-babble to comfort her. He, in turn, tells her it's been a hell of a day and that one of his patients is in real trouble. He feels helpless. Lucy assures him that he's the top shrink in Port Charles and has the longest "diploma" she's ever seen! They agree to simply comfort each other. A ringing phone interrupts their reverie. It's Alan who reports that Stone's medical tests are in. He says that Kevin's patient is going to need him. Kevin splits for GH. Lucy pouts for a while then confides her frustration in Sigmund, who quacks rather intelligently at her. There's a knock at the door. Lucy flies to answer it, thinking that Kevin has returned. She opens the door and it's old Sneer-Boy (Damian) standing there....Double Ack! He enters the room and Lucy introduces him to Sigmund. Damian offers to assuage her lonliness and, when she rebuffs him, he reminds her that he saved her life. Then he says he understands her completely because they're two of a kind. She bridles and says she's in love with Kevin and Kevin only. Damian smirkily replies that he's the kind of lover who would never leave Lucy alone if she needed him. Damian insists that there's a powerful "something" between them and why does Lucy deny it? He takes his leave then and announces he's off to get his end wet...he's heading toward Katherine. Kate's own end, at that very moment, is warming a barstool at the Outback Club, flirting with Mac and swigging down 3-olive Martinis. She offers to listen his troubles and guesses correctly that Stone is on his mind. Mac is worried about his hoodlum influence on his precious niece's life [if only he knew about Stone's condition...he could stop worrying]. Damian wanders in and demands a table. He tells Kate that he's just stopped by to visit Lucy Coe. "W-H-A-A-T??" she demands angrily. Damian chides her for being jealous and tells her it's all part of the game plan. He says that he's got to regain Lucy's trust. end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end end ------- End of Forwarded Message
