Date: Sat, 20 May 1995 23:42:47 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 05/19/95 GH Update for 05/19/95 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 Mike, recovering in GH, reminisces to Amy and Monica about Sonny and wants to know when he can go home. Amy almost blurts out about the shoot-em-up at Luke's and Sonny's. Scene 2 At Luke's club, Luke endures some insipid customers who are more interested in bullet holes than blues notes. Lois shows up looking for Sonny with more the socializing on her mind. Scene 3 Laura tries futilely to clean the blood stains off her carpet [it's almost impossible, just ask OJ], but finally tosses it out in the trash. [She obviously doesn't watch late night infomercials.] Mae Mae shows up, and Laura gives her a capsule summary of what happened, ending with the phrase, "I killed someone." [Always a conversation stopper.] Scene 4 Lois tells Sonny she wants answers. He gives her the usual assurances, but she says if there is any more trouble, she'll dump him from L&B. Scene 5 Mike tries to charm his way out of the hospital, but Monica tells him to cool his jets. Brenda shows up for a visit. Scene 6 Bobbie and Tony console each other about BJ's death. Scene 7 Brenda fills Mike in on the hit details. She asks if he knows what's going on. She tells him she's suspicious that what Sonny told her isn't true [what a shock], and he may be involved in organized crime. Scene 8 Sonny continues to spin his tall tale, but Lois is not convinced at all. He says for her to wait six months and if anything happens, he'll be out of L&B. She tells him if he's jerking her around he'll be sorry. Eventually, they swap bodily fluids in the form of a spit handshake. [What's with this six months? After six months it's ok to have people shoot up the place again?] Scene 9 Laura continues to bemoan her fate to Mae Mae. She says she's between a Scylla and a Charybdis [Update fun fact: to be between a Scylla (sil-a) and a Charybdis (keh-rib-dis) is the high class way of saying between a rock and a hard place. In Greek mythology sailors hard to sail between the monster Scylla, who would almost certainly eat 12 people and the whirlpool Charybdis who could suck down the whole ship.] She feels to keep her kids safe Luke must go, but that would destroy the very family she's trying to save. Mae Mae urges her not to stop fighting for the life she wants to have. Scene 10 Mike tells Brenda he has no knowledge that Sonny in involved with the mob. Scene 11 Tony pours a drink as he and Bobbie continue to discuss BJ and the future. She makes subtle suggestions that he allow her to "comfort" him. Scene 12 Ned and Miguel agree that Sonny is trouble for L&B. Lois arrives and relates her discussions with Sonny and his agreement to pull out if there's any trouble within six months. Scene 13 Brenda returns to Luke's to hash it out with Sonny. As the discussion heats up, Sonny, as usual, turns it around to be Brenda's problem of not trusting him. Sonny: "When are you going to learn to trust me?" Brenda: "Maybe when I'm not being shot at in my shower." She gets increasingly frustrated and stomps out. Scene 14 In a good scene, Bobbie tries to reach out to Tony, but he rebuffs her at first. She tries again to get through using an analogy of Spring rebirth, and he does begin to respond; taking her face in his hands, he kisses her. Scene 15 Lois lectures Ned and Miguel and gets their commitments to stay with L&B. Scene 16 Luke returns home startling Laura. He wants to sleep on the couch just in case Scully's men return and manage to get in. When she protests saying she doesn't want guns in the house anymore, he says he's not armed implying he'd let them take him out quietly without hurting them. Scene 17 A very verbal Bobbie and silent Tony engage in some naked frolics, but alas he announces, "I can't do it." Scene 18 Lois and Ned go over the wedding party plans which involve among other things, a private train car, a fleet of limos, the Q yacht, and a trip to Coney Island. Scene 19 Bobbie tries to assume the blame for the failed intimacies, but Tony insists it's all his fault. He wanted to make love to her, but just wasn't ready yet. Snide comments heard around GH when word of Tony's failure got out. In Surgery: The old scalpel couldn't cut it. In Orthopedics: His middle leg bone just wouldn't set. In Anesthesia: The little cylinder ran out of gas. In Psychiatry: His Oedipus wrecked. In Physical Therapy: He got a cramp in his love muscle. In the ER: Cupid was DOA. Scene 20 Luke tries to reassure Lucky that he'll be safe, and eventually things will return to normal [whatever that is for the Spencers]. I'm interested in how long this take to get places. When it arrives at your site, please send an E-mail note to U23042@uicvm.uic.edu saying when it arrived and where you are. Thanks. John
