Jan is off picking up the Booklist Boy from school so here I am with the Thursday update. GENERAL HOSPITAL Thursday, May 11, 1995 Today's Stories Spying on the Spy Lila to the Rescue A New Dawn Breaking Spying on the Spy ----------------- At the Charles Street Foundation office, Keesha paces, driving Justus crazy. She's disturbed by Mary Mae's date with Rakeem, a spy of all people. Keesha has a plan. She'll find out where Mary Mae and Rakeem are going, will call Justus and he and Simone can casually end up at the same place. Justus doesn't really want to do it but does give in. AJ stops by with the grant papers for Justus to sign. He learns that Jason and Keesha will be babysitting that evening at the Bradley Ward house. At the Bradley Ward house Mary Mae has put on the finishing touches but doesn't appreciate the role reversal with Keesha as Keesha gives Mary Mae the third degree. When Keesha gets all her instructions about the kids she claims she won't be able to remember it all and asks where Mary Mae and Rakeem are going in case of an emergency. LUKE'S is the answer. Just then Jason arrives with a laptop that ELQ was about to discard with software and games for the kids. Mary Mae isn't sure she wants to move into the computer age. Then Rakeem arrives. The saccharine is heavy in the air. Once Mary Mae and Rakeem leave Keesha calls Justus. When Mary Mae and Rakeem arrive at LUKE'S, they're given a table after Mary Mae tells Sonny there will be no singing this night, she's off duty. Rakeem and Mary Mae are having fun as he tells her of some of his exploits. Before long Justus and Simone show up, Rakeem and Mary Mae are busted. The smooth Rakeem makes a fuss over Simone and then invites them to join him and Mary Mae. Justus is saying yes but Mary Mae puts her foot down. NO! As Mary Mae and Rakeem have fun Justus isn't a happy camper but Simone thinks Mary Mae should go for it. Finally Mary Mae wants to be out from under her grandson's eye so they head back to the Bradley Ward house. Meanwhile Keesha and Jason are about to get romantic when they heard the door slam...back to studying. It's only AJ with pizza, figuring they'd need a break. He informs them the grant papers are in the mail. When Keesha goes to get plates AJ lets Jason know that Ned actually asked AJ to be in the wedding party. Keesha is dozing in a chair when Rakeem and Mary Mae return. Keesha finally heads upstairs leaving the two adults alone. Rakeem is surprised that what Mary Mae really wants during their time alone is instructions on "how to surf the net." Rakeem starts with "this is the on button." Lila to the Rescue ------------------ A panicked Lois comes into the Q's den babbling away about canceling the wedding. Finally Ned figures out she has had no luck finding a wedding dress. She's had nightmares about the Bridal Barn. Windhyms was so nice but the price tags really woke her up. She figures she'll be coming down the aisle in an Idle Rich T-shirt and white Levis. Just then in comes Lila. She thinks she has a solution. She has Reggie bring in a box, but sends Ned out of the room. Ned is jealous, he's always being sent out of the room. He figures he'll go off and find Emily. Lila is offering Lois the dress that Lila wore when she married Edward. Lois loves it and is truly touched by Lila's offer. Lois accepts. Lila has also figured that traveling back and forth from Brooklyn to the club would be too much so she has another suggestion for the rehearsal dinner. They'll use the yacht instead. They'll pick up everyone at Sheepshead Bay and have a champagne cruise around NY Harbor, return the Cerullo's to Brooklyn and then PC contingent will sail back to Oyster Bay, sailing back to Sheepshead Bay in the morning for the wedding. That's "far out" to Lois and she's off to tell Nedly all is ok. Later Lois seems to be calm but once again is in a panic over the bridesmaids' dresses. Finally she figures out to delegate. She'll send her cousin, sister and sisters-in-law on a shopping spree providing they come up with something that goes with the dress. She'll even give them all her savings, all $5000+, having faith that "Eddie" will take care of her in her old age. Later Ned reports he "did" ask AJ to be in the wedding. Lois is glad, since it's all about the melding of their two families, even if only for a short time. They assure each other of their love. A New Dawn Breaking ------------------- Luke wants to know why Laura is back. He is concerned to hear the baby needed to see Simone but wants to know if she's well enough to return to Beechers Corners. He tells Laura of the expected fallout from Scully's death and Laura finally figures out there never will be an end to the danger and threats. Laura doesn't buy that it will all be over once this situation is handled. She calls Luke on his promise to buy out Sonny if Sonny's business ever put their family in danger. But Luke won't buy out Sonny, this is Luke's business and buying out Sonny won't solve anything since Luke is "in." That just confirms to Laura that they and their kids will never be safe. Laura doesn't want to run any more since moving won't change anything. She realizes Luke will never change. She didn't mind signing on to the danger when it was just the two of them but with the kids to consider she wants Lesley Lu to have the safety Lucky didn't have. Laura says she loves Luke, with all her being but she and her children aren't safe with Luke in the house. She wants him out. Luke says no to long term separation and until this mess is over he won't leave. Laura puts her foot down and won't return to Beechers Corners. Luke leaves to tell Sonny the change in the situation despite Laura's objections. A little later Laura hears a sound on the porch which startles her. It's Lucky with Foster. [A hair cut!] He needed to check to see she was ok. Meanwhile back at LUKE'S Sonny has learned he has reinforcements coming in from out-of-town and he informs Harry. It's a new dawn breaking but Harry warns him, only if Sonny is standing when the dust settles. Sonny offers Harry an out but Harry is in for the long haul. Luke returns to the club and informs Sonny that Laura is back and is not budging. The baby is back too.
