                            GH Update for 05/08/95
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Why am I, the normal Friday updater, doing Monday this week? Because Kathy
Ellington using all her womynly wiles foisted it off on me, knowing I'm sure,
what a poor excuse for an episode it would be. Rather than drag out this
misconceived miscellany of miscegenation, misbegotten miscreants, and miserable
mise en scene (look it up), I'll keep it mercifully short so that it can
quietly pass from the collective consciousness and not, as Scott Adams, the
author of Dilbert, would say, "linger like the stench of a dead woodchuck under
the porch."
                                     * * *

Brenda whines, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia."
Brenda sits in Luke's bending his ear until Dumbo would look normal. She
continues to dive to new depths of self-pity over why Sonny won't just ask her
for help. [Get a life.]

Old friends are the best friends, especially if they have no gunshot wounds.
Lois and Ned fight [again] over her involvement with Sonny. She wants to avoid
the issue, but he holds on to the discussion like a pit bull. Eventually, she
tells him to stay out of L&B business, and that until Sonny betrays her, she's
staying loyal to him. Ned gives up the battle, but not the war.

He's not heavy; he's not home.
Tony and Frisco discuss life. When Frisco insists on Tony's honest opinion,
Tony asks him if he knows the words to "Call Me Irresponsible"? Frisco says he
wants to stay if Felicia will let him. Tony asks pointedly, "For how long?"

Dear old Dad.
Leelee and Sonny bond at GH outside of Mike's room. Eventually, he offers to
take her back to Kelly's. Once there, she makes a few tidbits to eat, and she
shows insight into what he feels about Mike since she feels similarly about her
father. They agree that late inning heroics will not erase a lifetime of
disappointments and failings. [The score: Leelee 1, Brenda 0]
