From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday May 4 1995 Date: Fri, 5 May 1995 03:39:47 GMT (episode title) ********************ALL ROADS LEAD TO LUKE'S************************* [A personal aside here. It looked a lot like they were getting all of PC's best and brightest in one place so some disaster could strike, such as a firebomb. If so, of course, the OK. City disaster made for a quick change of plans. I understand one soap had a bomb blast and has been doing some massive editing ever since. I was tensing up at the end of the show, waiting for some scary cliff-hanger... no disappointment, either, but I'm really glad Luke's is still standing...] MDP FALLOUT, PART 1603 Harry tells Luke & Sonny what trouble they're in. [It's "the word on the street." This "word" is too dumb to realize that Harry has a big mouth, apparently.] Sonny has more friends than Harry thought, but Scully did, too. Sonny tells Luke to butt out, but of course Mr. Wonderful says it *is* his business. Harry will be sure that Lucky is protected. Sonny asks Bobbie how Mike is, and she says no change. She and Luke make Sonny go home for a nap. He needs to be alert for the big night at Luke's. MaryMae is going to sing. Luke calls Laura and catches her up. She wants to come home. She can't, yet. "It never ends, does it?" [No, and I wish it would.] FRISCO'S GRAND HOMECOMING Rakeem is enjoying his tea party, getting instructed on the proper way of doing it all by Maxie. Frisco wakes up. He is invited to join the tea party and he says "it's never too late to learn to play nice." [Oh, yeah?] Mariah says the chance to go out for the day energized her, why doesn't she stay there and babysit while Frisco and Felicia go out? Frisco's all in favor, and Felicia invites him AND Rakeem to Luke's to hear MaryMae sing. [BTW, if Felicia really *were* breast-feeding, she's giving far too many supplemental bottles. Georgie will wean herself very early at this rate!] Frisco signals frantically at Rakeem to tell him he isn't wanted, but Felicia oh-so-sweetly outfoxes him and calls Luke to reserve the Georgie Jones table. At the club, Tony is waiting for them. Rakeem and he share scalpel stories. When MaryMae starts to sing, Rakeem is smitten. And Frisco falls asleep. Felicia finally takes him home. NOT THE LAST OF TOM Simone and Justus are at Luke's to hear MaryMae sing. Justus asks what Simone is thinking about and it seems she got a letter from Tom which crossed with the divorce papers. Tom is no longer in Chad, he's back at the Rwanda refugee camp. [TAN note: I hear from a nun I know who just went there that she is all right, but things are desperately bad.] Simone thinks Tom wasn't completely honest with her when he was home. The letter sounds "scattered." Something is not right. HOW MUCH TROUBLE CAN I GET INTO IN DAMIAN'S ROOM AT THE P.C. HOTEL? Damian's redemption continues, but it looks like it will be a deliciously slow and interesting process. He limps to his door and to his surprise, it's Lucy! She is fairly hostile, and says it's not a social occasion, she just wants to know why he saved her life. After all, everyone in PC hates him, but she probably hates him most of all. (Actually, I think Bobbie has that "honor", but maybe nearly killing him was cathartic and B. can only hate Lucy most now.) Why did he save her life instead of "toasting my demise with your insipid little girl friend?" [*grin*] Damian looks bemused, and Lucy asks again "Why would you sic Scully on me and then turn on him and rat him out?" Damian is amused by this vocabulary choice and suggests that Lucy has been spending too much time with Spencer and Sonny: "Since when did being angry with someone translate to a death wish?" They exchange more pleasantries and then Damian remarks that: "I would never walk away from a battle of wits but violence is not my style." Lucy correctly infers that this means the scuttling of her company and accuses: " You and your peroxide piranha conspired to ruin Deception!" Damian says that he and Lucy have unfinished business. He has grabbed her cheek and is getting closer, closer, when who should come in but the peroxide piranha herself, and if looks could kill, Lucy would be but an R.I.P. footnote in tomorrow's PC Times. Lucy advises Katherine about that little jealous edge: "I would never be threatened by the sight of MY lover alone with his worst enemy." Miss Subtlety looks like she's searching for an axe and as Lucy leaves she, Lucy, warns KatyBelle that jealousy is boring. If anyone's keeping score, I think that's three for Lucy, all of which hit Damian dead center: "insipid girlfriend", "peroxide piranha" and "BORing." Lucy leaves. KatyBelle looks like she's about ready to die of apoplexy. She demands an explanation and RIGHT NOW!!! Damian asserts it's all part of the game, but you can see "peroxide", "insipid", and "boring" jostling for pride of place in his brain. He does mention that Lucy was right, that "insecurity in a well-loved woman is a crashing bore." KatyBelle swallows it. They agree to go to Luke's, where MaryMae is singing. Meanwhile, Kevin is trying to get hold of Stone [I really like this: each little thread is connected, not individual stories that have no connection to each other] as Lucy comes in. She's still puzzled by Damian and Kevin says: "You let him get to you!" She prattles on, trying to get out of the hole which she's dug for herself, and he says: "Your adrenoline is pumping so fast you're practically out of the room." So she asks how he feels about MaryMae. He looks totally bewildered and says he likes her, and Lucy says he keeps changing, at which point they get into a "do not!" "do too!" argument. She asks because she wants him to come to Luke's with her. MaryMae is singing. At the club Luke seats them. Lucy thanks Kevin for not getting on Luke's case, and he says this is not the time or the place [but just you wait, Luke Spencer, just you wait!] Damian toasts them from across the room. Fortunately, the PP misses it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MONICA Monica, in a spiffy short wig, is gazing out the window when Alan comes in. She's eager to get the jet to head off to Phoenix. He apologizes for his curmudgeonly behavior and wishes her happy birthday. [I do love this man!] Alan gives her a 100-yr-old diamond-and-ruby ring which he bought months ago: the age of the ring to symbolize longevity, the time he bought it as a finger-snap in the face of Fate, an affirmation that he was sure she would live to get it. [I do love this man! Oh, I said that!] He invites her, and Paige if Paige is up to it, to Luke's, where MaryMae is singing. It's not a big deal to share Monica with Paige for the little time she has left. [Have I mentioned I love this man?] Edward comes in and wishes Monica a happy birthday. He wants the whole family to go to Luke's (where MaryMae is singing) and he suggests himself as Paige's escort. [Is Anna Lee ill? No sign of Lila the last two weeks!] At Luke's the host himself wishes Monica happy birthday (it was mentioned when reservations were made). Keesha joins the family, wishing Monica happy birthday, and holds hands with Jason. AJ looks like he's giving them the evil eye, but he's polite enough and says he has something in the works with the Charles Street Foundation. Edward sends a request to MaryMae for "Every Time we say Goodbye". DON'T DISS MY MAN At Luke's, where MaryMae is singing, we see Lois and Ned, talking to Brenda. Brenda starts talking about how worried she is about Sonny and Ned makes a "serves him right" type comment. [What are Ned's redemption points like, anyway? Yes, Lois put him through a bit because of the bigamy, but he still has negative values from Jenny and Julia and AJ and just generally being a bad CEO, I'd have thought.] Brenda looks disgusted and heads out to wait for Sonny, while Lois starts in on Ned, but MaryMae begins her performance right then. When Sonny comes, Brenda hugs him and holds on. She wants more information, and Sonny [I love this man!] [So sue me, I'm not monogamous in my crushes!] actually opens up and tells her a bit about Joe and about how he felt knowing Joe, who he thought he could talk to, would kill him. Brenda hugs him again. *****************************TUNE IN TOMORROW*************************** MaryMae has just finished a song, and the phone rings. It's Bobbie, and Mike has taken a turn for the worse. It's probably his heart. Sonny leaves, and Luke will follow. Sonny doesn't want Brenda, who tells the story to Alan and Monica. Monica is a cardiac specialist: she's on the case. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, Proud Mom to Stands-With-a-Book and the Booklist Boy, plus three, a Nifty Fifty!
