From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (N.J.Spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, March 22, 1995 Date: 23 Mar 1995 16:32:42 GMT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, March 22, 1995 Today's Stories Laying the Groundwork This Is My Family The Good Seed and the Bad Seed Laying the Groundwork --------------------- In the club Sonny bemoans the fact he wants to throw Brenda a birthday party while at the same time he wants to wring her neck. When he asks Luke if he can hold it at the club, Luke points out that's one of the perks of being a partner in a club, being able to throw bashes in said club. Sonny turns the conversation to Scully. If they are going to set Scully up Luke is going to have to be nice or at least convincing to Scully that Luke is thinking of letting Scully have a piece of the action. Luke can do convincing, he's not sure about nice. Sonny sets up a meeting as Scully figures it's about time. He's not about to wait much longer and is losing patience. That evening when Scully arrives at the club Mike is none too cordial but Sonny intervenes. The meeting doesn't start off very well when when Luke announces he "resents the hell out of Joe." Luke put his sweat into the club and doesn't cotton to the idea of turning over "his" profits to someone else. Joe "reminds" Luke Sonny is a partner, but Luke points out Sonny provided venture capital. Luke asks for more time as Boris and Natasha come in. (Damian and KatyBell for those who haven't heard). They spend time staring at the meeting at the bar and she warns Boris about Scully but Boris figures Scully is small potatoes, besides Boris has "deep pockets" and he and Sonny are of the new school, Scully is the old school. Boris is starting to revel in being Frank's son with all the wealth that he has inherited. Natasha is thrilled that finally she's got back where she began and has it all. [Or so she thinks.] Meanwhile over at the bar meeting Scully agrees to give Luke more time, but he won't wait forever. Once he's gone Sonny agrees that nice Luke wasn't. Luke notices the dynamic duo [NOT] and reminds Mike they are to be blackballed. Mike admits he wasn't sure Luke meant it before when Luke told him to seat them in the parking lot. Luke does mean it, but for this evening Mike is just to water down their drinks and make their stay unpleasant. This Is MY Family ----------------- Edward continues his belly-aching as Alan heads off to pick up Monica, Page and Emily at the airport. There's some good old-fashioned Quartermaine sniping about Annabelle and Edward's stubbornness when Bobbie arrives, having been invited by Lila to Monica's homecoming. They discuss Page and Emily and the reservations they all have but when they ask Bobbie for her opinion she points out that Monica knows her own limitations and wouldn't have asked Page and Emily to PC if she couldn't handle it. When Alan returns with them Monica scolds Edward for his adventure in the woods and introduces Page and Emily to her family and Bobbie. Reginald offers to bring Monica her favorite salmon and black bread. All of a sudden Page gets faint and all the medicos attend to her. Emily is disturbed when Page and Monica joke about looking terrible and heads off to a chair by herself. Jason and AJ take it upon themselves to cheer her up. After a story about the Q's pilot and describing all there is to do on the estate what Emily would like is to meet Annabelle and her pup so off to the kitchen she goes with Jason and AJ in the lead. Despite Monica's assurances Alan is clearly worried. When Emily, Jason and AJ return from seeing the dogs Lila and Edward start arguing about who will get custody of the pup. Lila is all for giving the pup to Lucky but of course now Edward wants to keep it. [do we know the sex yet?] All the Q's get involved and it escalates into what Monica tells Page is barely the beginning of a typical Quartermaine "discussion." The Good Seed and the Bad Seed ------------------------------ At a Mountie station Kevin poses as Rybabe for mug shots to be distributed to all the newspapers and TV stations. Felicia worries that they won't be in time. Kevin being Mr. Sensitive [instead of Mac?] wishes he had visited Ryan just once and then returned to Switzerland, then Mac and Filly would be married. [Thank you Kevin for not returning to Switzerland!] But with that reminder they realize if Kevin and Ryan are in the same room they will have trouble telling them apart. Kevin suggests a password, Swordfish, but Mac doesn't know that's a punch line from a Marx brothers movie, he's an Abbott and Costello fan. Kevin also suggests he draw a swordfish on his hand in indelible ink in case Kevin and Ryan are both unconscious. Filly continues to worry since they figure Ryan is on foot. Garcia, Mac, Filly and Kevin pour over a map when the mountie returns and reports that a Miss Coe has called and is demanding to be picked up at the motel. It seems Kevin left her behind, sleeping peacefully. Kevin borrows Mac's truck. Kevin stops to buy gas and there is no need to pay first [boy, they sure aren't in LA!]. While Kevin is pumping the gas the mechanic sees a bulletin on the TV warning folks to be on the lookout for Ryan. Before he can call the authorities Kevin returns so the mechanic decides to make a citizen's arrest. Despite Kevin's protestations the mechanic lets his fists speak and is going to turn in Kevin as Ryan. Kevin manages to convince the mechanic to travel to the mountie station that's just 5 miles away in Kevin's borrowed vehicle. Once there the password and the swordfish on his hand keep Kevin from being put into custody. Filly's fears escalate and Kevin wishes he had been Ryan. That way Ryan would be in custody and Filly would have Georgie back. Meanwhile Ryan has stolen a car but before he takes off he realizes he put Georgie in her carseat on top of the car and failed to put her in the car before he got in. Ryan talks to the sleeping baby about planning and parenting and just as he says he's going make none of the mistakes his mother did he hears a voice telling him to be ashamed of himself for whining. He looks in the rearview mirror and there is Mama Chamberlain. He looks in the back seat and nearly drives off the road when he sees her sitting there. She belittles him and won't go away when he tells her to leave. She's there to take him to hell. When Ryan complains about not being loved as a child she tells him it was because he was unlovable. She wishes she had had girls and knows he was bad from the moment of conception, there was a good seed and a bad seed. He's a monster who beat and burned her. When Ryan is able to get any words in he tells of recently remembering how it was like as a family before Kevin and his father left. Ryan questions what kind of mother Mama Chamberlain was. As he gets angrier and angrier he starts yelling and the baby starts to cry. Mama won't leave so Ryan is going to forcibly remove her. When he stops the car and opens the door to the back seat Ryan sees an empty seat as if Mama has taken the baby away. But after burying his face in his hands Ryan looks again and Georgie is sleeping peacefully. He takes Georgie out of the car seat and starts walking, ignoring a passing motorist who asks if he needs help. No one can help Ryan now.
