Subject: gh update 3/20/95 Date: Tue, 21 Mar 95 10:03:25 -0800 From: Nancy Spera njs@chevron.com Written By: kathy%gundog@lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, March 20, 1995 Done in Johnny-Style: Filly sadly wanders around her apartment, smelling Baby Georgia's clothing. She picks up a romper [sniff], a blankie [sniff], a diaper [sniff]...whoa! She faints. Quickly roused by a commotion at the door, she staggers over and admits Kevin and Lucy, who tell her that Mac and crew will be along any minute. Kevin tells Filly that Ryan called him and they've traced the call. He and baby are in Canada in some cheap motel, ordering pizzas and watching HBO. They're surrounded by the Canadian police, though, so not to worry. Mac blows in with Garcia [wah-OOOOH! He is one hot hunk of chorizo, no??]. Everyone studies a map of Canada and they all prepare for a road trip. Cut to Ryan in the motel room, babbling to the baby. Hmmm.. Looks like he's bonded with Georgie; they're both wearing "I (heart) Sociopaths" pins. At the Quartermaine mansion, Lila is beside herself with worry over Edward. Alan, A.J., Jason, Ned and Reggie decide to form a search party. Lois stays behind to comfort Lila. In a cave not far away, Edward is going to the dogs! He's snuggled up with Annabelle and puppy, trying to stay warm. Hang on, old dude, Foster is nearby leading Luke and Lucky to the rescue. The Spencer boys find Edward, racked with pain from a broken leg. Luke covers him with his coat, instructs Lucky to keep Edward from losing consciousness, and runs to get the medicos. Mac, Garcia, Kevin, Lucy, and Filly leave for Canada. Garcia's not in the car with the others, so he must be traveling with police guys. Above Luke's club, Sonny and Brenda discuss Ryan and his nutiness. Soon the subject curves around to parents and children and how much a child remembers from early, bad experiences. Brenda draws Sonny out and soon he tells her the sad tale of his messed-up childhood. His mother was sweet, but weak. His stepfather, Stefano, was a sadist who beat him. He was headed on the road to petty crime when he hooked up with Joe Skully, etc. Brenda promises him that his heart is safe with her [gee, the scenes between these two were terrific today, especially Brenda]. We also learn that Brenda will be turning 21 next week. At La Spa, Monica gets a late night phone call from Paige, who needs some reassurance; the gals talk and cry together. They plan to leave for Port Chuck the next day. On the way to Canada, Kevin relates his phone call from Ryan. They speculate if Connie was the one who helped Ry-baby pull off his stunt. Felicia admits that she's upset because Frisco isn't there. "What is he doing that could be more important than this?" she asks angrily. Lila dishes some dirt from her past when she tells Lois that she was once married, briefly, before Edward. He was a cad who married her for her money and her dad bought the slimeball off. She was heartbroken but met Edward soon thereafter and the rest is history. They talk about Lois and Ned's marriage and how well-packed Ned is in those leather pants. All of a sudden, Luke, Lucky, and Annabelle burst into the library with Annabelle's puppy. Lila is still worried about Edward out in the snow. They quickly relate his condition and say he's safe at the hospital and should be home soon. Outside Ryan's door at the motel, Kevin knocks softly and tries to convince Ry-baby to open the door. No response. To everyone's horror, a frustrated Mac kicks the door down and everyone rushes in. Ryan and baby Georgie are gone; only her pathetic little I.D. bracelet is left. [Er, now I don't want to pick unnecessarily, but wasn't the motel "surrounded" by Canadian police? Ryan's not some superhero who can turn invisible and walk thrugh walls, so how did he eel through the net? Especially toting a squalling baby? Was there a hockey game on that distracted the Canadians? Come on GH writers, get a grip.] ---- end of show ---- end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end end end
