                            GH Update for 03/17/95
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Scene 1
Robin tells Stone all about dyslexia. "I guess that's why I have a tendency to
get things ass-backwards," he comments. "Hmm," Robin ponders, thinking back to
their initial lovefest, and how things didn't seem to go quite as she thought
they were supposed to. Lois bursts in demanding to know about Ryan, and Robin
fills her in on the basics.
Scene 2
Felicia asks Kevin about Ryan. He tells her Ryan may have decided to keep
Georgie in place of Felicia.
Scene 3
Meanwhile, Ryan comforts the whining baby.
Scene 4
As Luke and Sonny prepare to discuss Scully, Lucy explodes on to the scene
ranting about all the attention Felicia is getting, but since Luke and Sonny
haven't heard the news yet, she joyfully fills them in off camera.
Scene 5
Lucy continues rail about the guys falling over Felicia. Luke changes the
subject back to the Scully affair. Sonny voices his reservations about her
involvement. He warns her that loose lips will bite the dust to mix a metaphor.
Lucy argues her case convincingly, pointing out yet again how she helped Luke.
Scene 6
At the Q mansion, Alan asks Ned if he's seen the missing Edward, but Ned
replies that he hasn't.
Scene 7
As Edward lies helpless with a broken leg, Foster eyes him like a favorite fire
hydrant. Meanwhile, Annabelle nuzzles Edward affectionately. [blech, dog lips]
Scene 8
When Lois asks about the unfinished inventory, Stone cops to the newly
discovered dyslexia defense. Lois launches into a story about her friend with
dyslexia.
Scene 9
Felicia worries to Kevin that Ryan will hurt her baby, but Kevin thinks that's
unlikely because of Ryan's empathy for children. [I guess it didn't extend to
young women though] Both Mac and Kevin feel Ryan will call eventually, but they
can only wait.
Scene 10
Ryan quiets the bawling babe, but soon it starts again, and he begins to get
angry. As the enfant terrible continues to caterwaul, Ryan gets increasingly
more agitated [I sure can relate to that] and edges towards violence.
Scene 11
Reginald reports that he's found dog tracks followed by Edward's foot prints,
as well as where he wiped his foot off, but the trail of tracks ends at the
street.
Scene 12
Monica calls Alan and reports her last chemo was over, and she's looking
forward to coming home. He fills her in on the Annabelle/Edward disappearances.
She asks if he told the family about Paige; he says yes.
Scene 13
Edward continues to go to the dogs. He tries to order Foster to get help, but
Foster ignores him until Annabelle sharply barks a few of her own commands, and
Foster shuffles off muttering, "stupid bitch," under his dog breath. "What was
that?" she snaps. "Putrid ditch, Dear," he quickly replies, "I said be careful
of this putrid ditch over here."
Scene 14
Luke suggests they try to set a trap for the rat Scully, and, of course, Lucy
is to be the tasty bait.
Scene 15
Robin tells Mac and Felicia about Stone. Mac is almost sympathetic.
Scene 16
Ryan really starts to loose it as the wailing whelp whimpers incessantly. As
the door to his psyche becomes more and more unhinged, he starts arguing with
himself in the mirror.
Scene 17
Kevin's phone rings - it's Ryan. "Kevin, I'm having a problem with the baby,"
Ryan tells him [At this point so was I].
Scene 18
Ryan rambles on about how he just wanted to start a new life, but the baby
won't take directions [Ya, and it's damn hard to find an obedience school that
takes infants these days]. Eventually, he hangs up to avoid being traced.
Scene 19
At the Q gatehouse, Ned tells Lois about the missing Edward.
Scene 20
Edward cuddles the single newborn pup of Annabelle. Edward hopes to stay warm
by having the dogs nearby. [Update historical note: The name of the rock group
"Three Dog Night" comes from the Australian (I think) outback custom of
sleeping with dogs on cold nights. A three dog night would be very cold.]
Scene 21
Ryan calls back, and Kevin tries to keep him talking despite the banshee baby's
bellowing. Ryan worries he might hurt her. [I for one wish he'd have reused
the scarf technique on the brat] Kevin plays psychoanalyst, but Ryan brings up
their childhood and how Kevin abandoned him with their mother.
Scene 22
Felicia whines to Robin who thinks, "I'd much rather be with Stone than
listening to this dreck."
Scene 23
Foster turns up at Luke's Club and attempts to get Luke and Lucky to follow
him. He tries desperately to give the basic message, "Annabelle, she by
Edward, alone, cold" Unfortunately, they think he wants to play charades, and
the subject is literature. After several tortured minutes of guessing, Luke
blurts out, "I've got it! Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe." Foster shows his
disgust by relieving himself on Luke.
Scene 24
Ryan gets even closer to the edge as Kevin tries to get him to avoid hurting
Georgie.
Scene 25
At the phone company, Mac and Garcia get a trace on Ryan's phone and head off
to "bring this guy down." Now get this, they decide to ask the Canadian police
to wait till they get there. [Can you imagine waiting well over an hour while a
demented serial killer with an infant hostage is on the verge of flipping out
so some spam-man can play Crocodile Dunderhead?]
