Date: Mon, 27 Feb 1995 17:26:14 CST From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Mon 02/26/95 By: kathy%gundog@lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, February 26, 1995 Damn! We lost the pre-show burble and about 5 minutes of the actual show due to babblings from the O.J. Simpson trial. Paige and Emily Share Some Bad News ==================================== Paige, who has found out she has 3 months to live, must find a way to tell her daughter, Emily. Emily wonders if the new cancer means more chemo or another operation. Paige tells her she's headed for "Dirt-Nap City"! In an emotional scene Emily finally understands that death is near for her mother. Monica butts in and offers them a trip to Port Charles. Paige and Emily agree that Port Chuck sounds like a little slice o'heaven. Monica accompanies them home from the clinic, offering Paige much-needed moral and emotional support. After Emily gets to sleep, Paige reveals her fears about the child's future to Monica. She explains that there is no family left for Emily to turn to. She talks about orphanages, etc., making herself more miserable and eventually bursts into tears. Monica says she has an idea. She asks Paige if she would allow Emily to come to Port Charles and live with the Quartermaines. Paige thanks her and says she'll consider it. Boris & Natasha Revel in the Discomfort of their Enemies =============================================================== [perfect nickname for these two...nya-AH-AH!] Katherine and Damian observe Luke and Sonny arguing at the bar; Damian enjoys seeing Luke climbing all over Sonny and threatening to dump him as a partner. Damian hints that he might use Sonny to bring down Luke; Kate is delightfully surprised that Damian would sink so low. He Ain't Heavy, He's my Sociopathic-Murdering-Brother! =============================================================== Kevin and Lucy rush out of Luke's Club and head to the looney bin after Kevin gets the call that Ry-baby has been found dead. At the bin, Kevin discovers there's no obvious cause of death; the old faithful "heart failure" is listed on the death certificate. He is told that Ryan recently claimed he had been beaten and had received death threats. He's also told that they suspected the injuries were self-inflicted, so Ryan was never put under guard. All in all, Ryan was not viewed in a sympathetic light at the bin. Kevin (perhaps feeling a bit guilty about abandoning his serial-murdering kin) asks probing questions about Ryan's death and is mostly on the offensive. They learn that an autopsy is scheduled for the morning. Kevin wants to talk to Connie Cooper. Connie is stunned to see how identical Kevin and Ryan are. She expresses her condolences about Ryan, and Kevin probes for more information on her friendship with Dr StrangeLove. Connie insists that she saw only Ryan's good side and told Kevin and Lucy about teaching Ryan crochet and how he wanted to be a farmer in Provence [gack]. Kevin thanks Connie for being a friend to Ryan. Then they all leave to view the body. Kevin looks at his "dead" brother and says one word..."Ryan". Lucy and Kevin book a room at a nearby motel; they want to be there at the autopsy next morning. Kevin tells Lucy he's sad about Ryan, but not overcome with grief. He says he's filled with an overpowering sense of freedom now that he's finally closing the book on Ryan. Meanwhile, there's dirty work afoot in the morgue where Ryan's body is being kept. Connie crept down there and switched Ryan's body with another dead guy and she also switched identifying toe-tags! Luke Confides in Sonny. Sonny confides in Brenda. Can Brenda Keep Her Big Fat Mouth Shut?? ============================================================================== Luke's planning on leaving Port Chuck for Beacher's Corners. He tells Sonny how much he dreads telling Laura about Sean getting shot. He says he's got to be able to tell her that the mob thing is under control. Sonny assures Luke he'll take care of the business with Skully. Brenda fills Sonny in on the Ned/Lois situation. Then she demands to know about the Sean shooting and how Luke was involved, etc. Sonny warns her that what he's going to tell her is extremely confidential. Brenda agrees and says she's capable of keeping her mouth shut. Then Sonny tells her about his history with Skully (about how Joe was in the mob, how he mentored Sonny, how he set him up in business at the Paradise Lounge when Harry wanted to retire, etc.). He tells Brenda that he owes Skully big-time for what he did in the past. However, now, in 1995, Joe heads up the New York mob operation and he came up to Port Chuck to not only pay Sonny a visit but to get "tribute" (in the form of 10% of the gross profits) from Luke's club. He told how Luke refused Skully and now he (Sonny) is playing go-between. He assures her that he and Luke are working on the problem and that Brenda must be completely cool about the whole situation. He warns her that she's got to stay out of it...no ragging on him, no blabbing! Sonny tells Brenda that he's leveling with her because he knows she'll worry herself to death about it if he doesn't spill. She wants reassurance that Sonny is out of the line of fire; Sonny tells her that sentiment only goes so far with Joe. He assures Brenda that SHE isn't in danger as long as everyone stays cool. Sonny tells Brenda to continue being friendly with Joe and to "play dumb". The Spencer Family at Play and on the Run ====================================================================== Over a friendly game of cards, Bobbie tells Ruby there's been no word from Tony since he left with Sean and Tiff for the hospital in Boston. Luke breezes in and wants to talk to the gals and Lucky, too. He tells them that he and Lucky are traveling to Beacher's Corners the next day; they'll be home in time for Mow-Mow's warbling at Luke's place the next evening, though. Lucky kicks up a fuss that Laura and Lesley-Lu can't come home yet; he says he misses the rest of the family. end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end
