Daily Updates
From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday February 23, 1995 Date: Thu, 23 Feb 1995 23:41:41 GMT I have been REALLY impressed with Sharon Wyatt's swan song. It must have been tempting to sluff the last days after getting summarily fired, but she's been *very* professional (of course, this is smart: gets her other jobs, maybe gets them back at GH when OJTV is finally over, etc.) It's the best acting I've seen from her in the three years I've been watching. Back with the miscarriage and the suicide attempt I thought she looked like she was sleepwalking through scenes, and I read that she had had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome before, and it looked like she needed a rest. This time she is really on top of the scenes. Very impressive. End of editorial, time for the update! 1. We see Alan and Monica. Monica is feeling guilty for dragging Alan away and then not even letting him know if it did any good. But he HAS helped. Now go home. She's through the worst of it and will be going home in a week herself, and she wants to give him a bit of a rest. They agree that trusting each other with the truth they're closer than they've ever been. Monica asks Alan "were you always this sensitive?" I know the answer to that one... seems I heard about him attempting to kill her at least once. But he's Prince Charming (albeit a bit stouter) now! They're playing Hearts with Emily and Paige and Emily shoots the moon and wins. She doesn't want Alan to leave but he promises to send her a postcard, not even addressed to "Dear Occupant." He goes to see her tarantulas (is this a girl for Lucky or what??) while Monica finds out that Paige has another lump on her rib. Emily tells Alan that tarantulas only bite if they're scared or angry and Alan thinks of Monica and draws the obvious connection. Emily gets Alan to promise to bring Monica back for the cactus flowers and May Sweeps. 2. Tom and Simone have it out. She wonders how it went with his parents? Audrey has been the perfect mother-in-law [No, I wasn't through editorializing! I hope that if they are working on an Alztheimer's story for Audrey they do show that there's a difference between common absent-mindedness (the glasses on the head) which happens to all of us, especially as we age, and the disease. I don't want everyone suddenly being afraid they're senile if they forget a word.] Tom tells Simone he still loves her, and asks her to come to Africa with him. She is reluctant because of her job, and Tommy, and tell her about the competition, anyway. Her name is Kelly and yes, Tom has slept with her, but if Simone will only come to Africa, he'll give it all up. "There's nothing as important as putting the family back together!" "As long as it's on your terms!" Simone says it isn't a choice, it's an ultimatum. It's not a marriage, it's an illusion of structure, kept together with paper. You can also tell she's annoyed with herself for NOT taking advantage of Justus while she had the chance. 3. Robin is still feeling rocky. Mac tells her about Sean and she starts to rant about how it's not fair! (Sounds like Lucy yesterday, but with more justification, considering her age.) Stone comes and comforts her, which annoys Mac, because HE was just getting on Robin's nerves and because he doesn't have anyone to comfort him. Stone promises (Over the Ominous Knell of Doom, which I've been missing) that he isn't going to die and he isn't going anywhere. 4. They do an emergency patch on Sean, throwing Tiffany out of the room and pulling the blinds. Bobbie comes out to talk to her. Bobbie and Tony talk about Sean and Tiff, and Bobbie comments that each day is important. Somehow she doesn't blame Lucy for this. Mac comes to see Tiffany and Tiffany remarks on the irony that it's a *friend* that finally brings Sean down. She tells about going out to shoot with her Daddy and killing a possum. She says that she didn't leave acting when she got married, that "being a cop's wife was the performance of my life." But the curtain's going down, it's her turn for Sean. Tiffany goes to see Sean who says he has the hangover of his life. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe | Apples and oranges are a different jyarnot@netcom.com | kettle of fish.
