     General Hospital Update for Monday, February 20, 1995

A "holiday" update in semi-Johnny style --

Lois aks Ned to turn down the intensity, relationship-wise [but HIS dial goes
to 11, Lois!].  Lois says they've got to tell her parents that they've
reconciled.  Ned goes, "uh oh!"  They plan to pop in on the Cerullo family the
next day.  Ned and Lois decide that expensive gifts might soften up Lois'
parents.

Simone and Tom share a long hug; Justus and Tommy are their audience.  Justus
and Tom are introduced.  Justus takes his leave, after Simone offers a
rain-check on her "pot-pie" [is that what they call it?].  Tom tries to
reconnect with Tommy, but feels like a stranger to his son.  There's a lot of
tension between the adults. Simone and Tom make uncomfortable small talk while
Tommy receives his presents from Africa.  Tommy blurts out that he thought his
dad was never coming home.  Tom awkwardly explains that he was taking care of
sick kids.  "Why can't you take care of sick kids at home, like Mom does" asks
Tommy.  After dinner, and after Tommy has been tucked into bed, Tom and Simone
get down serious talk.  Simone says that Tommy needs a dad...period.  A dad who
is there for him.  Plus, she needs a partner to help raise him and a husband
for herself.  "What's the point of preserving our marriage like it is now?"
she asks him.  Tom tries to explain to Simone how fulfilling his job in Africa
is.  He asks her to join him in Chad [what, no Jeremy?].  She hesitates and
mentions that might be kind of awkward in light of his own "personal
situation" outlined in his last few letters [hmmm...does Tarzan-Tom have
another Jane swinging on his vine? Has Cheetah been cheatin'?].

Behind the No-Name Club, Garcia's crew surrounds Luke who is cradling Sean in
his arms.  Luke babbles about a second shooter who used a silencer, etc. Garcia
doesn't believe him and slaps the cuffs on the Lukester. Luke retells his story
to Garcia who warns him, "you better hope Sean doesn't die!"  At GH, Audrey and
Steve are on duty when the call comes in that Sean is on his way to the
emergency room.  Sean looks bad and Steve orders Amy to round up the surgical
crew and call Doc Tony.  Meanwhile, Audrey calls the Tiffster and breaks the
news about Sean.  Tiff flies off.  At PCPD, Luke calls Justus and asks him to
represent him.  He gives him a thumbnail account of the night's happenings.
Soon after Justus arrives at PCPD, Garcia starts the serious questioning of
Luke (complete with stenographer).  For the third time, Luke tells Garcia
exactly what happened.  At GH Tiff bursts in and learns that Sean is in
critical condition and is on the way to surgery.  She rushes off to call
Princess Filly.  Filly gallops into GH.  Tiff talks to a PCPD officer who is
standing by in case Sean regains consciousness; he needs a statement about the
order of the shots and if there was a second shooter.  The officer tells Tiff
that Luke was the one who shot Sean.  The questioning is winding down but
Garcia wants to keep Luke at PCPD until Sean is out of surgery.
