                            GH Update for 2/10/95
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Scene 1
Stone comes to see Robin. They rebond, and she asks how his throat is [one
of several references to his flu today]. "Don't worry about that," he
replies, "but oddly my jaw is a bit sore."
Scene 2
Ned bounces into the Outback for a late dinner with Lois. He engages Mac in
a conversation about Sonny. They both express worries over Sonny's
associations.
Scene 3
At Luke's, Harry comes in looking for a little poker action. He immediately
hits on Bobbie at the bar [like who doesn't]. Luke suggests Bobbie play as
well and agrees to stake her. Luke and Harry briefly discuss Joe Scully who
will also be playing.
Scene 4
Stone relates the story of his confrontation with Mac. Robin tells Stone
she's going to issue some rules for Mac. Stone expresses some concern that
Mac might have a point. She will probably go off to Yale and meet someone
more like herself. She dismisses the idea and makes some seductive
suggestions. Again, he mentions his flu.
Scene 5
Mac tells Ned he alerted Luke about Joe Scully. Lucy and Kevin arrive and
banter briefly with Mac and Ned, but when Kevin asks about Felicia, Lucy
starts to get into a huff. Mac tells him Frisco is returning for the baby's
birth.
Scene 6
Ryan starts to compose a note for Connie.
Scene 7
Lucy in her own amusing style rants about Felicia. Kevin tries to assuage
her anxiety and reassure her ego by telling her again he loves her.
[Faithful update readers will no doubt have noticed that Lucy used one of
the foreign phrases we covered previously, ad nauseam. I'm sure you felt
great satisfaction that you knew what she meant.]
Scene 8
Ryan spins a fantasy tale of danger for Connie. He writes that he believes
someone is going to kill him.
Scene 9
In Luke's backroom, the poker game begins. Luke explains that when he was
mayor, an ordinance was passed that allowed gambling in certain areas [how
convenient].
Scene 10
Lois, looking great, meets Ned at the Outback. They banter about how good
it feels to be back together, somewhat. Ned waxes poetic about her beauty,
but then like the proverbial lemming compelled to hurl itself off a
precipice, he begins to say, "but I have a few reservations
professionally."
Scene 11
The poker game proceeds. "Harry, you raising?" Bobbie asks, "Lean over the
table again, Doll, and I will be," he answers with a wink. Mike comes in
and asks Luke for a check approval. He gets the usual snide abuse from Joe
Scully. As he's leaving, he secretly picks up a couple of card decks.
Outside the room, he examines them then walks off with a smile.
Scene 12
Stone arrives at the club and promptly chugs some water. He mentions to
Mike about his sore throat. Mike hits on him for a $150 loan and heads for
the poker game.
Scene 13
Mike buys into the game for $200, but starts off losing badly much to Joe
Scully's pleasure.
Scene 14
Ned subtly tries to broach the subject of Sonny. His approach is that Sonny
will be too busy with Luke's club and his "other" businesses to pay
adequate attention to L&B Records and will lose interest. He wants Lois to
buy Sonny out. As usual, Brenda disagrees and says Sonny will be fine.
Scene 15
Mike plays the poor boy in the game, even going so far as to borrow $100
more from Luke, but then he wins a big pot. Luke watches intently and
suspiciously.
Scene 16
As the game continues, Mike becomes the big winner, eventually, cashing out
with $3000. Outside the room, Luke angrily tells Mike he knows what went
down, and it better never happen again or he's out of there. Mike plays
innocent, but agrees never to do it again what ever it is.
Scene 17
Mac asks Kevin for advice on how to deal with Robin. Kevin says to accept
what he can't change and to remember he loves her. After Mac leaves, Kevin
asks Lucy if she'd consider moving in with him. They both admit to being
terrified at the thought. Lucy amusingly babbles a litany of gross things
she doesn't want him to find out about her, e.g. she sometimes buys new
clothes rather than cleaning up the old ones. Still, he says he's very sure
they should do it; at least, he thinks he's very sure.
Scene 18
Ryan paces his room, then after plaintively saying, "Connie love me," he
breaks into maniacal laughter.
Scene 19
Mac returns home to Robin and her list of demands. He remains restrained,
and they agree to try to respect each other's feelings. Mac does try to
stress his worries about Sonny and his associates being big trouble.
Scene 20
Luke questions Sonny about Joe Scully, and Sonny admits that Joe took out
Cusack. Luke asks if it's safe to bring Laura and the baby back now. Sonny
suggests Luke give it another day or so. Luke tells Sonny he had better not
mess with him. [I really like Luke these days, nice and nasty.]
