From: chips@eskimo.com (:crp:) Subject: GH: Update 01-17 Tues Date: Wed, 18 Jan 1995 03:03:13 GMT General Hospital Update Tue Jan 17, '94 Yeah, NO MIG!!! A day without Mig is like a day without canker sores. Laura is packing up some stuff with LesLu when Luke enters, checking up on the progress and LesLu. Lucky comes in with only his school backpack. He tells him he thought about Texas and decided to stay in PC with Luke. This leads to a full scale argument [with raised voices!] between parents and child. At his wits ends, Lucky suggests that he will be just as safe at Ruby's as Beechers Corner with Foster. Luke buys into that argument, that either way Lucky will be out of the house and Luke's hair. So he is willing as long as nothing further happens. Laura agrees with the condition if anything happens Lucky will get on the next plane with no argument. Luke sends junior off to school and then Laura heads off, as they hug with tears. For once, Luke is tired and worried. Ned enters the studio all full of vigor and vim, and singing away. Lois trails slowly after, once again suffering hangover like symptoms. Lois acts cooly toward him and is looking over messages while Ned talks on. Ned is all ready to start going over some of the stuff he and the band, after Lois had pooped out, jammed till 4AM when the hotel closed down the lounge. Lois says L I N E O F T H E D A Y "What are you, that battery bunny or something?" and No, he should save his voice, besides there's a meeting with Sonny et al about Mig's video. [Yes, i know i didn't get the flow of conversation quite right. Anyone who wants can post the correct dialogue flow. But this is the gist of it.] Lois lays down on the couch and Ned offers to bring the luggage to her bedroom. She says its ok, just leave them there. He then offers her the services of the Q hot tub, she demurs and tells him that she just needs lots of coffee and he needs to hold off on the caffeine. She puts her head down but he gives her that puppy dog look. She asks what does he need, he says her. To be specific, he and she needs more of the same kismit that they had going the previous two gigs. Lois says no, things will be going back to normal in a copule of weeks [Ned's leave of absence will be over from ELQ]. Ned insists that they give it a go, treat it like a roller coast. And perhaps, just perhaps, a solution to the Ned/Ed & Lois will make itself apparant. MaeMay and Keisha get into a tiff over the board makeup. MaeMay can't believe that Keisha got involved with Jason and AJ getting together on the company. Keisha feels that she calmed troubled waters, MaeMay that the waters got muddied. Keisha admits to the sibling jealousy over her, but insists that her diplomacy smoothed things over and the three of them will lead to better things. MaeMay hotly debates this premise, then tries to calmly explain to Keisha that often its better to stay out of others family problems since one good deed often leads to several bad ones. Keisha protests against that philosophy and MaeMay lets it rest. She then tells Keisha about the club. Sonny is being questioned by the insurance agent & cops as to who might have wanted to bomb the club. Garcia tells him that the incidiary device was a professional job. Brenda and Stone full of worry and concern for Sonny. Brenda starts throwing a fit and ranting and raving at Sonny (within earshot of the others). Sonny brings them upstairs and tries again to calm her down. She keeps asking who did it and why, he says don't know. He asks about Buffalo, she tells him it was great and how is this club fire-bombing going to affect L&B. He tells her it won't and asks her to tell Lois in person. Also, it would be best if Brenda stayed over at the studio for a couple of days. Brenda is still put off and gives him a cold shoulder. She gets her stuff together, calms down a bit and they kiss goodbye as Luke enters. Luke is to the least, po'ed at Sonny. Luke thought the legit and mob arms would be kept totally apart. Sonny says that was the idea. Luke asks what happened to the idea of being non-violent? Sonny replies that the drugs and prostitution were sold to Detroit and he kept the numbers, protection, etc. And Kusak went for this? Nope, and thats why he was kicked out. Sonny maintains that the streets are paved with gold and doing it his way will let everyone be happy and peacefull (on the mob side). Harry comes in and he has bad news: the bombing was Kusack. Luke leaves in order to maintain his seperation from Sonny's illegit side and Harry talks Sonny into getting rid of Kusack. For good. Oh, and Harry unretires to help Sonny. Luke goes down to finish things up with the insurance agent when The Big Idiot arrives. For a change, Luke is serious when he talks to TBI. Luke maintains he has no knowledge of the who or why. TBI warns him about Sonny and when Luke starts defending him TBI says he is not speaking as a cop but as one who owes Luke his life and as a friend: Sonny is poison. Luke turns jocular and they go back to their usual banter. TBI goes up to see Sonny. MaeMay arrives and asks Luke the same question everyone else is: Who/Why ? The two chat amiably a bit, and Luke seems relaxed for the first time. Brenda goes to the studio and tells all to Lois and Ned. Lois is worried and sympathetic to the situation. Ned is outraged and says 'I told you so'. Brenda keeps on saying 'Shut up Ned' so he finally gives up and leaves. Brenda is desperatly trying to keep her faith in Sonny and is hoping that an old neighborhood pal of his is going to back her up. Unfortunately, Lois has no faith in Sonny. She will only go along for the ride because there is no choice. In the meantime, Ned goes to Mac and hires him to dig up the info on Sonny. Thing is, it has to be done very discretely so that Lois will never find out that Ned went behind her back and didn't trust her judgement. They decide the best way to go is to Lois' parents. They are from the neighborhood and probably know all about Sonny's old time connections and activities. In the eventuallity that there is a PC wedding and they bump into Mac, Mac will say he was looking into Sonny because of the Robin-Stone connection.
