Daily Updates
Date: Tue, 10 Jan 1995 12:58:41 CST From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Mon 01/09/95 By: kathy%gundog@lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, January 9 Weekly update from the Contra Costa (California) County Times for 1/3-1/6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lila told Mary-Mae that she wished she had known Bradley, and MM suggested she get to know Justus. Justus won a seat on the city council and a fund-raiser at the Outback paid off his campaign debts. Justus agreed to work with Edward on a project to rebuild Charles Street and create jobs for the people. Edward put AJ in charge of ELQ's interest in the project. Luke was suspicious of Mike Corbin, a man who asked for a job. Sonny is determined to keep his partnership with Damian a secret from Luke and Brenda. Monica had her first group therapy at La Mesa, the cancer recovery center in Arizona. Lucy and Kevin made love. Robin was accepted to Yale but doesn't want to leave Stone. Ned's latest concert was a huge success. ICK and LeLee consulted with a priest [marriage or exorcism? what to do...what to do...]. SPOILER: Ron Hale, best known as Dr Roger Coleridge on Ryan's Hope, is playing Mike Corbin, Luke's new bartender on General Hospital. Little Robin Tries to Micro-Manage her Deflowering...Cute as hell! ==================================================================== Stone and Robin are alone in the Scorpio house, talking and necking. She's on Stone's back (so to speak!) to get on with the getting it on "while they still can!" Stone interprets this to mean "before I go off to college and have a real life". And, indeed, Robin wants to have sex with him before Unkie Mac can pack her off to Yale. Stone, however, sensitive new-age guy that he is, declines to slip her the pork chop because they don't have "protection". [okay, I have to say something here...two sex-crazed hormones-pulsing I-love-you-NO-I-LOVE-you kids who want to make love but are held back by lack of protection??? Writers, get real! Why didn't they pillage Unkie Mac's nightstand or bathroom. Hell, Robin's a smart girl, go see if there's any Saran Wrap in the kitchen, Baggies, a shower cap!] Also, Stone is afraid that Mac will catch them and end up handing him his sausage and eggs on a platter. Robin, ever the little smarty, wants to set up an appointment with Stone to have sex. Then she tries to convince him to accompany her to New Haven but he delicately points out that he's a no-education loser so what would he do at Yale? He tells her he's hooked himself to Sonny's star and wants to get involved in the music scene with Luke's club and L&B Records. They talk a bit more before he decides to split. Stone takes his leave but runs into Spam on the way out. They exchange brief unpleasantries then Mac and Robin get down to a real fight. Mac is hacked off that Robin ignored the "no Stone" rule at the house and he tries to ground her for a month but Robin flings his threats off. Later on they try to make up and discuss things calmly. Mac avers that Stone is a bad influence; Robin defends him and says she's in love with him. More fighting before Robin announces that Mac can lay down any rules he wishes, but she'll do exactly as she pleases. Mac replies, "not without a fight from me!" He Ain't Heavy, He's Mah Psychopathic Brother! =============================================== Ryan greets Kevin with a cheery "welcome home" as he enters the visitors area of the looney bin. Rybaby says he knew that one day Kevin would forgive him and want to see him again. He says that they should forget about the past and move forward. Kevin tells Ryan that he's fallen in love; Ryan guesses it must be Filly. He's shocked to learn that Lucy has captured his brother's heart [not to mention other, vital bodily parts!]. Rybaby claims that Lucy is a nutty broad but she does have a bod to die for. Kevin huffily repeats that he's in love with her so have some respect! Kevin goes on to tell Ryan all the old news from Port Chuck. That Filly and Mac broke up after she was impregnated by ex-hubby Wack Jagner. Ryan gets all worked up over Filly raising a baby by herself. He says he's still got "closure" problems over Felicia. Then Kevin surprises Ryan when he ways he's got some closure problems of his own and this isn't exactly a reconciliation visit. This is the final break between the brothers. Kevin relates the whole Grace thing; Ryan is not sympathetic. Then Kevin says he's finally free of Grace AND Ryan; Ryan replies, "Kevin, not in your wildest dreams!" More dialogue ends with Kevin telling Rybaby that he's sorry Ryan's brilliant life was wasted by his bad choices. Rybaby insists they're connected for life; essentially, he tells Kevin "you can run but you can't hide (from me)". Kevin finally leaves and Ryan stares (eyes full of emotion) at him through the bars. "I'm Gonna Rip Out That Tumor and Stomp that Sucker Flat!" =========================================================== Monica's barricades are broken down at the wellness center. Her cynicism and sarcasm are met with gentleness, understanding, and compassion. She finally admits that if she acknowledges (or "claims") the cancer, which she must do in order to really fight it, that the very act of acknowledging the disease will defeat her. She has a heartfelt talk with another patient and finally admits all her fears. They share a tearful interlude and Monica allows the woman to comfort her and thanks her for understanding the pain and fear. Only Kryptonite Could Slow That Eddie Maine Down! =================================================== The tour-from-hell is turning into a hell for Lois. Her plan to exhaust the Nedling with the Idle Rich's ball-busting tour has backfired big time. He's thriving on the performing, the PR, the attention, everything. After the performance, Ned goes backstage with the band and schmoozes with the crowd, signs autographs, etc. She yells for security when the fillies start to mob her man [it's the leather pants!]. Ned works the crowd like a politician and Lois pays particular attention when he tells one fan that she should follow her dreams, her passions, and not to subvert her creativity. end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end
