From: yarnot@babbage.ecs.csus.edu (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday Dec. 15, 1994 Date: 16 Dec 1994 08:04:38 GMT Bobbie and Laura talk. Laura is still convinced that Luke is alive, and Bobbie takes comfort from that. Later, Laura remembers scenes with Luke from the past. Sports pennants everywhere, the Outback is ready for the shower, and the 4 "uncles"/godfathers are ready (almost) for Felicia, who is on time for the first time in her life, because she's dying of curiousity. Mannheim Steamroller [YES!] on the stereo, and Felicia is surprised. Once they discuss sensitive male-hood, she's ready for the presents! Sean has given the baby a baseball glove... which is not a discriminatory present unless "he" is a lefty! Tony has given her a train for the Christmas tree... Filly decides to set it up NEXT year and Tony generously offers to take care of it with Lucas for Felicia. [My best birthday present ever was a train when I was 10, I can relate!] Kevin has given the baby a sweatshirt from Yale, and it's a sweatshirt of the month club, covering all the ivies, plus some other excellent institutions, to remind the infant that education is important. Mac has gone to his roots and gives Felicia a koala. It's cuddly. Kevin had a panda when he was a boy, and he chewed the ear off it. Tony asks "was it still alive?" Mac didn't have a stuffed animal, he had a blankie. Tony had a stuffed dog which he loved into an unrecognizable lump. What did Sean have? Well, it seems his aunt Dierdre made him a ... doll... and yes, darn it, he loved her, took her to bed and everywhere. Felicia asks what the doll's name was? Well, uh, ahem... Fred. There are touching thank-yous, and F. is hungry, and weepy. Mariah [fresh from Babylon5] and Maxie come in, there are tearful goodbyes, and the snow starts to fall, which Mac regards as appropriate. Edward comes downstairs and is surprised by the entire family (sans Monica, who's feeling poorly) ready to go to the courthouse with him. He's excited. Today he will be exonerated. At the courthouse, Mary- Mae is surprised to see Keesha, who has cut class to be there. The judge really likes the gavel, and beats on the bench after every commercial, shouting "order in the court!" even when we left on stunned silence. Milton begins to interrogate Myrna. She lived in PC in '73 and '74. She met Jack when she came to PC with a road show, which folded. He bankrolled a Broadway show, which, surprise surprise, folded. Then he suggested she move to Port Charles and set up a love nest. He could relax with her, unlike his "hoity toity social set." He would talk about Bradley Ward as "that wretched reformer." The night of June 30-July 1, 1974 is clear in Myrna's mind. Around 4 AM Jack came in, pacing, and there was a gun in his jacket pocket. Jack claimed it was for protection, but eventually he admitted that the call that had come to his house was from Bradley! They talked a long time, and Dr. Ward told Jack to stuff the blackmail. Bradley had already told his mother, and was ready to announce it in church, but he would keep fighting. Jack killed Bradley. It was an alternative plan suggested by Frank Smith, and Jack had filched the gun from Edward's gun case on Long Island. He had to get the gun back to the Quartermaines. [WAITAMINNIT. THEN WHO FIRED THE SECOND SHOT FROM THE GUN BRADLEY WAS HOLDING?? OR DID JACK JUST NEGLECT TO TELL MYRNA ABOUT THAT?] Comes DA Schultz, still working on getting elected [and since the claim was that this was "almost 20 years ago", maybe it's spring in the courthouse?] He draws out that Myrna used to be a "waitress" in the Passkey club, and would sometimes date the wealthy members, and that Edward had told her he would be "very grateful." Uproar and gavel. It doesn't look good for Eddie the Q, till MaryMae stands up and starts roaring "Stop harassing that woman! Edward Quartermaine did NOT kill Bradley! I know it's the truth and I will tell you why!" -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe | OK, I love you, bye-bye!
