                           General Hospital Update
                               Tues Nov 08, '94

This is a little late to the Republican tidal wave which overtook my tv.

KatyBel & Damien are having a celebratory 'we are alive' bottle. Damien, in
his clumsy way, is trying to tell KatyBel of his feelings for her. He asks
why she chased after Scotty & Ned when what she wanted was always right there
for her. KatyBel is a bit wary, not quite trusting him as they go on. She
finally accepts the possibility that he does mean it and asks him what he has
to convince her. He admits he is not in the chips right now, but

Damien
and Katybel talk about what they may do together and the Q's.

EdQ, AJ, Jason and Lila are watching the lawyer being interviewed by Tiff. He
does quite a good job stating the case that wealth does not equal evil. Jason
impolitely brings up that only rich people can afford excellent lawyers. EdQ
ripostes with when did it become wrong to be rich.

Filly walks in on Bobi in the dining room. She asks Bobi if it is OK for Tony
to go to Cairo to help look for his brother. Bobi says yes, but her language
is no. Filly picks up on it and presses that if Bobi says no she'll tell Tony
not to come. Bobi tells Filly she is worried that any progress they have or
could've made in sessions as people (never mind as a couple) will be
thwarted. Filly offers the hope that maybe the seperation of time + space
will give Tony room to reconsider his feelings for Bobi.

Alan , looking like hell, walks into the room where the Q's are discussing
the lawyer and the case against EdQ. They ask him what is wrong. At Monica's
checkup a tumor was found. Monica must go back for more surgery tomorrow. AJ
asks if it is malignent, Alan says probably. In response to Jason's prompts
Alan informs that it is possible that the cancer is back in full rage. AJ
loses it upon hearing this. Alan gets him down. EdQ demands they do something
about it, and Alan responds that there is not much a Q can do. AJ, after
receiving instructions from Alan, goes up to see Monica. Jason follows him,
as much to comfort and assist AJ as to see Monica himself. Alan brings up the
rear as they pay a bedside visit. They chat about the new tumor for a while,
Monica starts getting them joking about her being bald. AJ starts to lose it
and Alan manages to shepard them out. Monica admits to Alan that she is at
her wits end and at the breaking point. Alan tell her that they will all
going to help her. She notes that none of them can take the surgery or chemo
for her. She starts venting her frustration about her plight as Alan tries to
assauge her. That tactic doesn't help as she really gets down, so he changes
his tune and starts arguing with her! That doesn't do either, as Monica tells
him she wants to crawl away and die.

Sonny + Mac meet at the Outback bar. Sonny talks to Mac about the vagaries of
the music business. Mac asks him about Smith & Bradly. Sonny states it was
before his time. Mac seconds with Smith & Bolen. Sonny won't answer one way
or another really. He pushes Mac off by reminding Mac that Sonny still needs
to live in PC at peace with as many people as possible. Sonny leaves + goes
to see Luke, which happens to be Justus's hospital room. Luke introduces
Sonny to Justus. The two of them verbally spar for a minute. Justus asks
Sonny for info on Smith + his father. Sonny replies that's funny, Mac just
asked the same question. Sonny says he doesn't mind talking about things
except in cases where it might get his throat cut.        They figure that EdQ
hired Mac to get dirt on Bolen and/or Smith. Luke doesn't buy it, but Justus
points out that of the 4 people on the airport plan Smith was the most likely
one to use murder as a tool.

Tony visits Kevin. He tells Kevin about his plan to go with Filly and that
Bobi accused him of deciding to find Frisco in order to avoid the sessions.
He is no longer sure himself if that is possible. Kevin tells him that the
Frisco trip was legitimate. As to the avoidance of the sessions, only Tony
can answer. There is nothing wrong will feeling doubt about the process. Tony
feels that the trip is what he has to do. Kevin tells him to hang his hat on
the fact that it is the right thing to do and not worry about the right/wrong
of the situation. It would be a good idea however to make therapy a definite
part of his future, so make an appointment.

Monica has a palm full of pills in her hand. Alan comes in to the room, sees
her, shouts at her what is she doing. He runs to the bed, grabs the pills and
throws them out the balcony, while she yells he is throwing out over a $100
worth of pills. Alan shouts what was she thinking, she replies counting the
medication. She asks him why he did that and he starts 'I thought you ...'
when she realizes what he thought. She assures him she was not thinking of
that, just making sure she got a good night's sleep for the next day. He
starts crying and tells her of his fears of her dying. They settle down and
they start laughing about the situation, since Monica won't get a good sleep
since her hero threw them out. Alan goes out with a flashlight to find some
pills. When he leaves, Monica totally breaks down and sobs. [why? because her
plans were foiled or that Alan thought she would do it?]
