First off I'm reminded that last year at this time Southern California
was in the midst those horrible fires.  Hopefully we will continue to
be spared this year.  Now on to the show.

Physician Heal Thyself
----------------------
Lucy makes a visit to Kevin's office and she's just as surprised as he is
that she is there.  She tells him how hurt and troubled she is by the events
of the night before.  She accuses Kevin of not investing in emotional honesty
when that's the advice he gives her.  She wants clarification from him...
not from a professional perspective but a personal one...is something
happening between them?  Lucy turns on a little charm and tells Kevin how
much she enjoys him..he's funny, smart, and he turns her on.  She's at ease
with him, the most since Scott and has started to trust him but isn't sure
anymore since Kevin is only willing to trust her with the easy stuff...he
doesn't risk his feelings.  She wants him to trust her enough to tell her
what is holding him back.  Otherwise she's not interested and deserves better.
Kevin says she's right and acknowledges he has a problem but that they both
have tempestuous relationships in their past.  She accuses Kevin of shutting
her out again.  If she was his patient he would advise her to get out of a
relationship where her feelings get stomped on all the time.  When he can
answer her, only then should he consider calling her.

Tony visits Kevin for his first session.  He admits he doesn't want to
remain angry, depressed and alone for the rest of his life.  He doesn't
have a lot of confidence therapy will work but he doesn't have a better
idea and he wants hope he won't be this way the rest of his life.  Kevin
gets Tony to talk about his anger.  Tony talks about missing caring about
things and having an investment in something.  Tony agrees that the next
session will be a joint session with Bobbie the next Friday.  Once Tony
leaves Kevin picks up the phone and calls Lucy.  He tells her. "When you
are right, you are right."  Lucy coyly asks "About what?"  Kevin wants to
meet her and tell her in person but Lucy wants Kevin to tell her right then
and there.  But Kevin won't budge.  Kevin finally convinces Lucy to meet
him at 6 at the Outback.  When Lucy hangs up she has a smile on her face.

Graduation
----------
Alan brings Monica back from her chemo but she won't let him help her to
the bed.  When he asks if she's going to be sick, she looks awful, Monica
dissolves into hysterics.  Alan tells Monica she's acting drunk and Monica
says she is drunk.  She has graduated.  They talk about the prospect she'll
probably lose more hair.  Alan suggest she pack her head in ice, it's not
proven but some say it works.  Monica jokes that instead of being a bald
eagle she then could be a numb-skull.  Alan tells her to do whatever she
feels like doing.  They talk about Monica going shopping for wigs but they
both draw the line at a darker blonde with expensive clothes.  She doesn't
have the energy to be Katherine.  Monica moves back to the bed after looking
the the mirror and Alan lies does beside her, holds her, and tells her how
proud he is of her and wants her to feel better for herself, not for him.
[Leslie Charleson better be in the list of Emmy nominations!!!]

Going After the Quartermaines

Edward introduces Mary May to Lila and then Lila excuses herself so Edward
and Mary May can talk.  MM recounts the threatening phone call to Justus,
Justus' visit to Ned and then tells Edward Justus was beaten within an inch
of his life.  Edward is obviously disturbed (yes that is his grandson) and
assures MM he had nothing to with the beating.  MM believes him but counters
that someone he knows or someone who works for him did have something to do
with the beating.  Edward tries to tell her he has no knowledge but MM
suggests he acquire that knowledge.  MM leaves and Edward sinks into the sofa
deeply troubled.  Ned is outraged to learn from Edward that Justus was beaten.
He and Edward accuse each other of being behind it until Lila calls on them
to stop.  Ned apologizes to Edward and speculates that it could be Jack
Boland who is responsible.  That sets Edward off, Jack's just in it for
business but Ned counters Jack is greedy.  They once again raise their voices
over the "land grab" until Reginald announces Sean is there demanding to see
them.  Edward wants to know. "Now what??"  Ned pleads lack of knowledge of
the beating unitl just before Sean arrived.  Sean makes the connection
between Justus' beating and the attack on Laura and wonders if they have any
ideas since they are linked to the incinerator.  Ned is about to say something
but Edward stops him.  If Sean discovers there is any link to ELQ he'll be
sure to come after all the Quartermaines.  Before Sean leaves he informs
Edward that the DA is going to the grand jury with the evidence against
Edward in the Bradley Ward murder the next day.  Edward tells Ned and Lila
about the circumstantial evidence against him.  Ned figures there must be
something else or else the DA wouldn't have gone to the grand jury.  But of
course they won't know what that something else is unless an indictment is
handed up.  Lila is distressed that someone they deal with in PC has been
responsible for all this trouble.  Ned feels they are responsible in a sense
because both Justus' beating and Bradley's death connect back to ELQ business
dealings.  Ned's had enough.  Those holding Charles Street land will just
have to take their lumps.  He has the votes and as CEO he's decided to look
for a site across the river for the incinerator.  "Justus may have gotten
the hell beaten out of him, but he has won" says Ned.

Over at GH Bobbie and Luke talk about the beating and Luke's desire for
revenge.  Bobbies warns he might be asking for trouble especially since he
wants to bring Laura and Lesley Lu home.  Simone stops by and sees Justus'
chart and the gravity of his injuries.  She goes into Justus' room and
tearfully encourages Justus to hang in there because they've only begun to
fight.  When she comes out of his room Audrey is there.  Audrey offers to
help Simone with Justus' campaign.

MM returns home where Keesha has been frantic with worry about MM.  MM
tells Keesha she just wants to be alone for a brief rest before returning
to the hospital.  MM tells Keesha about her visit to Edward.  And no, she
doesn't believe Edward had Justus beaten but that he does have the power
to make sure there isn't another beating.  MM rests and prays...with tears.
Once again Bradley appears, this time to his mother.  She sobs about history
repeating itself.  He allows that her anger is just, it's the hatred that
is poison.  She has to forgive in her heart.  He'll be with her.
