Date: Sun, 23 Oct 1994 23:50:25 CDT From:Subject: GH: Update for Fri 10/21/94 GH Update for 10/21/94 By John R. Andrews, UIC Well, update fans did you all use last week's foreign phrase "lapsus linguae" in conversation this week, or did you suffer a lapsus memoriae (slip of the memory)? If you missed last week, you can catch up by trying out this week's phrase on one of your less fortunate friends, and God knows we all have plenty of those these days. This week's phrase is: Sans le sou (French), without a sou (money); penniless. Now, there will be no excuses this week, because I'm sure everyone knows at least one person who has been laid off recently, so it will be easy to work this week's phrase subtly into the conversation, for example, "Hi, Bob, sorry to hear you got laid off. How long will you able to go before you are sans le sou?" I'm sure he will be both warmed by your interest and impressed by your vocabulary, though he may still harbor a slight resentment if it was you who got promoted to his old position. Scene 1 Lucy visits Kevin at his office to see about his hives. As she forcibly applies some Deception skin balm to his abdomen, Bobbie enters for a consultation. Scene 2 At the GH front desk, Amy babbles on about Justus and the Q's. Steve Hardy opines that Justus has probably made an enemy of Edward by publicly rejecting his support. Scene 3 At home, Justus gets a threatening call telling him to return to Philly and to back off the incinerator project or he might end up like his father. Justus won't tell Keesha or Jason the details of the call, and although he agrees to tell the police, he insists that Mae Mae not be told. Scene 4 Lucy jabbers cluelessly to Bobbie about how Bobbie is wasting her money seeing Kevin about her marriage and suggests she should by a sexy outfit for Tony. Eventually, Kevin physically evicts Lucy, and Bobbie and he begin the session. Scene 5 At first, Kevin asks what she hopes to accomplish with the sessions. Bobbie says she wants to mend the shreds of her dignity and marriage [to say nothing of her bra]. After a bit of discussion, Bobbie emotionally explains how she convinced herself that she was helping Luke, but how the risk and excitement of Damian wanting her gave her a sense of freedom from the normal world of Tony and her job. At this point, she says, she's not sure why Tony would want her back since clearly part of her is like Damian. Scene 6 Tony tells Damian he's to be released in the morning. Damian takes the opportunity to taunt Tony again about Bobbie and calls Tony a dreary condescending bore who didn't know a good bulwark when it was in front of his nose and eyes and ears and back of his head. Scene 7 Justus shows up at ELQ to see Ned and tell him about the phone call. Ned denies any knowledge but promises to check if anyone at ELQ was involved. Justus tells Ned that he'll be in Ned's face until the incinerator project is history. Scene 8 Simone turns down Audrey's dinner invite because she's helping Justus with his campaign. Scene 9 Lucy stops Bobbie outside of Kevin's office and tells her to leave Kevin alone because, as she says, "He's mine, mine, mine." Unfortunately for her, Kevin overhears the conversation and pulls her into his office. Scene 10 Justus returns home, without seeing the police, where Jason and Keesha are organizing the campaign office. When Simone arrives, Justus quickly shows them out. Scene 11 Frank Smith's lawyer visits Damian and tells him his father thanks him for protecting his Hong Kong Bank and hence, will magnanimously not charge interest on the previous loan; however, he will require Damian to repay the loan in full as soon as the ELQ money comes in. Damian complains that after he pays back all the money he will be sans le sou. The lawyer indicates that future funds will be made available if desired. Scene 12 Kevin scolds Lucy for what she said to Bobbie. Lucy counters that Bobbie is very manipulative and can summon up tears whenever she chooses. Kevin trys to impress on her not to be so territorial, but Lucy slithers over to him and says her reason is behind her id [part of the psyche, the source of instinctive energy, good Scrabble word] where he is concerned. As things really heat up, Lucy starts to undo his shirt and finally flings herself onto his couch where they exchange this precious bit of dialog. Lucy (frustrated): Are you or are you not going to ravish me? Kevin: I thought you were ravishing me? Lucy (exasperated): Who cares? Ravisher, ravishee, ravisher, toss a coin. Kevin: I'll toss a salad. He eventually gets her to cool down somewhat and agree to dinner at his place that evening. Scene 13 Simone and Justus dine at his house on take out Chinese. He puts a minor move on her, but she's all campaign business and gives him several good ideas, but she soon has to return to GH, so he walks her out. Scene 14 Bobbie tells Tony that Lucas wants to be a taxi cab for Halloween, but she doesn't know how to make one. Tony gives her a few ideas and tells her how to say get out of my way in Pakistani, but eventually volunteers to do it all. Finally, she blurts out that she's seeing Kevin professionally. As in the oldest profession, he asks. No, of course, he didn't say that you silly goose, you know that Tony wouldn't say that. Anyway, she asks if he'd be interested in joint therapy. He replies in principle it sounds like a good idea, but he's not sure yet that he wants to save the marriage, and if she pushes too hard in that direction, he'll react badly. Scene 15 Simone returns to Gh and tells Audrey about helping Justus. Audrey volunteers to watch her son and free her up to help more. After Simone leaves, Steve wonders to Audrey why suddenly she doesn't mind Simone and Justus working closely together. Audrey says she doesn't think Justus would risk everything to romance a married woman. [Right. Isn't there an old saying that the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. Let's hope it's not Luke's tree] [Get it? Fall by the tree. Bradley was shot by the tree. Jeez, what do you people want?] Scene 16 Justus returns home and is jumped by two men in the dark who beat him up pretty badly. [Damn, why couldn't they have mistaken Miguel for Justus] [You didn't think I'd let this whole episode go by without a disparaging word about Miguel, did you?]
