Date: Tue, 18 Oct 1994 12:42:52 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Mon 10/17/94 By: kathy%gundog@lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, October 17 Synopsis of Last Week's GH Story from the Contra Costa Times (Calif) Newspaper ============================================================================= Luke and Lucy learned that KatyBell and Damian were involved with the New Zealand Whaling Company, a bogus outfit that Frank Smith uses to launder dirty mob money. Using the info about Frank, Ned forced Damian to sell his shares of ELQ stock by threatening to tell the Feds that Damian purchased the shares with money laundered from Frank. Damian vowed that he and Katherine (who is still in a coma) will get their revenge on the Quartermaines. Katy heard Ned and Damian talking to her, but she was unable to speak or move. At Luke's surprise birthday party for Ruby, Stone and Robin admitted they are in love. Lily and Mig rented rooms from Ruby. Felicia told Tony she is pregnant with Frisco's baby and wondered if he would return if he knew about the child. Tiff thought about getting custody of Lucas now that Bobbie and Tony have split up. Sean said Alan won't be charged with Ray Conway's death, but that Edward is a suspect in Bradley's murder. And now, on with the show, but first here is today's Latin lesson... Quid sentis de Undequinquagintis? (How about those 49ers?) Nedling: the Wackiest Quartermaine of them All! ============================================================================= Ned complains to Lila that he doesn't know how to make up with Lois. He wonders why his attempt to buy her back (by offering her a building downtown for L&B Records) wasn't successful. Lila suggests that he zip his wallet and unzip Little Elvis; in other words, Lois wants romance not duplicitous games. Ned ignores her advice, though, and says that lying and two-timing got him into this mess and the same things will get him out and get Lois back! In the gatehouse, Lois is bitching to Brenda and Sonny about the Nedster. Brenda says they've got more important things to hash over. They tell Lois that they've got a great idea for Mig [perhaps a few months in a Turkish prison masquerading as a Gypsy woman?]. How about a "homecoming" concert in Puerto Rico to coincide with the release of Mig's first CD. Lois squeals like a happy piglet at the thought, and they start to make plans immediately. Ned wanders in; Brenda and Sonny split. The Nedling apologizes to Lois again, tries to get some two-way conversation going with her, but she doesn't want to deal with him and soon tosses him out. Brenda returns and they talk about Ned. Brenda asks Lois why she doesn't just forgive him and get on with her life? Lois admits that she'd like to love her Eddie like before, but she can't bring herself to trust him again. Brenda poses another problem: What are they going to do with the Idle Rich? She begs Lois to ease up on Ned or he might lose his incentive to perform and the band will go down the drain. Lois looks thoughtful. Meanwhile, Ned heads up to the Q mansion and snags the keys to Katy's new car. He drives the car out of town to a remote spot. Then he gets out of the car and pushes it down an embankment and into some kind of buttress or wall (I think!). Then he phones 911 and poses as an anonymous guy who happened to be passing by and witnessed "a terrible accident". When he's sure the medics are on their way, he climbs back into the car behind the wheel, straps himself in, bonks himself on the head with what looked like a tire iron, and hangs out the door like some giant Yuppie bat! The medics eventually take him away and he weakly asks them to call Lois Ashton, his wife. Lois takes the call from GH emergency room just as she and Brenda are leaving the gatehouse. BabyGirl's eyes puddle up and with a catch in her voice she tells Brenda that it's the hospital and "they're asking for me!" Eddie the Q Sinks Deeper into the Bradley Ward Stew! ============================================================================= Luke and Justus drop by PCPD and tell Sean they've got more information that implicates Eddie the Q in Bradley's Ward's murder. Luke relates his meeting with Lee Baldwin who told him that there was, indeed, a meeting in PC on the night of Bradley's death. Attendees were Lee Baldwin, Frank Smith (at the time they believed Frank was an honest businessman), Eddie the Q and Jack Boland. Edward told the three guys to stop harrassing Bradley Ward; that Edward would take care of him personally. Justus says he's pretty sure Edward killed Bradley, but that Mae-May is convinced of Eddie's innocence. He respects MM's intuitive powers, so he doesn't know what to think. Sean warns Justus not to go off half-cocked [always fully-cocked!]. Sean whizzes over to see Lee and ask him about the 20-year-old meeting. Lee adds nothing new to Luke's information except to say that he doesn't believe Edward hurt, much less murdered, Bradley Ward. He also said he would refuse to testify against Edward, but would appear on his behalf as his attorney. Lee told Sean that when they realized Frank Smith was crooked, they dumped him from future business dealings. Chef Spencer is Busy Stirring Things Up in Port Charles ============================================================================= In the Q mansion, Edward is fretting and pacing. Lila pressures him to confide his problems to her, but he sidesteps and she assumes he's worrying about KatyBell ["Katherine WHO?" thinks Edward]. Luke visits them and jams up Edward about his promise to support Justus. He says he'll expect Edward that evening at some church where Justus is going to announce his candidacy for the empty city council seat. Edward squirms and tries to eel out of it, but Luke pins him and extracts a promise to attend the festivities. Luke meets with Sonny at the old Paradise Lounge to sign their partnership papers for the blues club [anyone want to bet that the club will be called "LuLu's Place" or something like that?]. Luke asks Sonny to nose around about Bradley's murder and Sonny says he'll hook him up with an old mob guy who might have some answers. Then Sonny proposes that Luke hire some of the L&B talent; Luke says that if Ned wears the leather pants, he'll be assured of star billing! They laugh. Later on, Sonny's "connected" guy arrives and they have a chinwag. The guy promises he'll ask around and see if the Ward death was a mob hit or murder-for-hire. Later that evening, Luke and Lucky appear at the church. Justus is there, as is May-Mae, Tiff and TV crew and many members of the Charles Street neighborhood. Jason arrives and Keesha whizzes over to him. They swap some spit [in front of God and everyone] and May-Mae gives them the bent eye from across the room. Edward blows in, looking a bit tentative and Justus bristles when he sees him. Luke tells Justus to cool it and just let events unfold; May-Mae seems pleasantly surprised by Edward's appearance. end end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end end
