A Miserable Turn of Events Olive Branches & More --------------------- Ruby's birthday party has wound down and just a few folks are left. Jason offers to take Mary Mae and Keesha home. He's got his mother's car so Keesha won't have to sit on her grandmother's lap. Keesha readily accepts but Mary Mae would rather they go with Justus. Keesha points out that Justus is caught up in a discussion with Luke that looks like it has a ways to go and Mary May gives in. Ruby heads upstairs after wishing Karen and Jagger had been there with a promise to call the happy Chicagoans. After Luke checks on Lucky and Justus determines Mary Mae and Keesha have a way home they turn their discussion to the evidence against Edward. Justus points out that things aren't always what they seem, as with the circumstantial evidence and Mary Mae's intuition that Edward didn't kill Bradley. They both agree there is something Mary Mae isn't telling them [boy if only they knew] and decide to try turning over another rock. The four silver foxes who had the meeting with Bradley the week before he died somehow knew about Kylie's pregnancy. Luke decides to see what he can find out from Steve Hardy. Justus thanks Luke for all he's done and with that Luke tells Justus to look out for an olive branch from Edward. Meanwhile in the Ward living room Jason finishes telling Keesha and Mary Mae a story about putting black olives on a stick and offering it to AJ as an "olive branch" when they were kids. Jason decides it's time to leave and Mary May tries not to watch as Jason kisses Keesha good night. Once Jason is gone Keesha and Mary Mae have another battle over Keesha dating Jason. Keesha will deal the the possibility of Edward having killed Bradley when it comes about. They get into a shouting match and Keesha walks out. Later Keesha returns to apologize and Mary Mae lets Keesha know she understands the kinds of feelings Keesha has of young love but she's just trying to protect Keesha from getting hurt. Mary Mae points out that all that matters to the Quartermaines is power and money and while they may not say anything now eventually they'll put their foot down about one of their grandsons seeing a "colored girl." Jason may not look like a Quartermaine or act like a Quartermaine but Mary Mae warns Keesha that he IS a Quartermaine. Back outside Kelly's Stone and Robin talk about how guilty Robin feels about the skunk incident. Stone suggests she just go ahead and tell Mac and take the punishment. But Robin doesn't want to do that, they'll never get to see each other. Stone can't understand that Robin can't just forget it...she's got all the buttons that can be pushed...ones that Stone never worries about. Stone then tells Robin about the blues club Luke is opening with Sonny on the site of the Paradise Lounge. It's supposed to be a secret but Stone figures since Luke's involved maybe that'll make her feel better about him and Sonny. [Oops...will this be how Mac learns about the competition?] The Commish Visits the Q's Again! --------------------------------- Sean arrives at the Q's again to see Alan and is announced by Reginald. There is some discussion of Sean visiting "old times" when he talked with Monica earlier in the day. Sean makes a comment about so many suspects under one roof. With that Alan excuses Reginald and asks Sean what he can do for him. Sean would like a little confession...it's good for the soul. Sean and Alan play cat and mouse over Katherine's overdose, Ray Conway's death and the person who stole the evidence in the Conway death from the police. When Alan points out a sleaze like Ray deserved what he got for kicking around Rhonda, a very nice woman, Sean admits if he were in a similar situation he might have acted the exact same way. With that Sean admits the Conway case is essentially closed and moves on to question Alan about Katherine. yes, Alan despised her, and had motive and opportunity but he's not about to confess or give up anyone else in the house either as they all felt exactly the same about Katherine. As Sean makes a remark about doing his job well [what???] and not expecting Alan to implicate anyone Edward comes in. "You again?" Edward tries to give Sean a check for the police benevolence fund, as thanks for deep sixing the Ray Conway case, but says it's just the Quartemaine's annual contribution...just a little early. Sean doesn't accept and instead informs Edward he wants Edward down at headquarters with his attorney the next morning for his statement about Bradley. With that Sean leaves and Lila arrives. Edward starts to say it's nothing but instead informs Lila and Alan that he's a suspect in Bradley Ward's murder. Lila is appalled and Alan can't believe it. The police have nothing better to do than suspect a Q again. Alan heads off to his wife and bedroom after telling Edward he believes Edward didn't kill anyone. Edward then asks Lila if she believes him. Lila does what she usually doesn't do...asks Edward straight out. Normally she doesn't ask about his infidelities, lying to the IRS and other stuff. They have a tender moment as Edward tells her it may look otherwise from the evidence but he didn't kill Bradley, he "couldn't" kill Bradley. Edward is weary and Lila suggests he soak in the hot tub but before he goes he reminds Lila not to doubt his love for her. However Lila is clearly worried. Later Reginald comes in to see if Lila needs anything and seeing her state he offers to get Annabelle. But Lila doesn't want the sensitive dog to pick up on her worries and instead asks Reginald to sit beside her. Reginald tries to assure her that while Lila thinks it's getting to be too much for her to take it will all work out. A Miserable Turn of Events -------------------------- Lucy and Kevin arrive at the lighthouse and Lucy launches into a monologue about how pleased she is about her revenge against Katherine and Damian. Kevin tries to get a few words in and finally resorts to kissing Lucy to get her to stop talking. Lucy says he's rude to have interrupted her but Kevin's had enough talk of Damian and Katherine. Lucy has her victory... now he wants to concentrate on "us." Lucy asks if he's trying to seduce her as Kevin nuzzles Lucy. It get very warm very fast as they move to the couch. Lucy stops to ask Kevin if he's sure...he's sure and it gets hot and heavy until....Lucy cries out..."Oh Damian." [As Rick said...Lucy, Lucy, Lucy] Kevin is furious and no matter how Lucy tries to explain it away Kevin doesn't like it and questions how she would feel if she had been all over him and he had called out "Felicia." Lucy says she would hate it as Kevin walks to the door counting to ten in French. Lucy tries to apologize. Damian's been in her mind for almost a year but now he's out of her system. Kevin isn't convinced and asks her to leave...and suggests maybe she should visit Damian. Once outside with the door closed behind her Lucy vows this will be the last time Damian ruins something for her. At GH Damian is calling Cusak on the carpet for leaving a paper trail from his father to the money Damian used to buy into ELQ. It was supposed to be legit $$. Cusak wonders what Damian expected...after all he did ask Frank for the $$. Damian is not a happy camper since the Q's have forced him out of ELQ and Damian is going to make sure Cusak is not happy either. Cusak tries to offer his sympathy to Damian and wonders why Damian sold out. Damian points out the Q's could have had the feds into Frank. Cusak figures the Q's wouldn't have wanted the feds inside ELQ anymore than Frank wants the feds looking into his business Damian points out he "took a fall for his father" and Cusak better inform Frank of that. With that Cusak leaves figuring Damian had folded...but no Damian didn't fold. Amy comes in and a grumpy Damian asks Amy what she sees when she looks at Damian and Amy does her usual flirt..but when Damian calls it that...no it's just Amy's cheerful beside manner. Lucy arrives...Amy leaves...Damian needs a friend to talk to. And Damian tells Lucy she's probably the only friend he's got. No...Lucy's not his friend....she could be his worst nightmare. Lucy lets Damian know she was involved with Luke and the Q's leveling Damian and the transfer of his ELQ stock back to the Quartermaines. Damian doesn't quite understand why Lucy did it. Lucy, as only Lucy can, lets him know it was how he played her for a fool and lied to get Deception. They continue to trade barbs until Damian grabs Lucy's arms and warn her that when he can walk he's come gunning for her. A shaken Lucy leaves behind Damian who has a face full of anger...[has he turned into his father?] Till Next Time -- Nancy J.
