Date: Tue, 4 Oct 1994 16:20:39 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Mon 10/03/94 By: kathy%gundog@lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Tuesday, October 3 20-year-old Dirty Laundry is Finally Hung on the Line ======================================================= At the Spencer's house, Justus, Kylie and Luke sit and talk. Justus asks Kylie for the identity of the person who pressured her father (da Judge) to drop the Disappearance-of-Bradley-Ward investigation some 20 years ago. Before she says the name, Kylie reminds them that her dad was a political bigwig in addition to his judicial stuff. Luke chimes in, "was this a political ally?" and Kylie replies in the affirmative. The mystery man voiced serious concerns over Bradley's disappearance. Kylie tells them there was, indeed, a full-blown murder investigation after Bradley booked, yet this mystery man was certain that Brad had committed suicide. Kylie continues, the mystery man told her father that Bradley was under intense pressure because of his extracurricular activities (which included hiding-the-kielbasa with an assortment of ladies) and that Bradley took his own life rather than go through the embarrassment of exposure and ruin. The mystery man was certain that all the embarrassing stuff about Bradley (and he implied that the info about his and Kylie's baby) would surface if the murder investigation continued. Mystery man also feared that if it became known who Bradley's enemies were, there would be a negative reaction within the community toward the new airport development [meaning that Bradley's enemies were the guys who were developing the new Port Charles airport]. So, mystery man asked Kylie's dad to quash the investigation in order to protect Kylie and Bradley's reputations and to keep from stirring up the community against the fat-cat land developers. Justus demands to know who the mystery man was. Kylie drops the bomb: "Edward Quartermaine"!! Then Kylie, Luke, and Justus discuss the fact that Eddie the Q's name seems to come up with alarming frequency as their investigation into Bradley's death deepens. Kylie tells them that her dad already said he would be willing to testify to his and Edward's 20-year-old conversation. Then Kylie timidly suggests that maybe Edward talked to her father out of a sense of altruism. "Not bloody likely" say Justus and Luke, practically in unison. "Everything keeps coming back to Edward" says Luke, "it's time to call Sean!" Later on, Sean drops by and they tell him why the murder investigation was dropped 20 years ago and the identity of the mystery man. KatyBell -- Once More the Center of Attention ======================================================= Chaos reigns in the Quartermaine foyer. KatyBell remains dumped, like yesterday's garbage, on the floor while Alan buzzes around her like a demented bumblebee. "Why doesn't someone call an ambulance?" Lila asked. Alan can't find a pulse ("that's because she hasn't got a heart" intones Edward in the background and is silenced by a dagger-like look from Lila); Alan starts CPR [hey, Alan, is it STILL CPR if you include your tongue during the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation?] and eventually gets her heart beating. The paramedics arrive and cart the drool-covered KatyBell to GH. Edward insists that Ned accompany Katy to GH in case he's needed there for "damage control"! Ned gazes wistfully at Lois and tells her he'll be back in a twinkling. She sneers at him and tells him not to hurry on his account. Lila asks Lois if they can have a little chat in the library; Lois reluctantly agrees. Lila tries to smooth things over between Lois and Ned, but Lois is prickly and wary. Lois tells Lila that she thinks Ned kept their marriage a secret because he was ashamed of her. Lila says she's wrong; Ned wasn't ashamed to bring Lois home to the family, he was ashamed of the Quartermaines! Lois seems to believe this, but isn't caving into Lila yet. They continue to chat while things are moving full speed at the hospital. Katy is wheeled into the emergency room where Audrey and Ancient Doc Steve had just been discussing Doc Tom, who's leaving Somalia for the greener pastures of Zaire. Steve leaps into action and orders people around. Doc Tony takes a look at her head and pronounces that Katy has a probable "severe hematoma" ["calling Dr. Casey, Dr. Ben Casey"...Anybody out there remember that the most popular ailment on that show were subdural hematomas?]. Tone Loc will operate to relieve the pressure on Katy's brain. He requests that Bobbie put herself on the surgical team [he needs a shelf to hold the surgical instruments]; she's touched by the compliment and her buwlarks quiver with emotion. Meanwhile, Ned has gotten the news about the surgery and prepares to bolt back to the Q mansion. Alan is aghast at Ned's insensitivity but Ned claims he's had enough of dealing with Katy and now it's the family's turn! He leaves. Meanwhile, back at the mansion, AJ "the walking hormone" strolls into the library and includes himself in the tete-a-tete between Lila and Lois. AJ trashes Ned as a person and a business-man, claiming that Ned removed AJ from the PC Hotel simply for spite. AJ tells Lila that Edward wants her in another room and she exits. AJ moves to the couch next to Lois and starts to flirt with her. Just then, Ned comes roaring in and threatens to rearrange AJ's features if he doesn't stop flirting with his wife. To irritate Ned, Lois semi-flirts back at AJ and suggests they get together the next day for lunch, dinner, or whatever. She leaves and Ned explodes in anger at AJ. AJ tells him to stop blustering and take some responsibility for the situation. Back at the hospital, Steve tells Alan that the preliminary toxicology report on Katybell shows drugs that would not normally be in the system of a young woman. He names some drugs and Alan confirms that Lila takes one of them and Monica takes another. Steve gives him the fish-eye and suggests that someone at the Q mansion mixed KatyBell a lethal cocktail. He says he's going to phone Sean in the morning, after more lab results come in; Steve also suggests that it may be attempted murder. Filly Breaks the News to Lunchmeat; Later on, Kevin says "Grace" ================================================================= At the Outback, Mac asks Filly "Is it my baby?" Before she can answer, though, Tiff comes roaring in, mouth flapping at 3000 RPM, wanting to know the results of Filly's DNA test. Filly says she hasn't told Mac yet and Tiff slinks off to join Kevin at a table some distance away. Filly gives Mac the news that his lunchmeat must have malfunctioned and Frisco is the father of her baby. Mac asks if she's going to try and find Frisco to tell him the news; she doesn't know what she's going to do yet. Again, he offers to marry her and help raise the baby; she says "not in THIS lifetime, pal!" On her way out of the club, Tiff stops by the bar to console Mac. She mentions that he'd make a wonderful father and suggests that there's room in her garage for one more Volvo. Mac begs off, saying he's got to shampoo and braid Miguel's hair that night. Kevin and Filly repair to the lighthouse, where they discuss her baby. Filly has semi-hysterics which Kevin calms down with herbal tea [was that a dollop of horse tranquilizer he slipped into her chamomile?]. She dissolves into tears [a high, freaky chipmunk-like wail] and he hugs her. Later on, she leaves and Kevin falls asleep on the couch. His nightmare returns...hands reaching up through water. He tries to grasp them but they keep slipping away. There's an asexual voice repeatedly crying "help me" and finally the head/face of a woman surfaces (must be Grace). Kevin wakes up with a jerk [Mac, is that you?] covered with sweat. end end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov end end
