The Patient is Progressing The Father Just Waiting to Happen --------------------------------- Tiff finds Mac's story about the skunk stink humorous until Mac tells her there were various body parts attached to his engine. When she asks how Robin responded to Mac's accusation he tells her Robin stonewalled. Mac expounds on how he intends to enforce the rules with Robin since he has to act as her father. When Mac drifts away from Tiff she asks Felicia who has joined her why Filly doesn't want to marry that man. Filly lets Tiff know it's not that simple even though Mac would make a great father even if the kid isn't his. She can't even think about anything like that till the DNA test is back. Robin walks in. Mac is all apologetic to Robin for coming down hard on her earlier in the am about the skunk, as Tiff and Felicia roll their eyes. He even suggests Robin and Stone have dinner at the Outback on him. Robin doesn't know what to make of it as she and Mac hug. When Robin goes to a table across the room, Tiff and Felicia ask what his performance was all about....it was all about guilt. Lily visits Miguel after exploring PC and looking for an apt. She's got a $$ problem and while she's fully credited to teach on any level figures all she can get might be substituting which isn't a steady income. Miguel has an idea [what an idea...oops, that's the writers], he knows someone who might have a solution to both Lily's problems, a job and a place to live. [Can we all say Kelly's!] Robin calls Stone and tells him about Mac's strange mood in the am, the change by afternoon and Mac's invitation. They decide to accept since they can be together and it is free. Filly comes out of the back and notices the strange look on Robin's face...and questions her about it. Robin feels guilty. Oh about what?? asks Filly. Just stuff! Filly heads over to Mac and tells him the doctor called. The DNA results will be back Friday. Mac drops and shatters the glass he was polishing. Spencer Blues ------------- Lucky is having trouble understanding the importance of the Pythagorean Theorem which launches Luke on a story about the Greeks and doodling in sand. Luke borrows Lucky's calculator for some family math. The chips are rapidly running out. Lucky offers the worm bin but Luke declines. It's time to find a steady source of bread. That astonishes Lucky...his dad is actually going to work!? Luke wants to open his own business, a blues club. No, not like Macs, but with music, dancing and with something extra. He needs to do some negotiating and goes to make a phone call. Sometime later Sonny arrives. Luke presents his idea to Sonny and lets Sonny know the something extra Luke wants is a back room for a private gambling club. He refuses to pay protection to Frank or anyone else. Sonny assures him Frank has pulled back from that business. Now all Luke needs is a place for this club. Sonny has the perfect place. The Paradise Lounge. It's sitting empty and is a financial drain on Sonny. Luke doesn't have the $$ to buy but that's not Sonny's idea. He offers a long term lease. They dicker back and forth and finally settle the terms. Luke gets a long term lease and Sonny gets a piece of the business and some of the profits that Sonny gets go towards Luke purchasing the club. They're now in business. The doorbell rings. It's Lucy to see Luke. She recognizes Sonny as Sonny, Inc, the guy who wrote a $10,000 check for the Nurses Ball. Sonny leaves and Luke wonders why Lucy is there. She wants to know if he's made a decision. A decision? On What? Getting back at Damian. Lucy figures he still wants to get back at Damian. [cliff-hanger] Is Eddie Maine Going to Sing for L&B or Not? -------------------------------------------- Sonny wants to be introduces to Eddie as he visits Ned at the Q's. He wants to know if Ned is going to honor his contract with L&B but Ned asserts he has no contract, only a verbal agreement with Lois. But according to Sonny even that verbal agreement is binding since Ned had provided services. Ned bristles at the legaleeze. Sonny backs off of the legal stuff but reminds Ned that Ned's relationship to Lois, Lois & Brenda's relationship, and Sonny's relationship with Brenda have all been affected by this mess Ned got himself into. Sonny wants to know if Ned's going to sing at concerts so the 2 CD's that are filling the wharehouse can be promoted. Sonny even tells Ned he visited Lois in Brooklyn to which Ned inquires how Lois was. Angry and Sonny is amazed that Ned got out of there alive. Ned figures Lois' parents are giving Lois the pleasure of killing him instead of taking it on themselves. It's back to business...is Eddie going to continue to sing? Ned talks about his bad timing. His future singing depends on Lois and he plans on convincing her to forgive him. Then Sonny hits with a real kicker...which life is Ned going to choose...the rock star or the CEO? Ned still wants to do both. He figures it should be easier now that it's all out in the open. Sonny wonders if Ned has learned anything from this mess and reminds Ned he's the talent and Sonny is the principle partner in L&B. Ah...that doesn't still well with Ned. The only reason he's even allowed this conversation to continue with Sonny is because Lois is Sonny's partner. Ned normally doesn't do business with folks with Sonny's background. Ned's future at L&B depends on Lois and with that Sonny offers to intercede with Lois on Ned's behalf. Sonny and Ned are interrupted by Lila, who is looking for Annabelle's pink bow. After flirting with Lila, Sonny leaves. Lila realizes they have been talking business and Ned was "working" for Sonny but Ned "splits hairs" and says he was only working "with" Sonny. He does hope he can work with Sonny because that means Lois would have forgiven him. They discuss Ned's double life and Ned thanks Lila for letting Lois use the gatehouse. When Lila asks why Ned couldn't tell Lois the truth he tells her he knew Lois loved Eddie Maine and was afraid she wouldn't love Ned Ashton. Lila thinks that is so sad. Ned figures all he has to do is convince Lois that Ned is Eddie with $$...like hitting the lottery. But Lila notes that the trappings of the Q's don't interest Lois. Ned lets Lila know it wasn't that he was afraid to bring Lois to the Q's but was afraid to bring the family to Lois. Lila hopes he can get Lois to forgive him since he must truly love her. Lila tell Ned how much she loves putting a big smile on Ned's face. The Patient Is Progressing -------------------------- Tony evaluates Tony's progress. Damian doesn't appreciate the "pain" the tests put him through. As Tony is finishing the tests Bobbie walks in and watches. Tony notes to her that the patient is progressing. In a matter of weeks Damian should be walking with a walker and progressing to a cane. Full recovery and decreasing back pain should take about a year. He will have his first session with his physical therapist in the morning. When Damian asks if Bobbie's satisfied she replies that she wished him no physical harm...only wanted him to experience hell. With that Tony asks Bobbie to step outside to speak privately. He's alarmed at what was just said but also notices the change in Bobbie. Bobbie's made an enemy and there's no telling what Damian might to do her since Damian's angry. But that doesn't faze Bobbie, nothing Damian might do could be worse than what he's already done. Later Ned visits Damian and Damian tries joking that Ned hasn't brought him any flowers or chocolates. Ned unloads the "info" about Katherine that he figures Damian already knows. When he brings up the software that was pirated Damian counters with there's no evidence. But it all happened to close to be coincidence for Ned. When Ned brings up Damian's possible involvement with Katherine in her "scam" of Scott, Damian again counters with "no proof." Damian figures ELQ wouldn't want thier biggest stock holder on the front page of the supermarket tabloids but Ned is willing to let Damian hang out to dry. Ned's not amused by any of Damian's answers since Damian's past indiscretions are affecting Ned's life. They agree their relationship now is only based on mutual respect... but no trust. When Damian remarks that trust is for fools, Ned assures Damian he won't be made a fool of twice. Ned's going to watch his back and suggests Damian watch his own back. Till Next Time -- Nancy J.
